Kitchen deep cleaning for kitchens and businesses in Wix
Think of a deep clean as a full check-up for the kitchen. We look in the places daily cleaning misses and hand the kitchen back ready for service. It’s a fresh start that is easier to keep on top of. Typical jobs include signs of pests drawn by food debris and a kitchen that needs a clean start, on ranges and ovens, fryers and grills and walls and ceilings.
In a village or hamlet like Wix, commercial kitchens are few, perhaps a pub, a school or a care home. Wherever there is one, it needs its grease trap and hard-to-reach areas kept clean.
The report is your system’s health record: a dated account with photos of everything we did. Grease extract cleans are also certificated to TR19® Grease through the BESCA VHE portal and sits alongside the report.

What staff can safely do
For ventilation and air handling systems, in-house care is mostly about checks: clear grilles, a log of filter changes and reporting anything odd. Cleaning inside ducts and units is specialist work.
Some jobs should never be done in-house: opening up ductwork, cleaning fans, drop testing fire dampers and measuring grease call for the right kit, training and safe access. That’s our job.

Wix: your questions answered
Who would carry out a food hygiene inspection at a kitchen in Wix?
In Wix, it’s Tendring council that carries out food hygiene inspections. Photos from a deep clean are a simple record of what was done and when.
Do you work in school kitchens around Wix out of term?
Yes. Half-terms and the summer break are the natural time for school work. There are about 2 schools, colleges and universities on the FSA’s food hygiene register within about 1.5 miles of Wix. Tell us your holiday dates and we’ll book the visit for when the site is empty.
Do you have a 24/7 line?
Yes. If something urgent happens, like a fan failing or damage after a fire, call our 24/7 line, and we’ll advise on what to do next.
How much time does a deep clean need?
The kitchen’s size and equipment decide it, and a deep clean normally takes a full shift for most kitchens, longer for a large one. You’ll know before any work starts.
Do inspectors look at how clean the whole kitchen is?
Yes, cleanliness of the premises is part of an inspection. No clean can promise a rating, but a deep clean puts the kitchen in good condition.
What is TR19?
TR19® is the BESA specification for keeping ventilation systems clean. TR19® Grease, a standalone specification since 2019, covers grease in kitchen extract systems, and TR19® Air covers general supply and extract systems.
Can we book visits on a schedule?
Yes. We run scheduled maintenance contracts, set at the interval the system needs. The report from each visit recommends the next date.
Do I get a report after the visit?
Yes. You get a written report with photos after each visit, covering the work, any areas we couldn’t access and the recommended next date. Kitchen extract cleans to TR19® Grease also get a certificate through the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal.
Looking after it afterwards
How long the results last depends on use and care. Here’s what we suggest:
- Never cook with the extract switched off
- Mop right into the edges and corners
- Report damaged surfaces early so they can be repaired
- Don’t let the extract cleaning slip
Equipment is put back in place before we leave, ready for your staff to check and start up. Nothing special is needed after that once it’s back in service.
Old grease hardens with every service. Booking one sooner keeps the work manageable, and keeps the kitchen ready for an inspection.
Commercial kitchens in Wix
Wix is about 60 miles from central London, well within the area we cover across London and the South East. We work evenings, overnight and at weekends, so the visit fits around the site. Kitchens in Wix get their food hygiene inspections from Tendring council. Grease behind equipment or on a ceiling is the kind of thing an inspection can note. Having the dates of the last deep clean to hand saves digging for them on the day.
If you run a church or community hall kitchen, near Church of St Mary or elsewhere in Wix, a deep clean and an emptied grease trap before a busy season of events are worth booking. Half-term is a good time for school kitchens, at schools like Wix and Wrabness Primary School for instance, to have the grease trap emptied and the kitchen deep cleaned.

What we’re called out for in Wix
In Wix and everywhere else, a working kitchen takes a hammering. Spills, splashes, steam and heat all leave their mark over time.
These are the problems we see most often:
- A new kitchen tenant inheriting a dirty kitchen
- Build-up behind fryers and ovens
- Signs of pests drawn by food debris
- Baked-on grease on ovens, ranges and grills
Historic houses such as Thorpe Hall (about 4.3 miles south) are part of the area around Wix, and if you run event catering at a venue like that, a deep clean between seasons helps.
What your quote should include
- Which accreditations they hold, and whether you can check them
- How areas they can’t reach will be recorded
- Whether they recommend a next date
- What hours they’ll be on site
Different parts, different methods
Floors
Removing grease from the floor cuts slip risks and makes daily cleaning easier.
Canopy exteriors
The inside of the canopy, the plenum and the ducts need a TR19 clean. Many kitchens book both together.
For landlords and multi-site operators
We regularly work with managing agents. Tell us the site, the work and the access arrangements and we will come back with a fixed quote.
If you look after several sites, we can plan visits across the whole estate and price them together. Every building has its own written report, so records stay tidy.
What we do, step by step
Protection comes first: sheeting goes over floors and surfaces close to the work. Then we make the system safe and start. It takes several hours, depending on the kitchen and the equipment in it, and we clear up before we go. A quick note on how to find the site and where to park makes a visit to Wix run smoothly.
- We look round the kitchen and agree exactly what’s included.
- Equipment is turned off and allowed to cool before anything else happens.
- Ceilings, walls and high-level surfaces are cleaned first, working downwards.
- The equipment, and the floor and walls around it, are degreased and cleaned.
- We finish with the floors and leave the kitchen ready to use.
Before we arrive
- Tell us the best time to work, such as after service or at a weekend
- Name a contact who can let us in at the agreed time
- Make sure equipment near the work can be switched off and left to cool
How to get a quote
The quickest way to a quote is to send photos: wide shots of the system, close-ups of anything that worries you and how we’d get to it. Add the site type and your opening hours, and we can price many jobs without a visit.
