Book a TR19 clean in CR8

Our kitchen extract cleaning service in CR8

Think of it as a health check for the kitchen’s airways: survey first, clean second, sign-off last. That clean bill of health comes as a TR19 certificate and a photo report, issued through the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal. We’re often asked to deal with fat running down the canopy edge and stale cooking odours from the system, on vertical risers, plenums and filters and horizontal duct runs.

The visit has three parts: getting the area ready, doing the work and signing it off. Set-up means sheeting and making equipment safe, and the sign-off is a written report with photos. The middle part takes longest, which takes one visit for most kitchens, while large or complex systems may need more than one.

  1. We survey the system, from your pictures or on site, canopy to discharge.
  2. We take grease readings at set points and send you a fixed quote.
  3. The kitchen is closed, the equipment cooled and everything nearby protected.
  4. We work through the system from the canopy to the fan and discharge.
  5. Readings are repeated, pictures taken, and your TR19 certificate and photo report issued.

How we quote

No two sites are the same, so each one gets its own fixed quote. Size, access, the condition of the system and when we can work all play a part.

Why book with us

  • Every job surveyed first
  • Photo reports with every job
  • Work around your opening hours, with 24/7 emergency cover
  • CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001

Ask for a quote

Photos are the quickest way to a quote: wide shots of the system, close-ups of anything that worries you and how we’d get to it. Add the site type and your opening hours, and we can price many jobs without a visit.

Around Purley

In Purley, that means kitchens and buildings near Laleham Lea School, The Jolly Farmers pub and Thomas More Catholic School. You will also find Christ Church CofE Primary School (Purley) (0.5 miles north-east), Dollypers Hill (1.8 miles south) and St Swithun's (within half a mile south-west). There’s a railway station in Purley itself: Purley station. Other landmarks nearby include Purley War Memorial Hospital (under half a mile north-east) and St George's Walk (2.7 miles north). Open spaces near Purley include Duppas Hill and Foxley Wood.

Where we work in CR8

Our kitchen extract cleaning work across CR8 takes in places such as Croydon, Coulsdon and Purley and the villages in between. Every place on our CR8 list (14 in all) is covered, with cleans booked around trading hours.

We work across London and the South East, and CR8 is part of that area. Each job starts with a survey and a fixed quote, wherever it is in CR8.

Purley: For kitchens close to Purley station, where the day often starts early and ends late, the extract can be cleaned overnight. A hospital like Purley War Memorial Hospital, about less than half a mile north-east, is the kind of site where a kitchen may cook for patients, staff and visitors all day.

What kitchen extract cleaning cannot fix

Before booking, it helps to know what’s not included:

  • Extraction that can’t cope with the cooking because of its design
  • A fan motor or bearings that have failed (that needs a fan repair or replacement)
  • Fire dampers that won’t close (that needs damper testing and remedials)

What staff can safely do

In-house cleaning and specialist cleaning do different jobs. A daily filter wipe and a weekly filter wash keep grease down at the front of the system, but grease that has passed the filters is out of reach. Reaching it takes a specialist with the right equipment.

When your team notices a problem between visits, like drips, unusual noise, smells or damaged filters, it’s best reported rather than tackled in-house. We’ll take a look and give you a fixed quote.

Between visits

No system stays clean for ever, but care slows the build-up. Our tips:

  • Keep the cleaning records where you can find them
  • Flag any change in how the extract sounds or works
  • Wash or exchange the filters often
  • Empty any grease troughs or cups on the canopy

Every clean ends with a photo report. It shows the system before and after, part by part, alongside a list of what was cleaned, anything out of reach and the recommended next clean date.

Stick to the cleaning interval on the certificate. If the kitchen starts cooking longer hours, the interval should be looked at again, and grease readings will show it.

Multi-site and managed buildings

Multi-site operators often want one contractor and one number. We work across London and the South East, so a run of sites can go into one programme and kept to a regular schedule.

Where a tenant occupies the premises but the landlord owns the building, the lease normally sets out who maintains what. We can quote either party and send the paperwork to whoever needs it.

Part by part

Ductwork and risers

Vertical risers carry the air up through the building, and grease runs down their walls and pools at the base. Access panels along the riser let us clean it in sections.

Extract fan and discharge

Attenuators, where fitted, can soak up grease and need attention. We clean what can be reached and note anything that cannot.

CR8 questions

Do we have to close the kitchen for the clean?

When the kitchen is closed, at whatever time suits you. We need the equipment cool, and we leave the kitchen ready to cook.

Do you offer emergency callouts?

Yes. Our emergency line runs 24/7 for anything that cannot wait until a planned visit. Ring any time and tell us what’s happened.

Will I get a certificate after the clean?

Every clean comes with a TR19 certificate and a photo report. They belong in the maintenance log so they’re to hand when an insurer asks.

Is a quote from photos possible?

Usually, yes. Send wide shots, close-ups of any access panels and anything that worries you, and we typically come back within one working day. If photos are not enough, we will survey first.

How do you keep the site clean during the work?

By covering it before any work starts. We keep the work contained and clean down when we finish.

Do you work with multi-site operators?

Yes. Our area covers London and the South East, so we can schedule a run of sites on one programme. Every site has its own report.

Where does the waste go?

We contain it and take it with us. Grease, debris and waste water are collected as the work goes on rather than letting it spread.
