Commercial kitchen deep cleaning: call for a fixed quote

What commercial kitchen deep cleaning involves

Daily cleaning keeps a kitchen running, but grease still finds its way behind fryers, under ranges, up the walls and across the ceiling. Over months it builds into a sticky layer that harbours dirt, looks bad and adds to the fire risk. A deep clean deals with all of it. We clean walls, ceilings, light fittings, floors and drains, and pull equipment out where it’s safe to do so to clean behind and underneath. Ranges, ovens, fryers, grills and stainless steel surfaces are degreased and cleaned. EHOs look at the cleanliness of the whole kitchen, including the extraction, so many kitchens book a deep clean alongside or between their TR19® Grease extract cleans. We work when you’re closed, overnight or at weekends, and leave the kitchen ready for the next service. Our article on EHOs and kitchen extraction explains what inspectors look at.

We cover London and the South East, and have done since 2009. We’re a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease, we hold CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001, and we’re fully insured.

How it works

  1. We walk the kitchen with you, or look at photos, and agree what’s included.
  2. Equipment is switched off and left to cool, and food and small items are cleared or covered.
  3. Ceilings, walls and light fittings are cleaned first, working from the top down.
  4. Cooking equipment is degreased and cleaned, behind and underneath where it can be moved safely.
  5. Floors and drains are cleaned last and the kitchen is handed back with photos of the work.

Pairing it with an extract clean

The canopy and ductwork carry grease out of the kitchen; the walls, ceiling and equipment catch the rest. Cleaning both on the same visit, or close together, means the whole kitchen is clean at once and you only have one closure to plan. It’s a common choice before a reopening, a change of tenant or an expected EHO visit. We can plan both jobs as one visit and one quote.

What we need from you

Tell us about any equipment that can’t be moved, gas or electrical connections we should know about, and where food and small items should be stored. We’ll agree what’s in and out of scope before we start, so there are no surprises on the night. If anything we find needs a gas engineer or electrician, we’ll point it out rather than touch it.

Why it’s worth doing now

Grease that daily cleaning misses doesn’t go away. It builds up behind equipment and on walls and ceilings, where it attracts dirt and pests and adds fuel to any fire. EHOs inspect the cleanliness of the whole kitchen, and a visible build-up is hard to explain. A deep clean resets the kitchen, so daily cleaning can keep it right from there. Before an inspection, a reopening or a handover is a sensible time to book one, and so is the point where your team can no longer get on top of it.

What affects the quote

We don’t publish set prices, because no two systems are the same. Send us a few details and photos, or book a survey, and we’ll give you a fixed price before any work starts. The main things that change it are:

  • The size of the system: number of canopies, length of ductwork, risers and fans
  • How much grease or dirt has built up since the last clean
  • Access: roof-level fans, ceiling voids, risers and how many access panels there are
  • When the work can happen: overnight, weekends or school holidays
  • Whether extras are needed, such as new access panels, filter exchange or damper testing
  • How many sites you want covered on one schedule

Read our guide to what affects the cost.

What a good quote includes

  • A survey or clear photos before the price is given
  • Exactly which parts of the system will be cleaned or tested
  • How areas that can't be reached will be recorded
  • A certificate or written report with before-and-after photos
  • Proof of insurance and accreditations you can check
  • The recommended date for the next visit

Afterwards

We hand the kitchen back ready for service, with photos of the work. Keep daily and weekly cleaning routines going, paying attention to the areas behind and under equipment, where grease builds up first. Book your extract cleans on schedule and consider a deep clean alongside them. We’ll suggest a sensible interval for your next deep clean, based on what we found.

Commercial kitchen deep cleaning: common questions

How often should a commercial kitchen be deep cleaned?

It depends on how busy the kitchen is and how well daily cleaning keeps up. Many kitchens book one alongside their extract cleans. We’ll suggest a frequency once we’ve seen the kitchen.

Can you clean behind heavy equipment?

Where equipment can be moved safely, yes. If something is fixed in place or connected in a way we shouldn’t disturb, we clean around it and tell you.

Will a deep clean help with an EHO inspection?

EHOs look at the cleanliness of the premises and equipment, including extraction. A deep clean puts the kitchen in good order, but your daily routines matter just as much.

Can you do the extract at the same time?

Yes. Many kitchens book the deep clean and TR19 extract clean on the same visit.

When do you work?

When the kitchen is closed: evenings, overnight, early mornings, weekends or school holidays.

Do you give a fixed price before you start?

Yes. Send a few details and photos, or book a survey, and we’ll give you a fixed quote, usually within one working day.

Do you work out of hours?

Yes. We work evenings, overnight and at weekends so your kitchen or building doesn’t lose a day, and there’s a 24/7 line for emergencies.
