About kitchen deep cleaning in Essex

We clean from the ceiling down. High surfaces come first, then walls and equipment, then floors last, so nothing falls onto surfaces we have already cleaned. Cooking equipment is switched off and allowed to cool first. The work covers fryers and grills, floors and floor drains and behind and under equipment, and common reasons people get in touch are a clean-up ahead of an inspection and a kitchen taken over in poor condition.

Your staff don’t need to do much on the day. A contact on site lets us in at the agreed time and points us to the system, and the rest is down to us. Before we leave, the area is tidied and the paperwork follows.

  1. We look at the kitchen with you to plan the clean.
  2. Areas are protected and equipment is made safe.
  3. Grease is removed from ceilings, walls and equipment.
  4. Behind and under the equipment is cleaned where it can be moved safely.
  5. Floors are done last and the kitchen is ready to use.

What you will pay

Whatever the type of site, the quote works the same way: how much there is, how we reach it, what state it’s in and when we can work. Call for a fixed quote and we’ll go through it with you.

Getting a quote

Quotes are quick. Send a few details and photos, and we usually reply with a fixed quote within one working day. If we need to see the system first, we book a survey around your hours.

Local landmarks in Colchester

In Colchester, that means kitchens and buildings near Church of St Peter, Bull Meadow and The Bay And Say Public House and the streets around them. Nearby too are Colchester Sixth Form College (under half a mile north-west) and St John's Green Primary School (under half a mile south). There’s a railway station in Colchester itself: Colchester Town station. A little further out are Lion Walk (less than half a mile south-east) and Essex County Hospital (within half a mile south-west). Green spaces nearby include Westhouse Wood.

Kitchen deep cleaning across Essex: local notes

In Essex, we work in places such as Colchester, Chelmsford and Basildon and the smaller places around them. Every place on our Essex list (644 in all) is covered, with work booked when the kitchen is closed.

From central London kitchens to coastal hotels and country pubs, London and the South East have every kind of site. Wherever the site is in Essex, the work is done to the same TR19® standard. Parts of Essex are on or near the coast, where salt air is hard on rooftop fans, discharge cowls and fixings. Fans and cowls on sea-facing roofs are worth checking at each visit.

Colchester: If you run a church or community hall kitchen, near Church of St Peter or elsewhere in Colchester, a deep clean and an emptied grease trap before a busy season of events are worth booking. School kitchens, at schools like Colchester Sixth Form College for example, usually have their deep cleans and grease trap work done while the canteen is closed.

When it’s something else

An honest diagnosis matters more to us than a booking, so here’s what kitchen deep cleaning won’t do:

  • Faults with cooking or refrigeration equipment, which need an engineer
  • The inside of the extract system
  • Drainage problems beyond the kitchen

For landlords and multi-site operators

Facilities teams in offices, schools and healthcare sites book us too across Essex. Work can be phased by floor, building or site around the people who use them.

Whether it’s one building or many, you get the same standard: the system surveyed, the price fixed, the visit fitted around trading and everything written up afterwards.

What staff can safely do

Keep a record of what your team does. A simple log of filter washes, wipe-downs and checks shows an inspector that the system is looked after between visits, next to our reports.

Some jobs should never be done in-house: entering ducts, working on fans, testing dampers and taking grease readings call for the right kit, training and safe access. Leave those to us.

Signs you need kitchen deep cleaning

Daily cleaning focuses on the surfaces you can reach. Areas behind ranges and fryers, and high-level surfaces, tend to be missed so grease and debris accumulate there.

Most sites get in touch after spotting one of these:

  • Grease stains on walls near the cooking line
  • A kitchen that needs a clean start
  • A clean-up ahead of an inspection
  • Hardened deposits on kitchen equipment

Leave it or put it right?

The longer grease is left, the harder it is to remove. Regular deep cleans are easier than rescuing a neglected kitchen, and surfaces last better.

What your quote should include

  • What hours they’ll be on site
  • Their accreditations, such as BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite, CHAS or SafeContractor
  • Whether the price is fixed
  • How VAT is shown on the quote

Essex: your questions answered

What types of premises do you cover?

Restaurants and pubs, hotels, schools and colleges, hospitals and care homes, offices and retail, plus food production and leisure sites.

Can you give me a price for a deep clean?

After a look at the kitchen, from photos or on site, we give you a fixed quote. Just call 0345 646 2711 or drop us a line and we will arrange it, and it’s usually back within one working day.

What do you clean in a commercial kitchen deep clean?

It takes in the places daily cleaning doesn’t reach, from high walls and ceilings to the floor under the range. The cooking equipment is cleaned too.

Does the report say when we need you again?

Yes. The recommended date is on the report. BESA’s minimum intervals for kitchen extracts range from 3-monthly for heavy use to 12-monthly for light use, while fire dampers are tested at least annually.

What should go in our maintenance log?

Each report and certificate we give you, filed in the maintenance log with your in-house cleaning records. BESA says certificates should show the date, location and technician.

Do you survey before quoting?

Yes, always. Diagnosis comes before treatment: the survey shows what needs doing and what access we need and the fixed quote is built on it.

How much notice should we give?

Book as early as you can for planned work, especially if the next clean or test is due soon. For emergencies, we take calls 24/7.
