TR19 inspection for sites in Bushey Mead

TR19 inspection in Bushey Mead, done properly

Post-clean verification is a check carried out once the cleaning is done, with new readings and pictures of the cleaned areas. It shows whether the system was left in the condition the paperwork describes. The work covers access surveys, insurer audits and deposit thickness tests, and the jobs we see most are kitchen extract systems with no recent grease readings and cleaning intervals that may not suit the kitchen.

London kitchens tend to trade late and open early, so work in Bushey Mead is normally booked for the night or the early hours. Before the clean, we agree loading, parking and roof access with whoever manages the building.

Nothing is signed off by word of mouth: a written report, dated and illustrated with pictures, and for TR19® Grease cleans, a certificate issued through the BESCA VHE portal. Any parts we couldn’t reach are recorded on it too.

How we price TR19 inspection

We quote each job individually. This is what makes a difference:

  • How easy every part is to reach
  • Whether several sites go on one quote
  • The size of the system
  • Parking and loading at the site

We don’t list prices on the website, because each job is priced on what it involves. For a fixed quote, give us a ring on 0345 646 2711, or email photos, and we will talk you through it.

What we need to know

When you call or email, these details help:

  • The paperwork from the last visit, if you have it
  • Wide pictures of the system and the area around it
  • The site address and the type of premises
  • Detail shots of panels, filters and grilles

Getting a quote doesn’t take long. Send a few details and photos, and we usually reply with a fixed quote within one working day. If we need to see the system first, we book a survey around your hours.

FAQs for Bushey Mead

Who carries out food hygiene inspections in Bushey Mead?

In Bushey Mead, it’s Merton council that carries out food hygiene inspections. Have your latest TR19® certificate and photo report to hand, as an officer may ask how the extract is maintained.

Can the work in Bushey Mead be done at night or at weekends?

Yes, we can come after you close and finish before you open. Your customers, staff or residents in Bushey Mead needn’t be disturbed. Just call 0345 646 2711 or drop us a line with your opening times and we will plan around them.

Can you quote from photos?

Yes, if we can see what we need. Otherwise, we book a survey at a time that suits the site, then a fixed quote.

When should we have our next grease test?

Enough to be sure grease stays within the TR19® Grease figures between cleans. The readings themselves tell you if the interval needs to change.

How much notice do you need?

The more notice, the better, particularly for night and weekend visits. Quotes normally come back within one working day, and there’s a 24/7 line for emergencies.

Can one contract cover all our sites?

Yes. Tell us the addresses and what each needs and we’ll quote them together.

Do you offer maintenance contracts?

Yes. Send details of the systems and how they’re used, and we will suggest a schedule and quote for it.

What does TR19 inspection cost?

The cost depends on the size of the system, its condition, access and timing. Ask us for a fixed quote, usually ready within one working day.

What your team can do, and what needs us

When your team notices a problem between visits, like drips, unusual noise, smells or damaged filters, they should report it rather than try to fix it. We’ll take a look and send you a fixed quote.

Day-to-day cleaning is something your team can do: wiping down canopy surfaces, cleaning filters and keeping a simple log. Inside the ducts, risers and fan is specialist work, which is where we come in.

Why deal with it now?

Without readings, you’re guessing when to clean. Any reading of 500 microns or more needs immediate spot cleaning under TR19® Grease, and you can only act on that if you’ve measured it. London sites work long hours, and the longer a job is left, the bigger it gets.

Every site is different, so each one gets its own fixed quote. Size, access, the condition of the system and when we can work all play a part.

The process

We turn up at the time agreed with you, often in the evening, overnight or at the weekend so the site keeps working. Anything that needs to be off for the work is switched off and left to cool before any work starts, and floors and nearby surfaces are sheeted. On site, it takes around an hour or two per canopy and duct system. Before any visit in Bushey Mead, we agree where the van can stop and how equipment reaches the system.

  1. First we look at the system’s cleaning history, if there is one.
  2. We follow the extract from canopy to discharge.
  3. Access panels are located and any missing ones noted.
  4. We measure the grease and photograph each point.
  5. You get a report and a fixed quote for the clean.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Clear loose items from the work area
  • Agree a time when the area can be out of use
  • Let us know about permits to work or site inductions

Ask for a quote

There’s no standard price list, because no two systems are the same. We look at your system first, from pictures or on a visit, then send a fixed quote. To start, give us a ring on 0345 646 2711 or drop us a line.

Part by part

Schools, hospitals and care homes

In healthcare and care settings, kitchens may run from early until late. Readings show if cleaning is frequent enough.

Canopy and plenum

The plenum behind the filters can carry a lot of grease. We take readings there and photograph it on every inspection.

Looking after it afterwards

Once we have finished, these simple steps help:

  • Have the latest report ready for insurance renewals
  • Flag oily drips near the extract
  • Book the next test on the date in the report
  • Keep canopy edges and gutters wiped down

The report recommends when the system should next be cleaned and tested, from the measured grease and the kitchen’s hours.

Fit access panels where the survey finds sections cannot be reached, so grease is not left building in hidden parts.

Honest limits

We will not sell you work that does not address the problem, so here are the limits:

  • Fire safety duties beyond the extract system
  • Removing the grease, which is a separate clean
  • Parts of the duct nobody can reach yet

If you’re not sure, just call 0345 646 2711 or send us an email and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.
