  • Problems with how the system is controlled

Ventilation duct cleaning in Henfield, done properly

Every ventilation system has ducts bringing air in and ducts taking it out. Over time, both collect dust and debris, and some of it is blown back into the building. Our cleaning covers the ducts, grilles and diffusers, to TR19® Air. The work covers toilet extract systems, supply ductwork and grilles and diffusers, and the jobs we see most are ducts that need a clean before handover and musty smells from the ventilation.

Smaller buildings around Henfield often keep their ventilation units in a roof void or plant cupboard, out of sight and easy to overlook. Filters, coils and drain trays need attention whatever the size of the unit.

Insurers, fire officers and environmental health officers all look at records. That’s why every job is written up in a report with pictures, plus a TR19® certificate through the BESCA VHE portal where the work is a TR19® Grease clean.

What affects the cost of ventilation duct cleaning

Your quote is based on your site. We consider:

  • The scale of the work
  • Site rules, permits and inductions
  • Whether we need access equipment or extra panels
  • One-off work versus a regular cycle

What you pay depends on the size of the system, the condition it’s in and how easy it is to reach. We give you a fixed price before work begins, so there are no surprises.

Helping us quote

The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote. When you get in touch, it helps to send:

  • A few general shots of the system
  • The times we could work without disrupting the site
  • The postcode and the type of business
  • Problems your staff have spotted

To get a fixed quote, call us on 0345 646 2711 or use the quote form with the site type, your trading hours and a short description of the system. Photos and the last report, if you have one, make the quote quicker. You’ll typically have a quote within one working day.

Part by part

Offices and retail

Multi-let buildings may share ductwork between tenants. We plan access with the managing agent.

Grilles and diffusers

Dark streaks round a ceiling diffuser can be a sign of dirty supply air. The grilles are cleaned and the ducts behind inspected.

Leave it or put it right?

Smells, dust around grilles and stuffy rooms are signs the system needs attention. Dealing with them now stops them getting worse. Systems on quieter sites still build up dirt and wear, just more slowly.

Several systems or sites on one quote often makes better use of the time. Mention every system or site you need covered, and you will get one fixed quote.

How it works

There are three stages on the day: set-up, the treatment itself and the sign-off. Getting ready means protecting surfaces and switching off what needs to be off, while signing off means the written report and pictures. The middle part takes longest, which takes a day or less for a small system and a series of visits for a large one. A site near Henfield normally has room to park, so the questions are about access to the system and your hours.

  1. We agree timings that suit the building, including evenings and weekends.
  2. We open the ductwork through its access panels.
  3. We photograph the ducts, then clean each section in turn.
  4. Grilles and diffusers are cleaned and refitted.
  5. We take after photos and send the certificate and report.

How to prepare

  • Let us know about permits to work or site inductions
  • Let us know how we reach the system, including roofs, risers and plant rooms
  • Allow time for equipment near the work to be turned off and cool down

Ask for a quote

Photos are the quickest way to a quote: wide shots of the system, close-ups of anything that worries you and how we’d get to it. Tell us what kind of site it is and when it’s open, and we can price many jobs without a visit.

Looking after it afterwards

Looking after the system between visits is straightforward, and it helps at the next visit:

  • Do not block grilles with furniture or storage
  • Watch for water stains around grilles
  • Keep to the inspection interval in your report
  • Keep grilles and diffusers dusted

Share the report with whoever looks after the building’s maintenance, so it’s all in one place. Over time, it shows how quickly the system gets dirty.

Fit access panels where the ductwork can’t be reached. Hidden sections are the ones that get worst.

Staff cleaning versus specialist work

Keep a record of what your team does. A simple log of filter washes, wipe-downs and checks shows an inspector that the system is looked after between visits, alongside our reports.

Away from the kitchen, the in-house job is mainly checking: clear grilles, a log of filter changes and reporting anything odd. Cleaning inside ducts and units is specialist work.

Henfield questions

Can you get to a site in Henfield?

Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.

Do you work overnight in Henfield?

Yes, we can come after you close and finish before you open. Your customers, staff or residents in Henfield needn’t be disturbed. Tell us your opening hours when you ask for a quote.

Do we need to close while you work?

Not usually. We need the work area to ourselves while we are on site, so we book a time when it would be closed anyway.

What do you need from me for a quote?

Where the site is, what it is and when it’s open, plus photos of the system and your last certificate or report if you have one.

Where does the waste go?

It leaves the site with us at the end of the visit. During the work, it’s contained so the area stays clean.

Will we have paperwork to show the system was cleaned?

Yes. You get a TR19® certificate and a report with before and after pictures. Keep them in the maintenance log.

Can one contract cover all our sites?

Yes. Send the list of sites and the work at each and you will get one fixed quote.

What does ventilation duct cleaning cost?

Every site is different, so each gets its own fixed quote. To get one, phone us on 0345 646 2711 or email us and tell us about the site and its opening hours.
