TR19 inspection in Hackbridge

TR19 inspection in Hackbridge

A pre-clean survey is the diagnosis, and the clean is the treatment. We look at the system, take grease readings and photograph what we find, so the clean can be planned properly. The work covers pre-clean surveys, deposit thickness tests and insurer audits, and people most often call us about post-clean verification after another contractor’s clean and pre-clean surveys before a first TR19 clean.

London kitchens tend to trade late and open early, so extract cleaning in Hackbridge is normally done overnight, after the last service. Before the clean, we agree loading, parking and roof access with whoever manages the building.

Accreditations are easy to claim and worth checking. Ours are BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite membership, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease, plus CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001, and we are fully insured.

Why deal with it now?

Surveying first means the clean goes to plan. Access problems are spotted in advance rather than on the night, and the quote reflects the real job. In Hackbridge, a planned overnight visit is much easier than closing unexpectedly.

What you pay depends on how big the system is, the condition it’s in and how easy it is to reach. You get a fixed price before we start, so there are no surprises.

Why book with us

  • One number for every site across the South East and London

Some problems need a different service or another trade:

  • A faulty or failing extract fan
  • Hidden runs that need access panels first

If in doubt, phone us on 0345 646 2711 or drop us a line and we’ll say what we think before you book.

How the visit works

Protection comes first: floors, worktops and anything near the work are covered. Then we make the system safe and start. The work on site takes around an hour or two per canopy and duct system, and we clear up before we go. In a London area like Hackbridge, parking, loading and building access are planned before the day of the work.

  1. After the clean, we arrange a time to check the system.
  2. The same access points are opened up.
  3. Grease readings are taken again at set points.
  4. Photos are taken to show the condition after the clean.
  5. The results are reported, with anything missed flagged.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Make sure someone can let us in and lock up afterwards
  • Tell us about site rules, permits or sign-in
  • Tell us where we can park and unload

Advice

Hackbridge: your questions answered

Do you do school kitchen extract cleaning in Hackbridge in the summer holidays?

Yes. The holidays are the usual time for school work. The FSA’s register shows about 30 schools and colleges with food registrations within roughly a mile and a half of Hackbridge. Tell us your holiday dates and we will book the visit for when the site is empty.

What do you need to know about parking in Hackbridge?

A loading bay, a visitor permit or off-street space near the site in Hackbridge makes the visit easier to plan. Much of our London work is done overnight, which helps.

Is Hackbridge in your area?

Yes. We work across Greater London, Surrey, Kent, Sussex, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire and Essex, Hackbridge included.

How much does TR19 inspection cost in Hackbridge?

The cost depends on the size of the system, its condition, access and timing. Ask us for a fixed quote, normally ready within one working day.

Do we have to follow TR19 by law?

No, TR19® isn’t legislation. But the responsible person must assess and reduce fire risk under the Fire Safety Order 2005, which in a kitchen includes grease in the extract. Many insurers also expect TR19 cleaning.

Do you look at the system first?

Yes. For many sites, photos and a few details are enough, and larger or hidden systems get a visit.

Do you work out of hours?

Yes, and it’s often the best time. The visit is timed for when the area is not in use, such as late evening, overnight or a weekend.

Can you verify a clean after it’s been done?

It’s an inspection after cleaning, to show what state the system was left in, for our cleans and other firms’ alike.

Multi-site and managed buildings

For anyone managing more than one site, we can plan visits across the whole estate and price them together. Every building has its own written report, so each one has its own record.

We regularly work with managing agents. Send the address, what’s needed and how access works and we will come back with a fixed quote.

Hackbridge kitchens: local notes

The FSA’s data shows about 11 bars, pubs and nightclubs registered in and around Hackbridge, up to about a mile and a half out. Wherever they cook, the canopy, duct and fan collect grease just as a restaurant’s do. Fire safety in Hackbridge falls to London Fire Brigade. In most workplaces, including commercial kitchens, it’s the fire and rescue authority that enforces the Fire Safety Order. Night work suits London kitchens, and roads and loading bays tend to be quieter too.

Where a hall near St. Mark's Church, or anywhere in Hackbridge, hosts lunch clubs or events, its extract gathers grease just as a café’s does. If you run a café or takeaway near Mitcham Eastfields station, early starts and late finishes leave little time to clean, so overnight extract cleaning suits. Healthcare kitchens, like those at hospitals such as Wilson Hospital (about 0.5 miles south-west), often cook for long hours, which puts them in BESA’s heavier-use bands.

Different parts, different methods

Horizontal duct runs

Grease can gather thickly at bends and along long runs, out of sight of the kitchen.

Vertical risers

Risers in multi-storey buildings can pass through other areas, so access is planned in advance.

How we price TR19 inspection

There’s no set price list, because sites vary so much. What we look at:

  • Whether several sites go on one quote
  • The condition of the system
  • The times the site is available
  • The scale of the work

The price reflects the work, not guesswork. That is why we survey first, from photos or on site, and why the quote is fixed before any work starts.

Asking for a quote

Photos and a few facts are often enough to price the work. Send what you can of the following:

  • Your last certificate, test record or report
  • Close-ups of filters, grilles, hatches or access panels
  • Problems your staff have spotted
  • Photos showing the whole system and its surroundings

Photos are the quickest way to a quote: wide shots of the system, close-ups of anything that worries you and how we’d get to it. Add the site type and your opening hours, and many jobs can be priced from that alone.

Between visits

Aftercare is simple, and it makes the next visit easier:

  • Flag oily drips near the extract
  • Clean grease off the canopy between professional cleans
  • Have the latest report ready for insurance renewals
  • Don’t box in or cover duct access panels

Each report suggests the next clean and the next test, from the measured grease and the kitchen’s hours.

Test grease regularly instead of relying on the calendar. It spots changes in how fast grease builds.
