Our ductwork cleaning service in Oxfordshire
We treat ductwork like a doctor treats arteries: diagnose where grease has built up, clear it and confirm the result. Readings taken before and after show the difference, alongside before and after photos. We are often asked to deal with a grease test showing the duct is overdue and a duct nobody has opened in years, across vertical risers, attenuators and bends and junctions.
On the day, we arrive at the time agreed with you, which is often after service, overnight or at a weekend. Equipment that has to be off is switched off and allowed to cool first, and floors and nearby surfaces are sheeted. The work itself takes anything from a few hours to several visits, depending on the length of duct.
- First we diagnose: the route, the access and the grease levels.
- A fixed quote follows, based on what we found.
- We clean section by section, working from panel to panel.
- We take extra care at bends and at the foot of risers.
- Readings, photos and a recommended next clean date complete the job.
What you’ll pay
We don’t list prices on the website, because the cost depends on the site in front of us. Call for a fixed quote, and we will explain what it covers.

Ask for a quote
Quoting starts with a diagnosis, from your pictures and details or, where that is not enough, a survey on site. Then we send a fixed price so you know the cost before any work starts.

Ductwork cleaning around Oxfordshire
In Oxfordshire, we work in places such as Oxford, Banbury and Didcot and well beyond. We cover every place we list for Oxfordshire, 443 in all, with cleans booked around trading hours.
London and the South East cover everything from city basements to rural kitchens. Wherever the site is in Oxfordshire, the work is done to the same TR19® standard.
Oxford: If you look after a school kitchen, at a school such as East Oxford Primary School or anywhere near Oxford, the holidays are the usual time for a TR19® clean. If you run a church or community hall kitchen, near St Clement's Church or elsewhere in Oxford, its extract still collects grease from every lunch and event.
Honest limits
It’s worth knowing the limits before booking:
- Ductwork that was poorly designed
- Leaking duct joints that need repair
- Fire dampers that don’t close (they need testing and remedials)
Between visits
Here’s the after-treatment advice, in brief:
- Don’t block access panels with shelving or stock
- Keep grease filters clean and fitted whenever you cook
- Don’t switch the extract off early
- Flag drips from the duct right away
Access panels are closed and sealed back up after cleaning, and the area around them is cleaned down. Waste grease and water are taken away.
Watch for warning signs between cleans: grease leaking from duct joints, smells, or a fan that sounds rough. Testing will show whether any section has reached 500 microns.
What the work involves, part by part
Horizontal duct runs
Grease settles on the floor of a flat duct run. Thick deposits are scraped out by hand before degreasing, then the walls and roof are cleaned too.
Multi-storey and shared buildings
A fire in a duct in a shared building can affect far more than one kitchen, so the responsible person has more reason to keep it clean. The paperwork suits landlords and managing agents.
Staff cleaning versus specialist work
Some jobs should never be done in-house: opening up ductwork, cleaning fans, drop testing fire dampers and measuring grease call for the right kit, training and safe access. That is our job.
Logging matters as much as cleaning. A dated log of in-house cleaning and checks helps show that the system is managed between specialist visits, next to our reports.
Why act early?
A dirty duct is something insurers ask about. Many require cleaning to TR19, and they can refuse or reduce a claim without proof. Your certificate and photo report show the ducts were cleaned.
Questions to ask before you book
- How they set the interval to the next visit
- How areas they can’t reach will be recorded
- Whether they’re fully insured
- Whether a survey comes first
Oxfordshire questions
What do you do with what you remove?
Waste is contained during the work and removed when we leave, from grease and debris to used cleaning water. We do not leave it behind.
Can you clean ductwork with no access panels?
Sections out of reach are written down on the report, in line with TR19. We can fit new access panels so they’re cleaned next time.
What does TR19 mean?
BESA’s ventilation hygiene specification, with two parts that matter most here: TR19® Grease for kitchen extract systems and TR19® Air for general ventilation. It isn’t legislation, but it’s the standard people check against.
What types of premises do you cover?
Commercial premises of every kind: from restaurants, pubs and hotels to schools, hospitals, care homes, offices, shops and food production sites. Work is timed around how each site runs.
Do you work with multi-site operators?
Yes. Our area covers London and the South East, so sites at different addresses can be planned together as one programme. Each site gets its own report and photos.
What should I send you?
Where the site is, what it is and when it’s open, along with a few pictures and any previous report.
Is there a survey before the work?
Yes, every time. Diagnosis comes before treatment: the survey shows what needs doing and what access we need, and the quote is based on that.
