Ductwork Cleaning in Middle Assendon
Ductwork cleaning for commercial sites in Middle Assendon and across Oxfordshire. CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001, and fully insured.
- Sections of duct with no access panels
- Ductwork that has never been cleaned
- Heavy grease at the base of a riser
How we handle ductwork cleaning in Middle Assendon
Between the canopy and the fan runs the ductwork, hidden above ceilings and inside walls. Every horizontal run and vertical riser collects grease along the way and a fire in the duct can spread through the building. We clean it from the inside, through access panels, to BESA TR19® Grease. We’re often asked to deal with high readings at a recent grease test and a duct nobody has opened in years, on multi-storey ducts, access panels and horizontal duct runs.
In a small place like Middle Assendon, kitchens are often in older or extended buildings, with long single-storey duct runs, and those horizontal sections are where grease settles. We agree access and timings in advance.
We have been trading since 2009, and we are a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease. We also hold CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001, and we are fully insured.

Why it’s worth doing now in Middle Assendon
Old grease in a duct for a kitchen in Middle Assendon doesn’t stay soft. Heat and age turn it into a thick, stubborn crust, so the later the clean, the bigger the job. Our emergency line runs 24/7, but a planned visit to Middle Assendon is calmer for everyone.
When the work has to happen, how we reach it and how big the site is can all change the price. Each of those is built into the quote, and the price is fixed before any work starts.

What happens on the day
Protection comes first: sheeting goes over floors and surfaces close to the work. Then we make the system safe and start. It takes anything from a few hours to several visits, depending on the length of duct, and we clear up before we go. Seeing the system in pictures first means the trip to Middle Assendon can be planned properly.
- We start by working out how the duct runs and where it can be opened.
- Grease readings are taken at set points along the duct.
- Access panels are opened and heavy deposits scraped out by hand.
- Horizontal runs and risers are then degreased by the method that suits the deposit.
- Post-clean readings and pictures go into the report, with any unreachable section listed.
Getting ready for the visit
- Allow time for equipment near the work to be turned off and cool down
- Let us know when the site is closed or quiet
- Make sure someone can let us in and lock up afterwards
Getting a quote
The quickest way to a quote is to send pictures: the system from a couple of angles, plus any access panels or hatches. Tell us what kind of site it is and when it’s open, and many jobs can be priced from that alone.

Middle Assendon: your questions answered
Do you cover smaller places like Middle Assendon?
Yes, we work in villages as well as towns, and Middle Assendon is covered. Photos of the system and directions to the site help us plan the visit.
Which environmental health team covers Middle Assendon?
That’s Buckinghamshire council, whose environmental health officers carry out food hygiene inspections in Middle Assendon. An officer may look up into the canopy, so clean filters on the day and a recent certificate on file both help.
Can you fit access panels in our ductwork?
Yes. We’ll point out where panels are needed, and fitting them means future cleans are more complete.
How far ahead should we book?
The more notice, the better, especially for out-of-hours work. We typically quote within one working day, and there’s a 24/7 line for emergencies.
What does TR19 mean?
It’s BESA’s specification and the benchmark insurers, fire officers and EHOs look to. It covers how systems are inspected, cleaned and checked, and it takes a risk-based approach.
Do you offer maintenance contracts?
Yes. Plans on a 3, 6 or 12-monthly cycle are available, to suit the system and how it’s used.
How do you keep the site clean during the work?
Floors and surfaces near the work are sheeted before we start, and waste is contained as we go. At the end, the area is cleaned down.
How do you clean inside the ductwork?
After a survey and grease readings, the duct is opened up through its access panels. Each run and riser is scraped and degreased, and test again when we are done.
What ductwork cleaning looks like in Middle Assendon
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service covers Middle Assendon. The Fire Safety Order puts the duty on whoever runs a kitchen to control its fire risk, and a greasy duct is fuel. Environmental health officers from Buckinghamshire council inspect food businesses in Middle Assendon. Extraction counts as kitchen equipment, so its condition can come up on the day. A TR19® certificate and photo report after each clean gives you a record to show an inspector.
A hall kitchen that only cooks for events, whether near Church of St James or elsewhere in Middle Assendon, still needs its extract cleaned, just less often. Part by part
Bends and transitions
Transitions from the canopy spigot into the duct catch a lot of grease. We reach it from the plenum side where possible.
Vertical risers
Risers are cleaned through panels at different levels. Where it cannot be reached safely, the report says so.
In-house cleaning or a specialist?
Some jobs should never be done in-house: opening up ductwork, cleaning fans, drop testing fire dampers and measuring grease need training, the right equipment and safe access. That’s our job.
Your own staff can handle the daily basics: wiping canopies, washing grease filters and recording it in a log. Inside the ducts, risers and fan is specialist work, which is where we come in.
