AHU Cleaning in Cyprus
AHU cleaning in Cyprus, surveyed first and signed off with a written report and pictures. Ask us for a fixed quote.
- Intake sections clogged with outdoor debris
- Fan sections that haven’t been cleaned in years
- Odours coming through the supply air
How the visit works
We turn up at the time agreed with you, which is often after service, overnight or at a weekend. Equipment that has to be off is switched off and allowed to cool first, and the area around the work is covered and protected. On site, it takes a single shift for a typical unit, longer for large or heavily soiled ones. Night and weekend working is normal for us in London, and a site in Cyprus is no exception.
- The survey covers the unit, its access and how it can be shut down.
- We sheet the area and the unit is isolated.
- Each section is cleaned of dust, debris and slime.
- Coils and trays are cleaned and the condensate drain cleared.
- The unit is closed up and handed back, with a report to follow.
Before we arrive
- Name a contact who can let us in at the agreed time
- Allow time for equipment near the work to be turned off and cool down
- Let us know about parking and loading

Advice
AHU cleaning for kitchens and businesses in Cyprus
Our AHU cleaning covers sites in Cyprus and the rest of Greater London, in buildings such as offices, schools, healthcare sites and shops. The work is timed around when the system can be switched off, including evenings, nights and weekends. If you are dealing with leaves and litter drawn into the unit and filters that are clogged or overdue, we can put it right.
Across London, offices, hotels, schools and healthcare buildings rely on mechanical ventilation, much of it supplied through air handling units on roofs or in basements. For a building in Cyprus, dust settles in the units and ducts year after year.
We have been trading since 2009, as a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease. CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001 are in place too, and we are fully insured.

Common questions in Cyprus
Can parking be tricky for a job in Cyprus?
London parking can be tight, so details of loading bays and permits help. Night visits tend to make loading easier on London streets.
Can a school’s ventilation in Cyprus be done out of term time?
Yes, out-of-term visits are normal for schools. There are about 45 schools, colleges and universities on the FSA’s food hygiene register within about 1.5 miles of Cyprus. Just call 0345 646 2711 or send us an email with your term dates and we’ll plan around them.
Do you work evenings or weekends?
Yes. The clean is planned around when the unit can be switched off. Healthcare and care settings are planned with staff.
Can you come out in an emergency?
Yes. If something urgent happens, like a fan failing or damage after a fire, call our 24/7 line and we’ll talk you through the next steps.
When should our AHU next be cleaned?
Under TR19® Air, cleaning is led by inspection and risk rather than a set calendar. We recommend a next date in each report.
What should I send you?
Just the basics: the address, the site type, your opening hours and how we reach the system. Photos and any previous paperwork make it quicker. Then phone us on 0345 646 2711 or drop us a line.
How long does it take to clean an air handling unit?
Cleaning takes a single shift for a typical unit, longer for large or heavily soiled ones. Large plant can be split over several shifts, so phone us on 0345 646 2711 or use the quote form to talk it through.
Do you have insurance?
Yes. We are fully insured, and we can share the details when you need them.
Staff cleaning versus specialist work
Staff cleaning and specialist work aren’t the same thing. Wiping filters daily and washing them weekly keeps the visible parts in order, but grease that has passed the filters is out of reach. That part needs specialist access and equipment.
Keep a record of what your team does. A simple log of filter washes, wipe-downs and checks helps show that the system is managed between specialist visits, alongside our reports.
When to call us in Cyprus
Whatever surrounds a building in Cyprus, the air drawn into its AHU carries dust, pollen and debris. Most of it lands at the intake and the first stage of filters, and the finer material travels on.
What we’re most often called out for:
- Blocked condensate drains and slimy trays
- Dirty coils holding back the airflow
- Stale or musty smells from the ventilation
- Leaves and litter drawn into the unit
If you run a surgery, dental practice or care home near Cyprus, clean ventilation matters as much to you as to a hospital like Albert Dock Seamen's Hospital (about 1.1 miles west).
Before you book anyone
- Exactly which parts of the system are covered
- What paperwork you get at the end
- Proof of insurance
- How areas they cannot reach will be recorded
Different parts, different methods
Filters
Every AHU relies on its filters to catch dust before it reaches the coils. We check them, and clean or change them as agreed in the quote, and clean the filter housing.
Heating and cooling coils
A dirty coil holds back the air and makes heating and cooling less effective. Cleaning restores the open path through the fins.
Between visits
Think of this as the after-treatment advice, in brief:
- Stick to the filter change plan
- Do not store bins or materials near the intake
- Check the drain tray is emptying during routine visits
- Keep the certificate and photo report with the plant records
Once the clean is done, we send a TR19® certificate and a report with before and after pictures. They belong in the plant or maintenance log.
Don’t let leaves, litter or stored materials build up near the fresh air intake. What’s near the intake ends up in the unit.

Honest limits
Some problems need a different service or another trade:
- A system that’s undersized for the building
- Ductwork downstream of the unit, which is a separate clean
- Building management system faults
Not sure which it is? You can ring 0345 646 2711 or send us an email and we will tell you honestly.
Where we work
- Dampers and louvres
- Supply and extract fans
- Internal panels
- Heating and cooling coils
- Drain trays
- Filter sections
Landlords, agents and facilities managers
If you look after several sites, we can schedule visits across all of them on one quote. Every building has its own written report, so each one has its own record.
Records are where multi-site compliance often slips. Each visit produces a dated report with pictures, ready to show insurers, fire officers or EHOs.
What AHU cleaning looks like in Cyprus
Food Standards Agency records list about 45 schools, colleges and universities, about 27 hospitals, care homes and childcare premises and about 16 hotels, B&Bs and guest houses registered as food businesses within roughly a mile and a half of the centre of Cyprus. Classrooms, bedrooms and care spaces are often served by ducted air, and that ductwork collects dust over time. For Cyprus, the closest hospital is Albert Dock Seamen's Hospital, roughly 1.1 miles west. Clean air matters most where people are unwell, and that’s as true in a care home as in a hospital. Ventilation cleaning in London buildings is normally planned for evenings or weekends.
Wherever a school like Winsor Primary School has ducted ventilation, a half-term visit keeps the work out of lesson time.
