New Copse questions

Do you work overnight in New Copse?

Yes, we can come after you close and finish before you open. That way a site in New Copse doesn’t have to lose a day’s trading. Just call 0345 646 2711 or send us an email with your opening times and we’ll plan around them.

Who inspects food businesses in New Copse?

Food hygiene inspections in New Copse are carried out by East Hampshire council. It helps to keep the extract cleaning records with your food safety paperwork, so they’re ready if asked for.

Do you work with multi-site operators?

Yes. We work across South East England and London, so we can schedule a run of sites on one programme. Every site has its own report.

Do you provide a report after cleaning the fan?

A photo report shows the fan before and after. Full system cleans come with a TR19 certificate as well.

Who is the responsible person?

In the words of the Fire Safety Order 2005, it’s the responsible person. It’s normally the employer, or whoever controls the building, and in shared buildings more than one person can have duties. If you are not sure, check your lease and fire risk assessment.

How long does extract fan cleaning take?

One easily reached fan is quick, but hard-to-reach fans take more time. We plan it out of hours.

Do you cover New Copse?

Yes. We cover New Copse and across Hampshire, as part of our work across South East England and London. To book, call us on 0345 646 2711 or email us.

How much does extract fan cleaning cost in New Copse?

Every site is different, so each gets its own fixed quote. To get one, phone us on 0345 646 2711, or send details by email with the site type, opening hours and a few photos.

Extract fan cleaning for kitchens and businesses in New Copse

We’ve been trading since 2009. We’re a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease, with CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001 and full insurance. The work covers centrifugal fans, discharge points and roof-mounted fans, and common reasons people get in touch are a fan coated in grease inside its housing and fat spreading onto the roof or wall by the fan.

Work in a small place like New Copse starts with a call to agree access and timings, and the clean itself is the same full TR19® job as in any town: canopy to discharge, then a TR19® certificate and a photo report.

Think of the report as the system’s health record: dated, with photos, and showing what was done. For TR19® Grease cleans, the certificate comes through the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal and sits alongside the report.

Leave it or put it right?

A greasy fan at the discharge can spread grease onto the roof or wall around it. It marks the area around the outlet and leaves more fuel outside, which is one more reason to keep it clean. Systems in rural buildings are often out of sight and out of mind.

Kitchens, offices, schools and hospitals are all priced the same way: how much there is, how we reach it, what state it’s in and when we can work. Call for a fixed quote and we will explain each part.

How it works

The first job on site is protection: sheeting goes over floors and surfaces close to the work. After that, the system is made safe and the work begins. It takes an hour or two for most single fans, and the area is cleaned down before we leave. Pictures of the system and its access let us plan the work in New Copse before we set off.

  1. We find the fan and check how it’s reached and how it’s isolated.
  2. The fan is isolated so it can’t start while we work.
  3. Grease is scraped from the impeller blades and the inside of the housing.
  4. We degrease the fan and housing, taking care around the motor.
  5. We reassemble, run the fan and photograph the result.

Before we arrive

  • Mention any parking or loading restrictions
  • Move anything stored near the system
  • Make sure someone can let us in and lock up afterwards

Multi-site and managed buildings

Keeping records across a portfolio is half the battle. Each visit ends with a dated report and photos, ready to show insurers, fire officers or EHOs.

We work for landlords, managing agents and facilities managers as well as the people running the site. Where a system serves more than one tenant, such as a shared riser, it helps to agree who arranges the work, and we can quote for the whole system.

How we price extract fan cleaning

There’s no set price list, because no two systems are the same. What we look at:

  • Whether it’s a one-off visit or part of a schedule
  • The number of sites or systems
  • Access, including roofs, risers and ceiling voids
  • Parking and loading at the site

The price reflects the work, not guesswork. That is why we survey first, from pictures or on site, and the price is agreed before work begins.

Helping us quote

What to send for a quote:

  • Close-ups of filters, grilles, hatches or access panels
  • The roof, plant room or outside wall the system runs to
  • The postcode and the type of business
  • Your last certificate, test record or report

There’s no standard price list, because every site is different. Instead, we look at your site first, from pictures or a survey, then send a fixed quote. To start, call us on 0345 646 2711, or email photos.

Honest limits

Not every problem is solved by extract fan cleaning, and we’d rather say so up front. It will not put right:

  • A motor that has burnt out
  • An undersized fan that can’t cope
  • Damaged fan blades

Not sure which it is? You can call us on 0345 646 2711 or send us an email and we will tell you honestly.

What the work covers

  • In-line fans
  • Fan housings
  • Centrifugal fans
  • Discharge points
  • Axial fans
  • Roof-mounted fans

Extract fan cleaning around New Copse

The fire and rescue service for New Copse is Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service. The Fire Safety Order puts the duty on whoever runs a kitchen to control its fire risk, and a greasy duct is fuel. Environmental health officers from East Hampshire council inspect food businesses in New Copse. Extraction counts as kitchen equipment, so its condition can come up on the day. Keeping each certificate and photo report on file helps show the extract is looked after.

A hall kitchen that only cooks for events, whether near Church of St Andrew or elsewhere in New Copse, still needs its extract cleaned, just less often. Kitchens that cook twelve hours or more a day, as some healthcare kitchens do, fall into BESA’s three-monthly minimum; Alton Community Hospital is the nearest hospital to New Copse, about 3.2 miles east. School kitchens, at schools like Medstead Church of England Primary School for example, are normally cleaned in the holidays so no lunches are lost.

New Copse is about 4 miles west of Alton, in Hampshire. Anywhere in GU34, we can take on extract fan cleaning. New Copse is one of 683 towns, villages and districts in Hampshire we cover for commercial clients. Our Southampton page covers sites nearby, about 21 miles away.

Work in GU34 follows the same survey, fixed quote and written report as everywhere else we cover. Close by, we work in South Town (1 mile south), Holt End (1 mile north), Hattingley (1 mile south-west), Wivelrod (1 mile east) and Bentworth (1 mile north-east). Within a short drive, we also cover Basingstoke (9 miles north), Winchester (12 miles south-west), Fleet (14 miles north-east), Aldershot (15 miles north-east), Alton (4 miles east) and Petersfield (11 miles south-east).

Looking after it afterwards

Here’s the after-treatment advice, short and simple:

  • Keep each photo report with the maintenance log
  • Look for grease stains near the discharge
  • Note any drop in extraction at the canopy
  • Keep the fan on whenever the range is lit

When we have finished, the fan is reassembled and run. If anything seems wrong, from vibration to wear, we note it, so you can plan any repair.

Run the fan throughout cooking. Grease settles faster when the air stops moving, so keeping it running helps keep it clean.

Staff cleaning versus specialist work

A few tasks are always specialist work: entering ducts, working on fans, testing dampers and taking grease readings need training, the right equipment and safe access. Leave those to us.

When your team notices a problem between visits, like drips, unusual noise, smells or damaged filters, it’s best reported rather than tackled in-house. We’ll take a look and send you a fixed quote.
