Kitchen extract cleaning across CR4: what to expect

We have been trading since 2009, cleaning kitchen extracts across the South East and London. As a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, we clean to BESA TR19® Grease, and we hold CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001 and are fully insured. The work covers extract fans, canopies and hoods and vertical risers, and common reasons people get in touch are a kitchen taken over without any extract records and a smoky, hot kitchen with weak extraction.

Your trading hours come first. Most visits are booked for when the area is out of use, such as evenings, overnight, early mornings or weekends. When the team arrives, the work area is protected and the relevant equipment is switched off to cool, and the job takes one visit for most kitchens, while large or complex systems may need more than one.

  1. You send pictures or we visit, and the system is surveyed from canopy to discharge.
  2. Grease thickness is measured and the price is fixed before work starts.
  3. On the night, the equipment is off and cool and the kitchen is sheeted.
  4. Filters, canopy and plenum are cleaned, then the ducts, risers, fan and discharge.
  5. We re-test, photograph and send your certificate and photo report.

How we quote

What you pay depends on the size of the system, what state it’s in and access to every part of it. You get a fixed price before any work starts, so you know where you stand.

Why book with us

  • Survey first, then a fixed quote
  • BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease
  • Out-of-hours work and a 24/7 emergency line
  • Photo reports with every job

Getting a quote

Every quote begins with a look at the system, from your pictures and details or, where that isn’t enough, a survey on site. After that, you get a fixed price for the work, before we start.

What’s near Eastfields

In Eastfields, that means kitchens and buildings near Figge's Marsh, Furzedown Secondary School and The White Lion of Mortimer pub, among other places. Also close by are St. Mark's Church (within half a mile south-west), St Mark's Church of England Academy (less than half a mile south-east) and Lonesome Primary School (within half a mile east). Eastfields has its own railway station: Mitcham Eastfields station. Well-known places in the area include Centrale Croydon (3.1 miles south-east) and Wandle Industrial Museum (0.7 miles south-west). Green spaces nearby include Henman Hill and Oakleigh Way.

Kitchen extract cleaning around CR4

Kitchens across CR4 cook for very different hours, from all-day town-centre sites to part-time hall and school kitchens. Grease readings and BESA’s minimum intervals set the schedule for each.

CR4 is within the area we cover, which takes in London and the South East. Every job is surveyed first and quoted at a fixed price, wherever it is in CR4.

Eastfields: For kitchens close to Mitcham Eastfields station, where the day often starts early and ends late, the extract can be cleaned overnight. A hall kitchen that only cooks for events, whether near St. Mark's Church or elsewhere in Eastfields, still needs its extract cleaned, just less often.

For landlords and multi-site operators

Landlords, managing agents and facilities managers book us, not only the businesses that use the systems. Shared systems, like a riser serving several units, need a clear agreement on who books the work, and we can quote for the whole system.

Managing agents often deal with us directly. Send the address, what’s needed and how access works and we’ll come back with a fixed quote.

What your team can do, and what needs us

Good housekeeping makes our visits easier, not unnecessary. Regular in-house cleaning slows the build-up, but hidden parts of the system still need specialist attention.

Keep a record of what your team does. A dated log of in-house cleaning and checks shows an inspector that the system is looked after between visits, next to our reports.

Why act early?

Every week without a clean adds another layer. BESA guidance says the mean should not go above 200 microns between cleans, and anywhere reaching 500 microns or more needs a spot clean right away. Heavy build-up takes longer to remove than regular cleans.

Questions to ask before booking

  • Whether they’re fully insured
  • When the next visit should be, and why
  • Whether the quote shows VAT
  • If the quote is a fixed price or an estimate

Honest limits

We’d rather tell you now than book work that won’t help, so these are the things it will not cover:

  • Fat blocking the kitchen drains
  • A fan motor or bearings that have failed (that needs a fan repair or replacement)
  • A duct that is holed or coming apart

How we price kitchen extract cleaning

Before we fix a price, we need to know a few things. We check:

  • The times the site is available
  • One-off work versus a regular cycle
  • How many systems or sites are involved
  • Parking and loading at the site

Kitchens, offices, schools and hospitals are all priced the same way: how much there is, how we reach it, what state it’s in and when we can work. Ask for a fixed quote and we will go through it with you.

Asking for a quote

A few details help us quote accurately. When you get in touch, it helps to send:

  • How we’d reach plant on a roof or in a plant room
  • The site address and the type of premises
  • Any previous report or certificate
  • The times we could work without disrupting the site

We don’t publish a price list, because no two systems are the same. Instead, we look at your site first, from pictures or a survey, and then send you a fixed quote. To start, call us on 0345 646 2711 or use the quote form.

Questions from CR4

Is CR4 in your area?

Yes. We work in CR4 and across Greater London, as part of our work across South East England and London. To book, ring 0345 646 2711, or send details by email.

What paperwork comes with a kitchen extract clean?

You get both a certificate and a photo report. Keep them in the maintenance log with the fire risk assessment, ready for your insurer or an inspection.

Do you offer emergency callouts?

Yes, any time. For anything urgent, such as a fan failure or damage after a fire, ring the 24/7 line and we’ll talk you through the next steps.

How do you protect the area?

By covering it before any work starts. The work is kept contained and clean down when we finish.

What information do you need?

Where the site is, what it is and when it’s open, plus pictures of the system and your last certificate or report if you have one.

Will the clean disrupt our service?

Out of hours: evenings, overnight, early mornings or weekends. We need the equipment cool, and we leave the kitchen ready to cook.

Do you look at the system first?

Yes. We always survey first, from your pictures and details, or with a visit where necessary. A fixed quote follows.
