How we handle TR19 inspection in Springvale
Post-clean verification is a check carried out once the cleaning is done, with new readings and pictures of the cleaned areas. It gives you evidence of how the system was actually left. If you are dealing with kitchens taken over with no cleaning records and insurers asking for TR19 evidence, we can put it right.
For a smaller kitchen near Springvale, a TR19® clean is the same job as anywhere: canopy, filters, plenum, duct, fan and discharge. We plan the visit around your hours, with the journey sorted in advance.
Every visit ends with a written report and pictures, so you have a record of what was done and when. Where the work is a TR19® Grease clean, the certificate is issued through the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal.

Aftercare tips
A little care between visits keeps the system in better shape. We recommend:
- Flag oily drips near the extract
- Never cook with filters missing
- File every inspection report with your certificates
- Share inspection reports with your insurer or broker when asked
The report recommends when the system should next be cleaned and tested, from the measured grease and the kitchen’s hours.
Keep all TR19 records together so the history is easy to show.
TR19 inspection around Springvale
The FSA’s data shows about 3 pubs and bars registered across Springvale and its immediate surroundings (about a mile and a half). Breakfasts, bar meals and functions all put grease into the extract wherever they’re cooked. Environmental health officers from Winchester City council inspect food businesses in Springvale. Extraction counts as kitchen equipment, so its condition can come up on the day. A TR19® certificate and photo report after each clean gives you a record to show an inspector. Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service covers Springvale. In most workplaces, including commercial kitchens, it’s the fire and rescue authority that enforces the Fire Safety Order.
For schools such as Kings Worthy Primary School, kitchen extract cleaning is typically booked for the holidays, when the canteen is closed. Volunteers running a hall kitchen near St Mary's Church Hall, or anywhere in Springvale, may not know when the extract was last cleaned, and a grease test settles it. Healthcare kitchens, like those at hospitals such as St John's Rooms And Chapel (about 2.7 miles south), often cook for long hours, which puts them in BESA’s heavier-use bands.

Access to risers is often limited. The survey shows exactly what access there is.
Horizontal duct runs
If a run has no access panel, we note it so it can be fixed before the clean.

For landlords and multi-site operators
Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, the responsible person must assess and reduce fire risk, and that can be the employer, the owner, a landlord, a facilities manager or a managing agent. Where responsibility is shared, records matter even more.
We also work for facilities teams across offices, schools and healthcare in Springvale and across Hampshire. Work can be phased by floor, building or site to keep disruption down.
What affects the cost of TR19 inspection
You’ll get a fixed price before we start. It’s based on:
- The size of the system
- Parking and loading at the site
- Site requirements such as sign-in and permits
- The number of sites or systems
Kitchens, offices, schools and hospitals are all priced the same way: the size of the job, access, condition and working hours. Ask for a fixed quote and we’ll go through it with you.
Asking for a quote
You don’t need the technical terms. Just send:
- Your last certificate, test record or report
- Wide photos of the system and the area around it
- Your opening hours and when the area is out of use
- Problems your staff have spotted
Photos are enough for some jobs, while others need a look on site. Big or complicated sites, and systems that are hard to see in pictures, get a survey first. Either way, the quote is fixed before any work is booked.
Springvale questions
Which council inspects kitchens in Springvale?
In Springvale, it’s Winchester City council that carries out food hygiene inspections. Ratings are published by the Food Standards Agency, so a clean extract and good records are worth keeping up.
Can you get to a site in Springvale?
Yes. Springvale is within the area we cover across London and the South East. The journey is planned ahead, so a few details about the route help.
How long does grease testing take?
As a guide, it takes a morning or less for one kitchen, more where there are several systems. The size of the system and the access make the difference.
Can one contract cover all our sites?
Yes. Tell us the addresses and what each needs and we’ll quote them together.
Can you verify a clean after it’s been done?
Verification means repeat readings and pictures once the clean is done. The report flags anything missed.
Which accreditations do you hold?
We are a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease. We also hold CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001, and we carry full insurance.
What should I send you?
Just the basics: the address, the site type, your opening hours and how we reach the system. Photos and the last report help too. Then call us on 0345 646 2711, or send details by email.
Can you set up regular visits?
Yes, of course. Tell us what you have and how it’s used, and we will suggest a schedule and quote for it.
The process
Night work is normal for us. A lot of visits happen overnight or at weekends, so a kitchen or building can carry on as usual the next day. On site, the work takes an hour or two for a single kitchen, longer for a large or complex system. For a place like Springvale, we load the van from the survey notes so the work can be done in one visit where possible.
- First we book a time that will not disrupt cooking.
- We look over the canopy, plenum, ducts, fan and discharge.
- Grease thickness is measured at set points by WFTT or DTT.
- Photos are taken at each point, and access gaps noted.
- The findings go into a report with readings, photos and a recommended next clean.
Before we arrive
- Move anything stored near the system
- Tell us where we can park and unload
- Tell us about site rules, permits or sign-in
How to get a quote
We do not publish a price list, because every site is different. We look at your system first, from photos or on a visit, and then send you a fixed quote. To start, phone us on 0345 646 2711 or drop us a line.

Staff cleaning versus specialist work
For ventilation and air handling systems, in-house care is mostly about checks: clear grilles, a log of filter changes and reporting anything odd. Cleaning inside ducts and units is specialist work.
Day-to-day cleaning is something your team can do: wiping down canopy surfaces, cleaning filters and keeping a simple log. Inside the ducts, risers and fan is specialist work, and that’s where we come in.
