Questions from Grove

Do you work in villages like Grove?

Yes. Grove is within the area we cover across London and the South East. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.

Can you work in Grove outside opening hours?

Yes, evening, overnight and weekend work is normal for us. It means the site in Grove keeps running as normal. Your opening times are the first thing we ask for.

Are you fully insured?

Yes, fully. CHAS and SafeContractor accreditation sit alongside it for clients who vet their contractors.

What does TR19 mean?

It’s the industry benchmark for cleaning ventilation and kitchen extract systems, written by BESA. It covers how systems are inspected, cleaned and checked and expects a risk-based approach.

What do you do to protect the area?

Floors and surfaces near the work are sheeted before we start, and anything we remove is contained. At the end, the area is cleaned down.

Can we book visits on a schedule?

Yes. We run scheduled maintenance contracts, set at the interval the system needs. Each report recommends when the next visit should be.

Do you have a 24/7 line?

Yes, any time. For anything urgent, such as a fan failure or damage after a fire, ring the 24/7 line and we’ll talk you through the next steps.

Do you work with multi-site operators?

Yes. We work across South East England and London, so we can schedule a run of sites as one programme. Each site gets its own report and pictures.

Grease trap cleaning in Grove, done properly

Smells from the sink, gurgling drains or slow drainage all point to the grease trap. In Grove, as everywhere we work, our team empties and cleans the trap, then check the water flows properly. If you are dealing with washing-up water that won’t drain away and scheduled grease trap emptying, we can put it right, from school and care home kitchens, restaurants and takeaways and kitchen waste pipes onwards.

In rural areas, a kitchen may drain to a private system rather than a public sewer, so keeping fat out with a working grease trap matters even more.

We’ve been trading since 2009, as a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease. CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001 are in place too, and we are fully insured.

Restaurant and takeaway kitchens

Busy kitchens can’t afford a blocked drain. Keeping the trap clean reduces the risk.

Under-sink grease traps

Under-sink traps are cleaned in a short visit, and check the lid and seals.

How it works

On the day, we arrive at the time agreed with you, which is often after service, overnight or at a weekend. Equipment that has to be off is switched off and allowed to cool first, and the area around the work is covered and protected. The work itself takes an hour or so for an under-sink trap, longer for a larger unit. Rural roads and tight entrances are worth telling us about before a visit to Grove.

  1. We start by finding the trap and checking its inlet and outlet.
  2. The sinks feeding the trap are kept out of use while we work.
  3. Built-up fat, oil and grease is removed from the trap.
  4. Every part of the trap is scraped and cleaned, including the baffles.
  5. We put it back together, run water through and remove the waste.

How to prepare

  • Make sure equipment near the work can be switched off and left to cool
  • Let us know when the site is closed or quiet
  • Arrange a key holder or contact on site

When something else is needed

Some problems need a different service or another trade:

  • A grease trap that is too small for the kitchen
  • Plumbing leaks around the sink
  • Blockages further down the drainage network

Not sure which it is? You can call us on 0345 646 2711, or send details by email and we will tell you honestly before you book.

Where we work

  • School and care home kitchens
  • Pot wash sinks
  • Under-sink grease traps
  • Kitchen waste pipes
  • Restaurants and takeaways
  • Inline grease traps

Staff cleaning versus specialist work

Keep a record of what your team does. A simple log of filter washes, wipe-downs and checks helps show that the system is managed between specialist visits, next to our reports.

Day-to-day cleaning is something your team can do: wiping down canopy surfaces, cleaning filters and keeping a simple log. What they cannot safely do is clean inside the ductwork, the fan or the risers, which is where we come in.

Where they run a kitchen, it needs the same deep cleaning and grease trap care as any restaurant. In Grove, food businesses are inspected by environmental health officers from Canterbury City council. Walls, floors, ceilings and equipment are all part of what they look at. A record of each deep clean helps show the kitchen is kept in order. Grove, about 58 miles from central London, is within our usual area. We work evenings, overnight and at weekends, so the visit fits around the site.

When to call us in Grove

The more a kitchen cooks and washes up, the quicker the trap fills. A trap that suited a quieter kitchen can fill very quickly when trade picks up.

Keep an eye out for any of the following:

  • A grease trap that hasn’t been emptied in a long time
  • A bad smell from the sinks or drains
  • Grease setting in the kitchen pipework
  • Washing-up water that won’t drain away

Hall and church kitchens, near Church of St Mildred or anywhere around Grove, are used by many hands, and periodic deep cleans and grease trap visits keep them in order.

What your quote should include

  • What’s included in the scope, part by part
  • Whether the quote is based on a survey or pictures
  • Whether inaccessible sections are listed on the report
  • What records you’ll receive afterwards

Questions to ask before booking

Aftercare tips

Here’s the after-treatment advice, short and simple:

  • Use strainers in the sink plugholes
  • Collect waste cooking oil separately
  • Avoid pouring boiling water down to shift grease
  • Keep the grease trap on a regular cleaning schedule

Once the trap is cleaned and refitted, the sinks can be used straight away. Water is run through to check everything flows before we leave.

Grease that gets past the trap sets in the drains. Once it’s there, it needs a drainage contractor to clear so prevention is the easier route.

Leave it or put it right?

In Grove, as anywhere, grease trap cleaning is a short, routine visit. Waiting for a blockage turns it into an urgent problem, often at a busy time. Somewhere as small as Grove, losing a kitchen or building to a fault is felt by everyone who uses it.

What you pay depends on how big the system is, the condition it’s in and access to every part of it. You get a fixed price before any work starts, so you know where you stand.
