AHU cleaning in Brooklands

About our AHU cleaning in Brooklands

Our AHU cleaning covers sites in Brooklands and the rest of Surrey, in offices, schools, hospitals, care homes and retail. Units are cleaned when the site can spare them, often evenings, overnight or weekends. If you have stale or musty smells from the ventilation and dust built up on fan impellers, we can help, from internal panels, supply and extract fans and heating and cooling coils onwards.

In a smaller place like Brooklands, buildings with ducted ventilation are more likely to be a school, a surgery, a care home or a small business unit than an office block. Even a small system collects dust in its ducts and filters.

Our accreditations include CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001, and we’re fully insured. On top of that, we are a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease, and we have been trading since 2009.

For landlords and multi-site operators

Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, the responsible person must assess and reduce fire risk, and that can be the employer, the owner, a landlord, a facilities manager or a managing agent. Where responsibility is shared, records matter even more.

If you look after several sites, we can plan visits across the whole estate and price them together. Every building has its own written report, so each one has its own record.

What the work involves, part by part

Drain trays

Condensate from the coil drips into a tray beneath it. Standing water and slime are removed and the outlet is checked.

Fans and fan sections

The fan section is cleaned with the unit switched off and isolated with your site team.

When it’s something else

In fairness, some problems need a different fix:

  • Ductwork downstream of the unit, which is a separate clean
  • Problems with the unit’s controls or sensors
  • A system that’s undersized for the building

If you are not sure, just ring 0345 646 2711 or use the quote form and we will give you a straight answer.

Where we work

  • Filter sections
  • Internal panels
  • Supply and extract fans
  • Heating and cooling coils
  • Dampers and louvres
  • Drain trays

How it works

We are used to working while the site is closed. Evenings, nights and weekends are when much of our work happens, so the site can open as normal afterwards. The visit itself takes half a day to a full day per unit, with large plant planned over several shifts. Everything the job in Brooklands needs is worked out beforehand, from the survey.

  1. First we agree when the unit can be switched off, including evenings or weekends.
  2. We take before photos of each section of the unit.
  3. We work through the unit from the intake to the outlet.
  4. The fan and drain tray are cleaned and the drain checked.
  5. After pictures are taken and the certificate issued.

Preparing for the visit

  • Name a contact who can let us in at the agreed time
  • Dig out any earlier paperwork for the system
  • Mention any locked doors, roof access or ceiling voids

When to call us in Brooklands

No filter stops everything. The fine dust that passes the filters lands on the coils, the fan and the internal panels, building up layer by layer.

Clients typically contact us when they notice something like this:

  • Debris and leaves in the fresh air intake
  • Condensate trays that won’t empty
  • Air handling units with blocked filters
  • Dust-coated heating and cooling coils

If you run an office near Weybridge station, its supply ductwork can gather dust for years before anyone looks inside.

Questions to ask before booking

What affects the quote in Brooklands

A fixed price needs a few facts first. We check:

  • How easy every part is to reach
  • Working hours and out-of-hours timing
  • The condition of the system
  • How big the system is

One small site or a whole estate, the quote is built the same way: what needs doing, how we get to it and when. The price is fixed before we start.

What to send for a quote

What to send for a quote:

  • Wide photos of the system and the area around it
  • How we’d reach plant on a roof or in a plant room
  • The postcode and the type of business
  • Any symptoms, from odd noises to smells or leaks

Here’s what helps us quote: the address, the type of site and when it’s open, a few photos and the last certificate or report, if there is one. Then phone us on 0345 646 2711, or send details by email.

Staff cleaning versus specialist work

Away from the kitchen, the in-house job is mainly checking: keeping grilles clear, noting unusual noise or smells and logging filter changes. Cleaning inside ducts and units is specialist work.

Good housekeeping makes our visits easier, not unnecessary. Regular in-house cleaning slows the build-up, but hidden parts of the system still need specialist attention.
