How we handle ventilation duct cleaning in Chichester
Beyond the kitchen, TR19® Air covers the ordinary supply and extract systems that serve offices, schools and other buildings. It’s risk-based and inspection-led, so we look before we clean. We are often asked to deal with ventilation full of debris from building work and poor airflow from the vents, across supply ductwork, general extract ductwork and toilet extract systems.
Buildings in towns like Chichester often have ventilation added in stages, with units on the roof or in a plant room. An inspection shows which parts need cleaning.
The sign-off is always in writing: a dated report with pictures of the work, and for TR19® Grease cleans, a certificate issued through the BESCA VHE portal. Any parts we couldn’t reach are recorded on it too.

Signs you need ventilation duct cleaning in Chichester
Moisture in ducts makes dust stick. Condensation and leaks turn loose dust into a stubborn layer, and it becomes harder to remove.
Common reasons sites call us are:
- Ductwork that hasn’t been inspected
- Damp or stale smells from grilles
- Blocked general extract ductwork
- Ductwork never cleaned since it was installed
Workplaces around Chichester station with an air handling unit need the filters, coils and drain tray looked at, as well as the ducts.
What your quote should include
- Whether they recommend a next date
- Proof of insurance
- Which accreditations they hold, and whether you can check them
- How areas they cannot reach will be recorded
Why deal with it now?
Smells, dust around grilles and stuffy rooms are signs the system needs attention. Acting early keeps the clean simpler. A small fault found now is a quick job; the same fault found later can close the site.
The cost depends on how big the system is, the condition it’s in and access to every part of it. You get a fixed price before work begins, so you know where you stand.
Why us?

Chichester questions
Can the work in Chichester be done at night or at weekends?
Yes, nights and weekends are routine for us. It means the site in Chichester keeps running as normal. Your opening times are the first thing we ask for.
Can you do ventilation duct cleaning in Chichester?
Yes. Our area runs across London and the South East, Chichester included. A fixed quote typically follows within one working day of the survey details.
What is TR19?
A BESA specification in two main parts: TR19® Grease for kitchen extract systems and TR19® Air for general ventilation. It is not legislation, but it’s the standard people check against.
Do we need to close while you work?
Not normally. The area we’re working in has to be out of use while we are there, so we book a time when it would be closed anyway.
Are you accredited?
BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite membership, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease, plus CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001. We’re fully insured and have been trading since 2009.
Can you set up regular visits?
Yes. Regular plans can run on 3, 6 or 12-monthly cycles, to suit the system and how it’s used.
Can one contract cover all our sites?
Yes. One number covers all your sites across London and the South East, with visits on a regular schedule.
Do you have a 24/7 line?
Yes. Our emergency line runs 24/7 for anything that cannot wait until a planned visit. Call us any time and explain what’s happened.
What we do, step by step
There are three stages on the day: getting the area ready, doing the work and signing it off. Getting ready means protecting surfaces and switching off what needs to be off, and the sign-off is a written report with photos. The middle part takes longest, which takes a shift or two for a small system, longer for a whole building. A few pictures of the system and its access points help us plan a visit in Chichester.
- First we check the layout and any past paperwork.
- We inspect the ducts at chosen points to see where cleaning is needed.
- We cover the area below and turn off the system.
- We clean the system and remove the debris from site.
- The report records what was cleaned, anything not reached and a next inspection date.
Preparing for the visit
- Let us know about permits to work or site inductions
- Move anything stored near the system
- Agree a time when the area can be out of use

Photos are enough for some jobs, while others need a look on site. Larger sites, and anything hidden behind walls, ceilings or floors, are normally surveyed first. Either way, you get a fixed price before we start.

What affects the quote in Chichester
A fixed price needs a few facts first. We look at:
- The size of the system
- One-off work versus a regular cycle
- Travel, parking and unloading
- Whether we need access equipment or extra panels
Leaving it longer rarely makes the work cheaper. Problems in a system tend to grow, and a neglected system can mean more work. If you are unsure, call us on 0345 646 2711, or send details by email and we will give you an honest view and a fixed quote.
What to send for a quote
What to send for a quote:
- Close-ups of filters, grilles, hatches or access panels
- The site address and the type of premises
- How we’d reach plant on a roof or in a plant room
- Any previous report or certificate
We don’t publish a price list, because every site is different. We look at your system first, from photos or on a visit, then send a fixed quote. To start, give us a ring on 0345 646 2711 or email us.

What your team can do, and what needs us
Some jobs should never be done in-house: opening up ductwork, cleaning fans, drop testing fire dampers and measuring grease call for the right kit, training and safe access. Leave those to us.
Away from the kitchen, the in-house job is mainly checking: keeping grilles clear, noting unusual noise or smells and logging filter changes. Cleaning inside ducts and units is specialist work.
How the job changes from site to site
Grilles and diffusers
Dust marks around grilles can point to dirt further back in the system. The grilles are cleaned and the ducts behind inspected.
Schools and colleges
The work is fitted around term dates and events, with access agreed with the caretaker or site manager.
