Ductwork cleaning in Grove, Kent
For cleaning of kitchen extract ductwork, horizontal runs and vertical risers through access panels in Grove, one call is all it takes: survey, fixed quote, work and sign-off. CHAS and SafeContractor accredited, ISO 9001 and fully insured.
- Ductwork that has never been cleaned
- A grease test showing the duct is overdue
- A duct clean needed for an insurer
Different parts, different methods
Horizontal duct runs
Long horizontal runs need access panels at regular intervals. Any stretch out of reach is noted and can fit extra panels.
Access panels
Every section of duct is cleaned through an access panel. Where there are none, those sections cannot be cleaned, and TR19 expects them to be recorded.
About our ductwork cleaning in Grove
Many ducts were installed with too few access doors. Where a section cannot be reached, TR19 expects it to be recorded on the report, and new panels can be fitted to reach it in future. It’s better to know than to assume. If you are dealing with readings above 200 microns from a grease thickness test and gaps where access panels were never fitted, we can help.
For a kitchen in or near Grove, the visit is planned around opening hours and the journey, and the clean itself is the same full TR19® job as in any town: canopy, filters, duct, fan and discharge, with a certificate and photo report at the end.
The sign-off is always in writing: a written report, dated and illustrated with pictures, plus a certificate through the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal when the work is a TR19® Grease clean. Any parts we couldn’t reach are recorded on it too.

Managing agents and facilities teams in Grove
For anyone managing more than one site, we can plan visits across the whole estate and price them together. Each site gets its own report and pictures, so records stay tidy.
Managing agents often deal with us directly. Send the address, what’s needed and how access works, and we’ll send a fixed quote.
What your team can do, and what needs us
Some jobs should never be done in-house: opening up ductwork, cleaning fans, drop testing fire dampers and measuring grease call for the right kit, training and safe access. Leave those to us.
In-house cleaning and specialist cleaning do different jobs. Wiping filters daily and washing them weekly keeps the visible parts in order, but grease that has passed the filters is out of reach. That part needs specialist access and equipment.

What else we do in Grove
Leave it or put it right?
A dirty duct is something insurers ask about. Many require cleaning to TR19, and they can refuse or reduce a claim without proof. A certificate that covers the ductwork is what they want to see. With notice, the visit to Grove can be fitted around your bookings and events.
Working hours, access and the scale of the site can all change the price. We take each of them into account, and the price is fixed before we start.
What you get with us
- A single point of contact for sites across the South East and London
- Evenings, overnight and weekends, plus 24/7 emergency callout
- BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease
- Every job surveyed first
Common questions in Grove
Which fire authority looks after Grove?
Fire safety enforcement in Grove is handled by Kent Fire and Rescue Service. A recent cleaning certificate and a note of the next clean date show that grease in the extract is being managed.
Do you work at weekends in Grove?
Yes, evening, overnight and weekend work is normal for us. The work in Grove can fit around your hours. Just ring 0345 646 2711 or use the quote form with your opening times and we will plan around them.
What about areas you cannot get to?
They’re marked on the report. Often the fix is extra access, such as new panels in ductwork, and we can fit those.
Do you cover Grove?
Yes. We cover Grove and the rest of Kent, within our South East and London area. For a fixed quote, call 0345 646 2711, or send details by email.
How much notice should we give?
Book as early as you can for planned work, especially if the next clean or test is due soon. Emergencies are different, because our line is open 24/7.
Can we book visits on a schedule?
Yes. Scheduled maintenance plans are part of what we do, set at the interval the system needs. The report from each visit recommends the next date.
What is TR19?
BESA’s ventilation hygiene specification, with two parts that matter most here: TR19® Grease for kitchen extracts and TR19® Air for supply and extract systems. It isn’t legislation, but it’s the standard people check against.
Can one contract cover all our sites?
Yes. Our area covers London and the South East, so sites at different addresses can be planned together on one programme. Each site gets its own report and photos.
What affects the quote in Grove
The price is fixed before any work begins. It’s based on:
- Travel, parking and unloading
- Working hours and out-of-hours timing
- The condition we find in the survey
- Any permits to work or inductions
No two sites are the same, so each one gets its own fixed quote. The size of the job, how we reach it, its condition and the working hours all make a difference.
Asking for a quote
When you call or email, it’s useful to have:
- Any previous report or certificate
- Photos showing the whole system and its surroundings
- Any access panels or hatches you can see
- The roof, plant room or outside wall the system runs to
Quoting starts with a diagnosis, either from pictures and details you send or from a site visit. Then we send a fixed price so you know the cost before work begins.
Ductwork cleaning around Grove
The FSA’s food hygiene register includes about 3 bars, pubs and nightclubs in Grove and the streets around it, up to about 1.5 miles out. Wherever they cook, the canopy, duct and fan collect grease just as a restaurant’s do. It’s Canterbury City council that sends environmental health officers to food businesses in Grove. The cleanliness of the kitchen and its equipment, extraction included, is part of what they check. A dated certificate in the maintenance file answers the question before it’s asked. Grove is covered by Kent Fire and Rescue Service. Fire and rescue authorities enforce the Fire Safety Order in most non-domestic premises, and in a kitchen that fire risk includes the grease in the extract.
Volunteers running a hall kitchen near Church of St Mildred, or anywhere in Grove, may not know when the extract was last cleaned, and a grease test settles it. Goodnestone Park, about 4.7 miles south, is one of the historic houses near Grove; if you run event catering at a venue like that, cleans can be booked between functions. If you run catering at a healthcare site, such as a hospital like St Martins Hospital about 4.9 miles south-west, the extract may need cleaning more often than a part-time kitchen.

Around Grove

When it’s something else
We won’t sell you work that does not address the problem, so these are the things it won’t cover:
- Undersized or badly laid-out ducts
- Leaking duct joints that need repair
- Sections that can’t be reached safely without new access (those are recorded, and panels can be fitted)
If in doubt, call us on 0345 646 2711, or email photos and we will say what we think.
Where we work
- Vertical risers
- Attenuators
- Access panels
- Horizontal duct runs
- Bends and junctions
- Multi-storey ducts
What happens on the day
We are used to working while the site is closed. A lot of visits happen overnight or at weekends, so the site can open as normal afterwards. The visit itself takes a shift or more, depending on the length of the runs and the number of access points. Photos of the system and how to reach it help us plan a visit to Grove.
- We map the duct route and check where the access panels are.
- Grease readings are taken at set points along the duct.
- We open the panels and scrape out the heaviest grease.
- Next the ducts and risers are degreased, using whatever suits the deposit.
- Post-clean readings and photos go into the report, with any unreachable section listed.
Before we arrive
- Tell us about site rules, permits or sign-in
- Clear the space around the work
- Make sure equipment near the work can be switched off and left to cool
Getting a quote
The quickest way to a quote is to send photos: the system from a couple of angles, plus any access panels or hatches. Tell us what kind of site it is and when it’s open, and we can price many jobs without a visit.
