About kitchen extract cleaning in W13
We’ve been trading since 2009, cleaning kitchen extracts across the South East and London. We are a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease, and we’re fully insured, with CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001. We are often asked to deal with years of baked-on grease in the ducts and an extract that no longer clears the smoke, across horizontal duct runs, extract fans and canopies and hoods.
On the day, we arrive at the time agreed with you, often in the evening, overnight or at the weekend so the site keeps working. Equipment that has to be off is switched off and allowed to cool before work begins, and floors and nearby surfaces are sheeted. On site, it takes anything from a few hours to a full night, depending on the size of the system.
- First comes a survey of the whole system, by photos or a visit.
- Set points are tested for grease thickness and the quote is fixed before any work starts.
- Once the kitchen has closed and the equipment has cooled, we sheet and protect the area.
- Canopy, plenum, filters, duct runs, risers, fan and discharge are all cleaned to TR19® Grease.
- Readings and pictures are taken again, and you receive a TR19 certificate and photo report.

Local landmarks in Ealing
Typical jobs here are in premises near Library for Iranian Studies, Great Ealing School and Christ the Saviour Church of England Primary School, among other places. Other local landmarks include Ealing Independent College (less than half a mile north), St Saviour's Church (within half a mile east), Walpole Park (less than half a mile north-east) and The Red Lion pub (under half a mile south-east). The nearest railway station is Ealing Broadway station, roughly 0.5 miles north-east. Kitchen extracts across W13
From Ealing, Northfields and South Ealing to its smaller places, W13 has kitchens of every size. Every one gets the same full TR19® clean, from the canopy to the discharge.
Across London and the South East, we work evenings, overnight and weekends, so sites across W13 do not have to lose a day.
Ealing: A kitchen near Ealing Broadway station that serves breakfast and dinner can run its extract twelve hours or more, which shortens the cleaning interval. Term dates shape school work: for a school like Ealing Independent College, an extract clean fits neatly into a half-term or summer break.
When something else is needed
In fairness, some problems need a different fix:
- Ductwork that is corroded, split or leaking (that is for a ductwork contractor)
- Fire dampers that won’t close (that needs damper testing and remedials)
- An undersized canopy or fan
In-house cleaning or a specialist?
In-house cleaning and specialist cleaning do different jobs. A daily filter wipe and a weekly filter wash keep grease down at the front of the system, but grease that has passed the filters is out of reach. That part needs specialist access and equipment.
Keep a record of what your team does. A dated log of in-house cleaning and checks helps show that the system is managed between specialist visits, next to our reports.
Why deal with it now?
If your kitchen in W13 is past its cleaning date, it’s worth booking now. The job takes as long as the system needs, from a few hours to several planned visits, and we work evenings, overnight and weekends so you don’t lose a service. Every extra month adds grease.
Questions to ask before booking
- Whether VAT is included
- When they can work, and whether that’s outside your opening hours
- If they look at the system before pricing
- What records you’ll receive afterwards
Managing agents and facilities teams in W13
Whether it’s one building or many, the standard is the same: a survey first, a fixed quote, the work timed around the site and a report with photos.
Where a tenant occupies the premises but the landlord owns the building, it’s worth checking the lease for who maintains the systems. We are happy to deal with either side and send the paperwork to whoever needs it.
Looking after it afterwards
Once we’ve finished, these simple steps help:
- Wash or exchange the filters often
- Refit filters properly after cleaning
- Switch the fan on before cooking starts
- Give the canopy a daily wipe
We hand the kitchen back clean, with the sheeting removed and waste taken away. Waste grease and water are contained and removed, so you can start cooking as normal.
Wipe the canopy down regularly and empty grease troughs or collection points. It won’t replace a TR19 clean, but it slows what reaches the duct.
Questions from W13
Which sectors do you work in?
Restaurants and pubs, hotels, schools and colleges, hospitals and care homes, offices and retail, plus food production and leisure sites.
Do you survey before quoting?
Yes. For many sites, pictures and a few details are enough, and larger or hidden systems get a visit.
What do you need from me for a quote?
Some photos and a quick description of the system, with the address and opening hours. If we need more, we’ll ask.
Do we have to close the kitchen for the clean?
When the kitchen is closed, at whatever time suits you. We need the equipment cool, and we leave the kitchen ready to cook.
How far ahead should we book?
Book as early as you can for planned work, especially if the next clean or test is due soon. For emergencies, we take calls 24/7.
Is a quote from photos possible?
Yes, where the pictures show enough. If not, a site survey comes first, and the quote follows that.
How often does a kitchen extract system need cleaning?
The minimum is set by BESA guidance on daily use, from 3-monthly to 12-monthly. Kitchens that fry or grill a lot may need cleaning sooner, which grease thickness testing will show.
