Extract fan repair in Passfield, done properly
Wherever your kitchen is in Passfield, fan work means the extract has to be isolated, so we plan it around your service. We can work in the evening, overnight or at the weekend and there’s a 24/7 emergency line if the fan fails while you are cooking. The work covers kitchen extract fans, fan motors and bearings, and common reasons people get in touch are an overheating extract motor and a failed fan that needs a replacement.
In a village or hamlet like Passfield, the kitchens with extract fans are few, wherever there are any. When one fails, the cooking stops, and emergency callout is available 24/7, villages included.
The sign-off is always in writing: a dated report with photos of the work, and for TR19® Grease cleans, a certificate issued through the BESCA VHE portal. Any parts we couldn’t reach are recorded on it too.

When it’s something else
We will always give you a straight diagnosis, so here’s what this work cannot put right:
- Faults on the gas side of an interlock system, which need a Gas Safe registered engineer
- Problems with the electrical supply to the fan (an electrician’s job)
- An extract system that was undersized from the start
If in doubt, phone us on 0345 646 2711, or send details by email and we’ll say what we think before booking.
Where we work
- Belts and pulleys
- Kitchen extract fans
- Roof and wall fans
- Fan housings
- Fan motors
- Bearings
The process
Protection comes first: sheeting goes over floors and surfaces close to the work. After that, the system is made safe and the work begins. It takes a few hours on site, depending on the fault and the access to the fan, and the area is cleaned down before we leave. Visits to a village like Passfield are booked in advance, at a time that suits whoever runs the site.
- We agree a time to attend, out of hours if needed.
- The extract is switched off and the fan opened up.
- Bearings, drive, impeller, motor and mounts are inspected.
- We explain the options and quote a fixed price.
- We complete the work and check the fan runs smoothly.
Getting ready for the visit
- Allow time for equipment near the work to be turned off and cool down
- Mention any locked doors, roof access or ceiling voids
- Tell us about site rules, permits or sign-in
Getting a quote
For a fixed quote, call 0345 646 2711 or send us an email and tell us the type of site, your opening hours and roughly what the system looks like. Photos and the last report, if you have one, make the quote quicker. We usually come back within one working day.

Passfield: your questions answered
Do you cover smaller places like Passfield?
Yes, we work in villages as well as towns, and Passfield is covered. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.
Who carries out food hygiene inspections in Passfield?
In Passfield, it’s East Hampshire council that carries out food hygiene inspections. Keeping the fan serviced is easier than explaining a broken one on inspection day.
Does the report say when we need you again?
Yes. We put a recommended next date on the report. BESA’s minimum intervals for kitchen extracts range from 3-monthly for heavy use to 12-monthly for light use, while fire dampers are tested at least annually.
How much notice should we give?
The more notice, the better, especially for out-of-hours work. We typically quote within one working day, and there’s a 24/7 line for emergencies.
Do you offer maintenance contracts?
Yes, of course. Send details of the systems and how they’re used, and we’ll suggest a schedule and quote for it.
What is TR19?
BESA’s ventilation hygiene specification, with two parts that matter most here: TR19® Grease for kitchen extracts and TR19® Air for supply and extract systems. It isn’t law, but it’s the benchmark.
How long will the fan be out of action?
It depends on the fault, but as a guide it takes part of a day for most faults, with a return visit if parts have to be ordered. You’ll know more once we have found the fault.
What happens if you cannot reach some of it?
The report shows them clearly. Often the fix is extra access, such as new panels in ductwork, which we can install.

Extract fan repair around Passfield
In Passfield, food businesses are inspected by environmental health officers from East Hampshire council. Food hygiene rules expect food premises to have suitable and sufficient ventilation. That makes a fan repair urgent rather than something to put off. Passfield is about 42 miles from central London, well within the area we cover across London and the South East. The visit is fixed around your opening hours, not ours.
For school kitchens, at schools like Mill Chase Academy for example, a planned fan repair in the holidays avoids losing lunches in term time. Around Passfield, a failed fan can be reported day or night on our 24/7 line.

Passfield gets the same approach as every site we work on: diagnosis first, a fixed price, out-of-hours working where necessary and a written report with pictures. What your team can do, and what needs us
When your team notices a problem between visits, like drips, unusual noise, smells or damaged filters, it’s best reported rather than tackled in-house. We can diagnose it and quote.
For ventilation and air handling systems, in-house care is mostly about checks: clear grilles, a log of filter changes and reporting anything odd. The inside of ducts and units needs a specialist.
Multi-site and managed buildings
Records are where multi-site compliance often slips. Every visit ends with a dated report and pictures, so you can show an insurer or inspector what was done at each site.
We work for landlords, managing agents and facilities managers as well as the people running the site. Shared systems, like a riser serving several units, need a clear agreement on who books the work, and we’re happy to quote for all of it.
Why it’s worth doing now in Passfield
In kitchens with an interlocked gas supply, no extract can mean no cooking. Without extraction, the heat and fumes build up fast and fixing the fan early avoids a forced shutdown. It’s worth booking a check, because nobody sees inside a duct day to day.
We don’t list prices on the website, because each job is priced on what it involves. Call for a fixed quote, and we’ll talk you through it.
What you get with us

Keeping the system healthy
How long the results last depends on use and care. We suggest:
- Don’t wait for a noisy fan to stop
- Keep the fan on a planned cleaning cycle
- Write down when the fan misbehaves
- Never run the extract with filters missing
If the fan had grease on it, the rest of the system almost certainly does too. A full TR19® clean deals with the canopy, ductwork and fan together and you get a TR19 certificate and photo report afterwards.
A 3, 6 or 12-monthly cleaning plan brings us back at set intervals, which means the fan is seen regularly and problems are spotted sooner.
Different parts, different methods
Fan controls
Controls are checked as well as the fan itself, because a fan that will not start isn’t always a failed motor.
Direct-drive fans
An impeller coated in grease vibrates straight into the motor bearings. Cleaning it can cure the noise, if the bearings haven’t been damaged.
