About our kitchen deep cleaning in Chinatown
Old, baked-on grease doesn’t come off with a wipe. We use cleaning methods that suit the deposit and the surface and the time to do it properly. Typical jobs include cooking equipment caked in carbon and build-up behind fryers and ovens, on walls and ceilings, behind and under equipment and stainless steel surfaces.
Fat, oil and grease poured down drains helps form fatbergs, and London’s sewers have made the news for them more than once. A grease trap that’s emptied and cleaned regularly keeps fat out of the drains.
We’re CHAS and SafeContractor accredited, we hold ISO 9001 and we are fully insured. We’re also a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease, and we’ve been trading since 2009.

Common questions in Chinatown
Which environmental health team covers Chinatown?
In Chinatown, it’s Westminster council that carries out food hygiene inspections. Inspection results feed into the food hygiene rating published by the Food Standards Agency.
Can parking be tricky for a job in Chinatown?
Parking and loading in London need planning, so tell us about bays, permits and building rules when you book. Night visits tend to make loading easier on London streets.
How do you protect the area?
With sheeting and covers, before anything else happens. The work is kept contained and leave the area clean.
What’s TR19?
A BESA specification in two main parts: TR19® Grease for kitchen extracts and TR19® Air for supply and extract systems. It isn’t legislation, but it’s the standard people check against.
What if parts of the system cannot be reached?
The report shows them clearly. In ductwork, new access panels are often the answer, which we can install.
Are you fully insured?
Yes. Full insurance covers our work and have been trading since 2009.
Which areas does a deep clean cover?
It takes in the places daily cleaning does not reach, from high walls and ceilings to the floor under the range. The cooking equipment is cleaned too.
Can you clean outside our opening hours?
We work evenings, overnight and at weekends, so service isn’t lost. School kitchens are often done in the holidays.
Keeping the system healthy
Simple habits between visits make a real difference. Our advice:
- Deal with spills right away
- Book deep cleans on a regular cycle
- Report damaged surfaces early so they can be repaired
- Clean behind movable equipment regularly
A deep-cleaned kitchen is easier to keep clean. Keep up the routine, especially behind and under equipment where you can, and the next deep clean is lighter work.
Splashes left on hot surfaces bake on. Keeping on top of them with deep cleans saves effort and helps the equipment last.

Why it’s worth doing now in Chinatown
Built-up grease around the cooking line is something that can burn. Leaving it adds to the fire risk in the kitchen on top of what’s in the ductwork. A deep clean takes it away. Every month a London system goes without attention adds to what has to be done later.
Kitchens, offices, schools and hospitals are all priced the same way: the size of the job, access, condition and working hours. Ask for a fixed quote and we will explain each part.

How the job changes from site to site
Floors
Greasy floors are a slip hazard. Floors are done at the end, including under and behind equipment where it can be moved safely.
Canopy exteriors
The inside of the canopy, the plenum and the ducts need a TR19 clean. We can do both on the same visit.
Multi-site and managed buildings
Whether it’s one building or many, the standard is the same: the system surveyed, the price fixed, the visit fitted around trading and everything written up afterwards.
We work for landlords, managing agents and facilities managers as well as the people running the site. Shared systems, like a riser serving several units, need a clear agreement on who books the work, and we are happy to quote for all of it.
When it’s something else
We’d rather tell you now than book work that will not help, so these are the things it won’t cover:
- Grease in the ducts above the kitchen
- Worn or broken surfaces that cleaning can’t restore
- A blocked or overflowing grease trap
Not sure which it is? You can ring 0345 646 2711, or send details by email and we will tell you honestly before you book.

How the visit works
Every visit runs to the same pattern: protect the area, isolate whatever needs isolating, do the work, clear away and leave you the report. On site, the work takes several hours, depending on the kitchen and the equipment in it. Before any visit in Chinatown, we agree where the van can stop and how equipment reaches the system.
- First, we agree what’s being cleaned and when.
- Equipment is switched off and allowed to cool.
- High-level surfaces, walls and the canopy exterior are cleaned.
- Equipment is cleaned, along with the areas behind and under it.
- The floors are cleaned and the kitchen is checked with you.
Preparing for the visit
- Agree a time when the area can be out of use
- Have your last certificate or report to hand
- Move anything stored near the system

Advice
Chinatown kitchens: local notes
The FSA’s data shows about 370 pubs, bars and clubs and about 246 hotels and B&Bs registered in and around Chinatown, up to about a mile and a half out. Wherever they cook, the kitchen and its drains need the same attention as a restaurant’s. Compact London kitchens collect grease in tight corners, which an overnight deep clean can reach. Kitchens in Chinatown get their food hygiene inspections from Westminster council. Grease behind equipment or on a ceiling is the kind of thing an inspection can note. A cleaning log that includes deep cleans and grease trap visits shows the work is planned.
If you serve passing trade near Tottenham Court Road station, a grease trap on a regular schedule keeps the drains running through busy weeks. Hall and church kitchens, near St Anne's Church or anywhere around Chinatown, are used by many hands, and periodic deep cleans and grease trap visits keep them in order. School kitchens, at schools like Soho Parish CofE Primary School for example, normally have their deep cleans and grease trap work done while the canteen is closed.

What affects the cost of kitchen deep cleaning
Your quote is based on your site. We take into account:
- Parking and loading at the site
- When the work can happen, such as evenings, overnight or weekends
- What state the system is in
- Whether it’s a one-off visit or part of a schedule
One small site or a whole estate, the quote is built the same way: the work involved, the access and the timing. You’ll have a fixed price before work begins.
Helping us quote
We can often survey from photos. Try to include:
- The times we could work without disrupting the site
- Close-ups of filters, grilles, hatches or access panels
- The roof, plant room or outside wall the system runs to
- Wide pictures of the system and the area around it
To get a fixed quote, give us a ring on 0345 646 2711 or email us with the site type, your trading hours and a short description of the system. A few photos and your last certificate or report help a lot. You’ll normally have a quote within one working day.
