Our kitchen extract cleaning service in CR0
Has the extract gone a while without a clean, or has the paperwork gone missing? Just call 0345 646 2711 or email us with pictures of the canopy and filters, and we will come back with a fixed price for the work in CR0, normally within one working day. The work covers plenums and filters, discharge points and vertical risers, and common reasons people get in touch are grease smells coming from the extract and an overdue clean flagged by an EHO or fire officer.
Each visit runs to the same pattern: protect the area, isolate whatever needs isolating, carry out the kitchen extract cleaning, tidy up and leave you the report. The visit itself takes anything from a few hours to a full night, depending on the size of the system.
- You send photos or we visit, and the system is surveyed from canopy to discharge.
- Grease thickness is measured and the price is fixed before work starts.
- On the night, the equipment is off and cool and the kitchen is sheeted.
- Filters, canopy and plenum are cleaned, then the ducts, risers, fan and discharge.
- We re-test, photograph and send your certificate and photo report.
How we quote
One small site or a whole estate, we price it on the same basis: what needs doing, how we get to it and when. You’ll have a fixed price before any work starts.
What you get with us
- We are fully insured
- Fixed quotes, normally within one working day
- CHAS and SafeContractor accredited, with ISO 9001
- A BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease
Get a fixed quote
Every quote begins with a look at the system, from your photos and details or, where that is not enough, a survey on site. Then we send a fixed price so you know the cost before work begins.

Where we work in CR0
In CR0, we work in places such as London, Croydon and Broad Green and well beyond. We cover every place we list for CR0, 28 in all, and kitchens are cleaned around their opening hours, overnight and at weekends included.
From central London kitchens to coastal hotels and country pubs, London and the South East have every kind of site. The same TR19® standard applies to all of them, in CR0 and beyond.
London: School kitchens, at schools like Charles Dickens Primary School for example, are usually cleaned in the holidays so no lunches are lost. A kitchen near Elephant & Castle station that serves breakfast and dinner can run its extract twelve hours or more, which shortens the cleaning interval.
When something else is needed
We will not sell you work that does not address the problem, so here are the limits:
- A fan motor or bearings that have failed (that needs a fan repair or replacement)
- Extraction that can’t cope with the cooking because of its design
- Faulty fire dampers in the duct
What the work involves, part by part
Ductwork and risers
Long flat runs of duct are where grease collects. We open access panels along the route and clean each section, recording any that cannot be reached.
Grease filters
We clean the grease filters as part of the job, and refitted so they sit properly in the housing. Damaged ones are noted on the report.
Keeping the system healthy
No system stays clean for ever, but care slows the build-up. A few tips:
- Keep to the recommended cleaning interval
- Make sure every filter is fitted before cooking
- Flag any change in how the extract sounds or works
- Run the extract fan throughout cooking
When the clean is finished, grease readings are taken again at the same points, so you can see the difference in numbers as well as pictures. A TR19 certificate follows, issued through the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal.
Tell whoever looks after the system when something changes. Drips, odours and fan noise often mean grease is building, and a grease thickness test can confirm it.
What we are called out for in CR0
How fast grease builds up depends mostly on how long the kitchen cooks each day. BESA guidance sets minimum cleaning intervals of every 3 months for 12 to 16 hours a day, 6 months for 6 to 12 hours, and 12 months for 2 to 6 hours. Those are minimums, and grease readings can show a kitchen needs cleaning sooner.
It’s time to book a visit if you see:
- Poor airflow at the canopy
- A system with no record of a TR19 clean
- Grease smells coming from the extract
- Extraction mentioned at an environmental health visit
What your team can do, and what needs us
A few tasks are always specialist work: entering ducts, working on fans, testing dampers and taking grease readings call for the right kit, training and safe access. That is our job.
In-house cleaning and specialist cleaning do different jobs. A daily filter wipe and a weekly filter wash keep grease down at the front of the system, but grease that has passed the filters is out of reach. Reaching it takes a specialist with the right equipment.
Questions from CR0
What’s the right cleaning interval for a kitchen extract?
The minimum is set by BESA guidance on daily use, from 3-monthly to 12-monthly. Heavy frying and grilling can mean shorter intervals, and readings will tell you.
What happens if you cannot reach some of it?
They’re marked on the report. In ductwork, new access panels are often the answer, and we can fit those.
Which sectors do you work in?
We work for restaurants, pubs, hotels, schools, colleges, hospitals, care homes, offices and shops, as well as food production and leisure sites.
How do you keep the site clean during the work?
We cover floors and nearby surfaces with sheeting before work begins, and anything we remove is contained. Before we leave, we tidy up and clean down.
What do I get after the clean?
Yes, a TR19 certificate, along with a photo report. It records what was cleaned, what wasn’t accessible and the recommended next clean date.
Can you come out in an emergency?
Yes. If something urgent happens, like a fan failing or damage after a fire, call our 24/7 line, and we’ll advise on what to do next.
Do you look at the system first?
Yes, always. We diagnose before we treat: the survey shows what needs doing and what access we need and the fixed quote is built on it.
