TR19 inspections and grease testing in Heart's Delight, Kent
TR19 inspection for commercial sites in Heart's Delight and across Kent. BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease.
- Kitchens taken over with no cleaning records
- Uncertainty over how often to clean
- Confirming a clean reached the whole system
TR19 inspection in Heart's Delight, done properly
A fixed schedule doesn’t always match how a kitchen really cooks. Some kitchens build up grease faster than the minimum intervals assume, and only measurement shows it. We give your risk assessment measured figures rather than guesses. The work covers insurer audits, pre-clean surveys and wet film thickness tests, and common reasons people get in touch are systems cleaned on a calendar with no measurements and insurance renewals needing proof of TR19 cleaning.
In a small place like Heart's Delight, kitchens are often in older or extended buildings, with long single-storey duct runs, where grease settles in the flat sections. We agree access and timings in advance.
Every visit ends with a written report and photos, so you have a record of what was done and when. Where the work is a TR19® Grease clean, the certificate is issued through the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal.

What affects the cost of TR19 inspection
We quote each job individually. These are the things that affect it:
- Travel, parking and unloading
- When the work can happen, such as evenings, overnight or weekends
- What state the system is in
- How big the system is
The cost depends on the size of the system, what state it’s in and access to every part of it. We give you a fixed price before we start, so you know where you stand.
What we need to know
To speed up the quote, please include:
- The site address and the type of premises
- Any previous report or certificate
- The roof, plant room or outside wall the system runs to
- Close-ups of filters, grilles, hatches or access panels
Need a price for TR19 inspection? Please call us on 0345 646 2711, or email photos and tell us about the site. We’ll explain what we’d do and send a fixed quote before you commit to anything.
What we do, step by step
Your trading hours come first. Most visits are booked for when the area is out of use, such as evenings, overnight, early mornings or weekends. Once we’re in, the area is sheeted and anything that has to be off is turned off and cooled, and the job takes anything from an hour for a small canopy and short duct to a good part of a day for a large site. If you can send pictures, we can arrive in Heart's Delight knowing what to expect.
- First we look at the system’s cleaning history, if there is one.
- The layout is traced from the canopy to the discharge.
- We note where access panels are and where more are needed.
- Grease readings are taken and photos recorded.
- We report back with readings and a fixed quote.
Getting ready for the visit
- Let us know how we reach the system, including roofs, risers and plant rooms
- Mention any parking or loading restrictions
- Make sure equipment near the work can be switched off and left to cool

Advice
Why deal with it now?
Post-clean verification shows whether the system was left the way the certificate says, before the next clean is due. It’s simpler to plan the work at Heart's Delight now than to arrange it in a hurry later.
Leaving it longer rarely makes the work cheaper. Problems in a system tend to grow, and a neglected system can mean more work. If you’re unsure, give us a ring on 0345 646 2711 or drop us a line for straight advice and a fixed quote.

What else we do in Heart's Delight
Between visits
Think of this as the after-treatment advice, short and simple:
- Keep access panels clear and unpainted
- Have the latest report ready for insurance renewals
- Flag changes in how much frying the kitchen does
- Keep TR19 certificates, readings and reports together
For an insurer audit, send them the report as it is, including readings, pictures and any inaccessible sections.
Regular grease readings keep the cleaning interval honest. It spots changes in how fast grease builds.
Staff cleaning versus specialist work
Day-to-day cleaning is something your team can do: wiping canopies, washing grease filters and recording it in a log. What they cannot safely do is clean inside the ductwork, the fan or the risers, and that is where we come in.
In-house cleaning and specialist cleaning do different jobs. A daily filter wipe and a weekly filter wash keep grease down at the front of the system, but grease that has passed the filters is out of reach. That part needs specialist access and equipment.

Different parts, different methods
Restaurants, pubs and hotels
Heavy use under BESA guidance, 12 to 16 hours a day, means a clean at least every 3 months, and readings show whether that is enough.
Extract fan and discharge
The extract fan and its housing collect grease too. We check and test them as part of the inspection.
Grease, kitchens and Heart's Delight
The FSA’s data shows about 18 bars, pubs and nightclubs and about 3 hotels and guest houses registered across Heart's Delight and its immediate surroundings (about a mile and a half). Breakfasts, bar meals and functions all put grease into the extract wherever they’re cooked. In Heart's Delight, food businesses are inspected by environmental health officers from Swale council. Extraction counts as kitchen equipment, so its condition can come up on the day. Before-and-after pictures from each clean are a simple way to show the extract is in hand. Heart's Delight is covered by Kent Fire and Rescue Service. In most workplaces, including commercial kitchens, it’s the fire and rescue authority that enforces the Fire Safety Order.
Term dates shape school work: for a school like Minterne Community Junior School, an extract clean fits neatly into a half-term or summer break. If you run a church or community hall kitchen, near Church of St Peter and St Paul or elsewhere in Heart's Delight, its extract still collects grease from every lunch and event.
