Grease filter exchange near Felcourt

Part by part

Canopy filter housings

The filter housing holds each filter at an angle in the canopy. If it’s bent or greasy, filters will not seat properly.

Busy restaurant and pub kitchens

Kitchens that fry and grill all day load their filters fast. They often need the shortest exchange interval.

About our grease filter exchange in Felcourt

The filters in the canopy are the first thing cooking vapour meets. They catch grease before it reaches the plenum and ductwork and they do it best when they’re clean. Our grease filter exchange service swaps dirty filters for clean ones on a schedule. If you’re dealing with filter washing that keeps being missed and filters so greasy the air can barely pass, we can help, from mesh filters, island canopies and baffle filters onwards.

Somewhere as small as Felcourt, commercial kitchens are few: perhaps a pub, a school or care home kitchen, or a hall used for events. Each still has a canopy and duct that collect grease, whatever the size of the place.

The report is your system’s health record: a dated account with photos of everything we did. For TR19® Grease cleans, the certificate comes through the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal, ready for your insurer.

For landlords and multi-site operators

For anyone managing more than one site, we can plan visits across the whole estate and price them together. Each site gets its own report and photos, so records stay tidy.

Multi-site operators often want one contractor and one number. We cover South East England and London, so a run of sites can go into one programme and kept on a regular cycle.

What happens on the day

Every visit runs to the same pattern: sheeting and protection first, make the system safe, do the work, clear away and hand over the paperwork. On site, the work takes a short visit, depending on how many filters the canopies hold. We agree a date with you, plan the drive to Felcourt and turn up when the site is quiet.

  1. We record the number, size and type of your filters.
  2. We set the interval with you.
  3. On each visit, we remove the greasy filters.
  4. Clean filters go in and we check they sit snugly.
  5. We take the greasy set away and confirm the next date.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Let us know how we reach the system, including roofs, risers and plant rooms
  • Move anything stored near the system
  • Mention any sign-in, permit or induction we need

Ask for a quote

There’s no standard price list, because every site is different. Instead, we look at your site first, from pictures or a survey, and then send you a fixed quote. To start, give us a ring on 0345 646 2711 or email us.

Why deal with it now?

When filters block, extraction suffers. The kitchen gets hotter and smokier while the fan strains. A regular exchange keeps the airflow where it should be. Systems in rural buildings are often out of sight and out of mind.

Whatever the type of site, the quote works the same way: how much there is, how we reach it, what state it’s in and when we can work. Call for a fixed quote and we will explain each part.

Why us?

  • Trading since 2009
  • A fixed price before any work starts
  • Photo reports with every job
  • Every job surveyed first

What grease filter exchange can’t fix

We will not sell you work that does not address the problem, so here are the limits:

  • A canopy that needs a proper clean
  • Cooking smells reaching neighbours, which need odour control
  • Grease deep in the extract system

If in doubt, give us a ring on 0345 646 2711 or use the quote form and we will say what we think.

Where we work

  • Island canopies
  • School and hospital kitchens
  • Mesh filters
  • Wall canopies
  • Baffle filters
  • Restaurants and pubs

Keeping the system healthy

After the visit, a few habits help the work last:

  • Clean the canopy surfaces regularly
  • Book full TR19 cleans alongside filter changes
  • Tell us if a filter is bent or damaged
  • Report a dripping canopy early

Fresh filters improve airflow at the canopy straight away. Always run the extract during cooking so the filters do their job.

If filters are already dripping, they’re overdue. Changing them now reduces the fuel above the cooking, and it’s worth checking the plenum too.

Felcourt: your questions answered

Can school kitchens in Felcourt be cleaned in the holidays?

Yes, holiday work suits schools best. There are about 3 schools, colleges and universities on the FSA’s food hygiene register within about 1.5 miles of Felcourt. You can phone us on 0345 646 2711 or send us an email with the dates the site is empty.

Do you work overnight in Felcourt?

Yes, we can come after you close and finish before you open. That way a site in Felcourt does not have to lose a day’s trading. Just ring 0345 646 2711 or email us with your opening times and we will plan around them.

Do we need to close while you work?

Not typically. Booking the work out of hours means the site can carry on as normal. Bigger sites can be done in stages to keep things running.

Can you look after several sites?

Yes. You deal with one contact for every site in our area, with visits on a regular schedule.

Do you look at the system first?

Yes, always. We diagnose before we treat: the survey tells us what the system needs and how to reach it and the fixed quote is built on it.

Does the report say when we need you again?

Yes. The recommended date is on the report. For kitchen extracts, BESA’s minimum intervals run from every 3 months for heavy use to every 12 months for light use, while fire dampers are tested at least annually.

Do you clean filters as well as exchanging them?

We offer filter cleaning as well as exchange. We will talk you through which suits your kitchen when you get in touch.

Who has the legal duty for fire safety?

Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, it’s the responsible person: normally the employer or whoever controls the premises. In shared or managed buildings, a landlord, facilities manager or managing agent can share the duty.

Grease filter exchange in Felcourt: the local picture

Food Standards Agency records include about 6 bars, pubs and nightclubs in Felcourt and the streets around it, up to about 1.5 miles out. Where they serve hot food, their kitchen extracts need cleaning to TR19® like any restaurant’s. In Felcourt, food businesses are inspected by environmental health officers from Tandridge council. The cleanliness of the kitchen and its equipment, extraction included, is part of what they check. A TR19® certificate and photo report after each clean gives you a record to show an inspector. Felcourt sits within the area of West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service. Its fire safety officers can audit commercial kitchens, and grease in the extract is part of a kitchen’s fire risk.

If you run a café or takeaway near Dormans station, early starts and late finishes leave little time to clean, so overnight extract cleaning suits. If you run catering at a healthcare site, such as a hospital like Queen Victoria Hospital about 1.9 miles south-east, the extract may need cleaning more often than a part-time kitchen.

Common problems we fix in Felcourt

Missing filters are more common than you’d think. A missing filter leaves an open route into the system where it settles out of sight.

It’s time to book a visit if you see:

  • Filter washing that keeps being missed
  • Grease filters clogged with grease
  • Hand-washed filters that still look greasy
  • Gaps where filters have been removed

If your kitchen is in a listed or historic building, like the houses around Felcourt (Saint Hill Manor is about 3.7 miles south), fitting access panels needs care.
