TR19 inspection for sites in Richmond

Landlords, agents and facilities managers

We also work for facilities teams across offices, schools and healthcare across Greater London. Larger estates can be phased building by building to keep disruption down.

Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, the responsible person must assess and reduce fire risk, which may be the employer, owner, landlord, FM or managing agent. Where responsibility is shared, records matter even more.

About our TR19 inspection in Richmond

A fixed schedule doesn’t always match how a kitchen really cooks. In a busy kitchen, grease can build faster than the minimum intervals allow for, and only measurement shows it. Our readings give your risk assessment real numbers to work from. If you have insurers asking for TR19 evidence and kitchen extract systems with no recent grease readings, we can help, from access surveys, pre-clean surveys and wet film thickness tests onwards.

Kitchens in Richmond, like many across London, can share a building with flats or offices, with the duct running up through shared risers. Grease in a duct like that is a fire risk to the whole building, not just the kitchen, so a regular TR19® clean protects everyone in it.

We’ve been trading since 2009, as a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease. CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001 are in place too, and we’re fully insured.

TR19 inspection around Richmond

The FSA’s food hygiene register includes about 49 bars, pubs and nightclubs and about 6 hotels, B&Bs and guest houses in Richmond and the streets around it, up to about 1.5 miles out. Where they serve hot food, their kitchen extracts need cleaning to TR19® like any restaurant’s. In London, kitchens are normally cleaned overnight, when the kitchen is closed and loading is easier. London Fire Brigade covers Richmond. Fire and rescue authorities enforce the Fire Safety Order in most non-domestic premises, and in a kitchen that fire risk includes the grease in the extract.

Where a hall near The Vineyard Church, or anywhere in Richmond, hosts lunch clubs or events, its extract gathers grease just as a café’s does. Commuter trade near Richmond station can mean long cooking hours, and long hours put a kitchen into BESA’s more frequent cleaning bands.

Richmond is about 5 miles south-west of Kensington, in Greater London. Richmond gets the same approach as every site we work on: a survey first, a fixed quote, work timed around your hours and a report with photos. Richmond is one of 764 places in Greater London we cover for commercial clients. Our London page covers sites nearby (9 miles or so).

We work across TW9, TW1 and TW10 for TR19 inspection and the streets around it. If you need TR19 inspection at premises on Kew Road, Dee Road and Park Road or anywhere close by, we can help. What affects the cost of TR19 inspection

The diagnosis comes before the price. We look at:

  • Travel, parking and unloading
  • Any permits to work or inductions
  • Whether it’s a one-off visit or part of a schedule
  • When the work can happen, such as evenings, overnight or weekends

The price reflects the work, not guesswork. That is why every job is surveyed first, and the price is agreed before work begins.

What to send for a quote

There’s no need for technical detail. Just send:

  • Your opening hours and when the area is out of use
  • Any symptoms, from odd noises to smells or leaks
  • Close-ups of filters, grilles, hatches or access panels
  • Any previous report or certificate

For TR19 inspection in Richmond, call 0345 646 2711 or drop us a line. Tell us what kind of premises it is and when it’s open, and send photos or your last report if you can. A fixed quote normally follows within one working day.

Leave it or put it right?

Don’t wait for an EHO visit or insurance renewal to find gaps in your extract records. An inspection now gives a site in Richmond a current picture. Every month a London system goes without attention adds to what has to be done later.

Combining work into one visit or one programme can make for a more efficient booking. Mention every system or site you need covered, and you will get one fixed quote.

Why book with us

  • Full insurance on every job
  • Accredited under CHAS and SafeContractor, with ISO 9001
  • A written report with pictures after each visit
  • Work around your opening hours, with 24/7 emergency cover

What the work involves, part by part

Vertical risers

Risers in multi-storey buildings can pass through other areas, so we arrange access ahead of time.

Extract fan and discharge

We look at where the extract discharges outside, since grease reaches the very end of the system.

What happens on the day

We turn up at the time agreed with you, often in the evening, overnight or at the weekend so the site keeps working. Anything that needs to be off for the work is switched off and left to cool before any work starts, and floors and nearby surfaces are sheeted. The work itself takes around an hour or two per canopy and duct system. In Richmond, as across London, we usually work overnight or at weekends and hand the site back ready to open.

  1. First we book a time that will not disrupt cooking.
  2. Every part of the system is examined, end to end.
  3. Grease thickness is measured at set points by WFTT or DTT.
  4. Each test point and any access problems are photographed.
  5. The findings go into a report with readings, pictures and a recommended next clean.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Tell us the best time to work, such as after service or at a weekend
  • Mention any parking or loading restrictions
  • Let us know about permits to work or site inductions

Ask for a quote

For a fixed quote, call 0345 646 2711, or send details by email with the site type, your trading hours and a short description of the system. Photos and the last report, if you have one, make the quote quicker. You’ll normally have a quote within one working day.

Richmond: your questions answered

What do you need to know about parking in Richmond?

Tell us where a van can stop near your site in Richmond, and about any building rules on loading. Much of our London work is done overnight, which helps.

Who inspects food businesses in Richmond?

The local authority for Richmond is Richmond-Upon-Thames council, and its environmental health team does the inspecting. Ratings are published by the Food Standards Agency, so a clean extract and good records are worth keeping up.

What happens if you can’t reach some of it?

The report shows them clearly. Often the fix is extra access, such as new panels in ductwork, which we can install.

Do you check other contractors’ cleans?

Post-clean verification is a check after a clean, with fresh grease readings and pictures. It works whoever carried out the clean.

What does TR19 inspection cost?

We do not publish prices, because the cost depends on the job: how big it is, what state it’s in, how we reach it and the working hours. You get a fixed price before we start.

Do you survey before quoting?

Yes, every time. Diagnosis comes before treatment: the survey shows what needs doing and what access we need, and the quote is based on that.

Which kinds of sites do you work on?

Any site with a kitchen or a ventilation system to look after, from a small pub to a hospital. We work with hotels, schools, care homes, offices, retail and leisure sites.

What information do you need?

Just the basics: where it is, what kind of site, when it’s open and the access. Photos and any previous paperwork make it quicker. Then ring 0345 646 2711, or email photos.

Aftercare tips

Aftercare is simple, and it helps at the next visit:

  • Store grease readings where your insurer can see them
  • Keep grease filters clean and fitted properly
  • Keep the route to access panels clear
  • Keep to the recommended interval

Keep the verification report next to the certificate it relates to. Together they show the system was cleaned and checked.

Keep certificates, reports and readings in one place so you can produce them quickly.

What we are called out for in Richmond

Grease builds up as cooking vapour cools inside the extract. It often collects where nobody can see it: the plenum, bends and horizontal runs.

Most sites get in touch after spotting one of these:

  • Kitchens whose menu or hours have changed
  • Surveys needed before quoting a full clean
  • Insurance renewals needing proof of TR19 cleaning
  • Confirming a clean reached the whole system

Term dates shape school work: for a school like The Vineyard School, an extract clean fits neatly into a half-term or summer break.

What to look for in a quote

  • Exactly which parts of the system are covered
  • Whether the figure could change on the day
  • Whether a written report and pictures are included
  • Their accreditations, such as BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite, CHAS or SafeContractor
