TR19 Inspection across Hampshire

TR19 inspection across Hampshire: what to expect

Think of a TR19 inspection as the diagnosis before the treatment. We look at the system, take grease readings and photograph what we find, so the clean can be planned properly. The work covers access surveys, deposit thickness tests and post-clean checks, and people most often call us about kitchen extract systems with no recent grease readings and systems that need surveying before cleaning.

Night work is normal for us. A lot of visits happen overnight or at weekends, so a kitchen or building can carry on as usual the next day. On site, the work takes an hour or two for a single kitchen, longer for a large or complex system.

  1. After the clean, we arrange a time to check the system.
  2. We open the access points used on the clean.
  3. Grease readings are taken again at set points.
  4. Photos are taken to show the condition after the clean.
  5. We report the findings and flag any areas that need more work.

What you’ll pay

No two sites are the same, so each one gets its own fixed quote. The size of the job, how we reach it, its condition and the working hours all play a part.

What you get with us

  • One number for every site across the South East and London
  • Fully insured
  • CHAS and SafeContractor accredited, with ISO 9001
  • Fixed quotes, usually within one working day

Getting a quote

Photos are the quickest way to a quote: wide shots of the system, close-ups of anything that worries you and how we’d get to it. Tell us what kind of site it is and when it’s open, and we can price many jobs without a visit.

Near you in Basingstoke

Locally, jobs take us to businesses close to King's Furlong Infant School and Nursery, Cranbourne and Eastrop Park. Other local landmarks include The Rising Sun pub (0.5 miles north-east), St Michael's Church (0.5 miles east) and The Costello School (1 mile east). The nearest railway station is Basingstoke station, about 0.6 miles east. Other landmarks nearby include Basing House (2.2 miles east) and The Malls (0.6 miles east). For a walk, there’s Farleigh Hill and Daneshill Park Woods.

TR19 inspection around Hampshire

Our TR19 inspection work across Hampshire takes in places such as Basingstoke, Winchester and Gosport and the villages in between. We cover every place we list for Hampshire, 683 in all, and kitchens are cleaned around their opening hours, overnight and at weekends included.

Across London and the South East, we work evenings, overnight and weekends, so sites in Hampshire can keep trading. In the coastal parts of Hampshire, salt air and damp are hard on ductwork, fans and dampers, which is worth knowing when systems are inspected.

Basingstoke: Church and community hall kitchens, near St Michael's Church or anywhere around Basingstoke, are easy to forget, but their extracts collect grease like any other. Commuter trade near Basingstoke station can mean long cooking hours, and long hours put a kitchen into BESA’s more frequent cleaning bands.

Why it fails

Some parts of a system are hard to reach, so those sections can be skipped time and again. An inspection of a system in Hampshire shows where access panels are missing, so panels can be fitted.

The symptoms we are asked about most include:

  • Parts of the system left out of past cleans
  • Confirming a clean reached the whole system
  • Kitchens whose menu or hours have changed
  • Kitchens taken over with no cleaning records

How we price TR19 inspection

The diagnosis comes before the price. We look at:

  • Parking and loading at the site
  • Site requirements such as sign-in and permits
  • How many systems or sites are involved
  • The scale of the work

Combining work into one visit or one programme often makes better use of the time. Tell us about everything you’d like looked at, and you will get one fixed quote.

What to send for a quote

Photos and a few facts are often enough to price the work. Useful things to send:

  • Where the plant sits or the system leaves the building, such as a roof or outside wall
  • When the site is open and when it’s quiet
  • The site address and the type of premises
  • Detail shots of panels, filters and grilles

For TR19 inspection in Hampshire, call 0345 646 2711, or send details by email. Tell us what kind of premises it is and when it’s open, plus photos or the previous report if they’re to hand. A fixed quote usually follows within one working day.

Staff cleaning versus specialist work

When your team notices a problem between visits, such as dripping grease, a noisy fan, a smell or a filter that will not come clean, it’s best reported rather than tackled in-house. We’ll take a look and send you a fixed quote.

Some jobs should never be done in-house: opening up ductwork, cleaning fans, drop testing fire dampers and measuring grease call for the right kit, training and safe access. That’s our job.

When something else is needed

Before you book, it helps to know what’s not included:

  • Removing the grease, which is a separate clean
  • The legal duty, which stays with the responsible person
  • A faulty or failing extract fan

What the work involves, part by part

Horizontal duct runs

If a run has no access panel, we note it so panels can be added.

Extract fan and discharge

A greasy fan works harder and wears faster. The inspection shows whether it needs cleaning now.

Hampshire questions

Are you accredited?

Our accreditations are CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001, alongside BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite membership, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease. The Vent Hygiene Elite scheme is run by BESCA and audited independently.

What do you do to protect the area?

We start with protection: floor sheeting and covers over nearby surfaces and equipment. The area is left tidy, with our waste taken away.

At what point does grease need cleaning?

Under TR19® Grease, the mean thickness should not exceed 200 microns between cleans. 500 microns or more at any point calls for immediate spot cleaning.

Do you work with multi-site operators?

Yes. One number covers all your sites across London and the South East, and visits can be set on a regular cycle.

Where does the waste go?

We contain it and take it with us. Grease, debris and waste water are collected as the work goes on, so it doesn’t spread.

What does TR19 inspection cost?

Every site is different, so each gets its own fixed quote. For a quote, give us a ring on 0345 646 2711, or email photos with the site type, opening hours and a few pictures.

What is post-clean verification?

After a clean, we take new readings and pictures to show how the system was left. It can follow our own cleans or another contractor’s.
