Need ventilation duct cleaning in Thorney Island?

Ventilation duct cleaning in Thorney Island, done properly

Every ventilation system has ducts bringing air in and ducts taking it out. Over time, both collect dust and debris, and some of it is blown back into the building. Our cleaning covers the ducts, grilles and diffusers, to TR19® Air. We’re often asked to deal with dirty diffusers dropping dust into rooms and poor airflow from the vents, on offices and schools, toilet extract systems and supply ductwork.

In rural areas, ventilation units are often in roof voids or outbuildings, where filters and drain trays get forgotten.

The report is your system’s health record: a dated account with pictures of everything we did. Grease extract cleans are also certificated to TR19® Grease through the BESCA VHE portal, ready for your insurer.

How the visit works

We’re used to working while the site is closed. A lot of visits happen overnight or at weekends, so the site can open as normal afterwards. The visit itself takes anything from a single shift for a small office to a planned programme of nights for a large building. Pictures of the system and its access let us plan the work in Thorney Island before we set off.

  1. First we plan when the work can happen, often out of hours.
  2. Access panels are opened along each run.
  3. Before pictures are taken and the ducts cleaned section by section.
  4. We clean the grilles and diffusers and put them back.
  5. We take after photos and send the certificate and report.

Preparing for the visit

  • Find the previous report, if there is one
  • Tell us where we can park and unload
  • Plan for cooking equipment or plant to be off before we arrive

Between visits

After the visit, a few habits help the work last:

  • Report leaks or damp near ceilings and risers
  • Keep vents and grilles clear of shelving and stock
  • Book the next inspection on the date the report recommends
  • Protect the system from construction dust

Pass the paperwork to your facilities or maintenance team, so it’s all in one place. Over time, it shows how quickly the system gets dirty.

Fit access panels where the ductwork can’t be reached. The worst build-up tends to be where no one can look.

Signs you need ventilation duct cleaning in Thorney Island

Many systems run for long hours, day after day, and every hour moves more dust through the ducts. Heavier use means faster build-up.

Keep an eye out for any of the following:

  • Ventilation that needs a TR19® Air inspection
  • Grilles and diffusers streaked with dirt
  • Ducts that need a clean before handover
  • Dusty supply ductwork that hasn’t been cleaned in years

Healthcare buildings such as Havant War Memorial Hospital, about 3.2 miles north-west, depend on their ventilation; if you manage a surgery, clinic or care home near Thorney Island, yours matters too.

Questions to ask before you book

  • Exactly which parts of the system are covered
  • Their accreditations, such as BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite, CHAS or SafeContractor
  • Whether inaccessible sections are listed on the report
  • Whether the quote shows VAT

Questions to ask before you book

For landlords and multi-site operators

Whether it’s one building or many, the standard is the same: diagnosis, a fixed price, work booked around your hours and a written report with pictures.

Multi-site operators often want one contractor and one number. We work across London and the South East, so visits at different addresses can be planned together and kept to a regular schedule.

What affects the cost of ventilation duct cleaning

A fixed price needs a few facts first. We check:

  • Any permits to work or inductions
  • Whether several sites go on one quote
  • The times the site is available
  • The scale of the work

What you pay depends on how big the system is, what state it’s in and how easy it is to reach. We give you a fixed price before any work starts, so there are no surprises.

Helping us quote

When you contact us, these details help:

  • The roof, plant room or outside wall the system runs to
  • Wide photos of the system and the area around it
  • Any symptoms, from odd noises to smells or leaks
  • The times we could work without disrupting the site

Photos are the quickest way to a quote: wide shots of the system, close-ups of anything that worries you and how we’d get to it. Tell us what kind of site it is and when it’s open, and many jobs can be priced from that alone.

How the job changes from site to site

Offices and retail

Multi-let buildings may share ductwork between tenants. We plan access with the managing agent.

Schools and colleges

Schools and colleges are easiest to clean during the holidays, when classrooms are empty.

Thorney Island questions

Can you do ventilation duct cleaning in Thorney Island?

Yes. Our area runs across London and the South East, Thorney Island included. Just call us on 0345 646 2711 or email us with a few details of the site.

Is Thorney Island within the area you cover?

Yes. Thorney Island is within the area we cover across London and the South East. The journey is planned ahead, so a few details about the route help.

Who has the legal duty for fire safety?

That depends on who controls the premises. The Fire Safety Order 2005 puts the duty on the responsible person, which may be the employer, owner, landlord, facilities manager or managing agent.

How much notice do you need?

Earlier is better, especially for out-of-hours work. We usually quote within one working day, and emergencies are covered by our 24/7 line.

When should our ventilation next be cleaned?

Under TR19® Air, the answer comes from inspecting the ducts. Heavily used buildings, or those with vulnerable occupants, may need attention more often.

Are you accredited?

CHAS, SafeContractor, ISO 9001 and BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite membership, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease. We are fully insured and have been trading since 2009.

What if parts of the system cannot be reached?

We never leave them off the paperwork. You will know exactly which parts weren’t reached and why, and we can quote to improve the access.

Do you have a 24/7 line?

Yes, 24/7. Our office is open from 8am to 6pm on weekdays, and the emergency line covers the rest.

Staff cleaning versus specialist work

Staff cleaning and specialist work are not the same thing. A daily filter wipe and a weekly filter wash keep grease down at the front of the system, but they don’t reach the grease that builds up further in. That part needs specialist access and equipment.

For ventilation and air handling systems, in-house care is mostly about checks: clear grilles, a log of filter changes and reporting anything odd. The inside of ducts and units needs a specialist.
