TR19 inspection in Fleeden

TR19 inspection for kitchens and businesses in Fleeden

Under TR19® Grease, the mean grease thickness should stay at or below 200 microns between cleans, while a reading of 500 microns or more anywhere calls for immediate spot cleaning. Grease testing shows which side of those lines you’re on. The work covers pre-clean surveys, wet film thickness tests and access surveys, and common reasons people get in touch are sections of duct that can’t be reached and insurers asking for TR19 evidence.

Work in a small place like Fleeden starts with a call to agree access and timings, and the clean itself is the same full TR19® job as in any town: canopy to discharge, then a TR19® certificate and a photo report.

We’ve been trading since 2009, and we’re a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease. CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001 are in place too, and we’re fully insured.

Fleeden kitchens: local notes

We cover Fleeden, about 46 miles from central London, as part of our work across London and the South East. Evening, overnight and weekend visits are all possible. Fleeden sits within the area of Kent Fire and Rescue Service. Its fire safety officers can audit commercial kitchens, and grease in the extract is part of a kitchen’s fire risk.

If you look after a school kitchen, at a school such as John Wallis Academy or anywhere near Fleeden, the holidays are the usual time for a TR19® clean. If your kitchen is in a listed or historic building, like the houses around Fleeden (Godinton House is about 2.2 miles north-east), fitting access panels needs care.

Fleeden is about 3 miles west of Ashford, in Kent. For TR19 inspection in and around Fleeden, please give us a ring on 0345 646 2711, or send details by email for a fixed quote. Our area covers London and the South East, including Fleeden. Our Kent coverage runs to 922 places, Fleeden among them. There’s also a page for Maidstone, about 15 miles away.

Our technicians cover all of TN26 for TR19 inspection and the streets around it. If your site is just outside Fleeden, we cover Daniel's Water (1 mile north), Chilmington Green (1 mile east), Great Chart (1 mile north-east), Shadoxhurst (2 miles south) and Stanhope (2 miles east). Larger places within reach include Maidstone (15 miles north-west), Ashford (3 miles east), Sittingbourne (15 miles north), Faversham (13 miles north), Hythe (13 miles east) and Davington (13 miles north).

Questions from Fleeden

Can you get to a site in Fleeden?

Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. A survey first, from pictures or a visit, means we arrive with the right kit.

Can the work in Fleeden be done at night or at weekends?

Yes, we can come after you close and finish before you open. That way a site in Fleeden doesn’t have to lose a day’s trading. Just phone us on 0345 646 2711 or email us with your opening times and we will plan around them.

Do you look at the system first?

Yes. For many sites, photos and a few details are enough, while bigger or harder-to-see systems are surveyed on site.

How do you keep the site clean during the work?

Protection goes down first: floor sheeting and covers over nearby surfaces and equipment. We tidy up and take our waste away before we leave.

What do the grease readings need to be?

The TR19® Grease figures are a mean of 200 microns or less between cleans, and immediate spot cleaning wherever a reading hits 500 microns. Our report sets your readings against both.

Are you accredited?

We hold CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001, and we are a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease. The Vent Hygiene Elite scheme is run by BESCA and audited independently.

What types of premises do you cover?

Commercial premises of every kind: kitchens, offices, schools, healthcare, retail, leisure and food production. Work is timed around how each site runs.

Is a quote from pictures possible?

Often, yes. Photos of the system and the access, plus your opening hours and last report, are often enough. Where we can’t see enough, we arrange a survey.

Why act early in Fleeden

After an incident, an insurer can ask to see proof of TR19 cleaning and inspection. Without them, a claim can be reduced or refused. Getting an inspection done now starts that paper trail. Systems in rural buildings are often out of sight and out of mind.

The cost depends on the size of the system, the condition it’s in and access to every part of it. You get a fixed price before any work starts, so you know where you stand.

What happens on the day

Everything the job needs comes with us, from protective sheeting to tools and access equipment. You only need to give us clear access and switch off what needs to be off. On site, the work takes a morning or less for one kitchen, more where there are several systems. In a small place like Fleeden, the journey is planned ahead and the visit arranged around the site’s hours.

  1. After the clean, we arrange a time to check the system.
  2. The same access points are opened up.
  3. We repeat the WFTT or DTT readings.
  4. Photos are taken to show the condition after the clean.
  5. The results are reported, with anything missed flagged.

Preparing for the visit

  • Tell us the best time to work, such as after service or at a weekend
  • Move anything stored near the system
  • Let us know about parking and loading

Ask for a quote

Here’s what helps us quote: the address, the type of site and when it’s open, a few photos and any previous report or certificate. Once you have those, ring 0345 646 2711 or send us an email.

What we are called out for in Fleeden

Menus, opening hours and cooking styles change over time, and more frying or longer hours mean more grease. A cleaning interval set years ago may no longer fit.

If you notice any of these, it’s worth a diagnosis:

  • Surveys needed before quoting a full clean
  • Missing access panels found on survey
  • Checking the result of a recent clean
  • Kitchen extract systems with no recent grease readings

Healthcare kitchens can’t easily close, so their extracts are cleaned overnight or between meal services; the nearest hospital to Fleeden is William Harvey Hospital, about 4.9 miles east.

What your quote should include

  • What insurance they carry
  • Whether the quote shows VAT
  • Whether a written report and photos are included
  • How they set the interval to the next visit

Questions to ask before you book

Between visits

Results last longer with the right care. We suggest:

  • Keep access panels clear and unpainted
  • Book the next test on the date in the report
  • Keep TR19 certificates, readings and reports together
  • Flag changes in how much frying the kitchen does

Keep the verification report next to the certificate it relates to. The pair gives a clear record of the clean and the check.

Clean, correctly fitted filters stop more grease reaching the duct. Gaps around filters let grease get past them.

Different parts, different methods

Vertical risers

Access to risers is often limited. The survey shows exactly what access there is.

Horizontal duct runs

Grease can gather thickly at bends and along long runs, out of sight of the kitchen.

In-house cleaning or a specialist?

In-house cleaning and specialist cleaning do different jobs. Wiping filters daily and washing them weekly keeps the visible parts in order, but they do not reach the grease that builds up further in. That part needs specialist access and equipment.

Logging matters as much as cleaning. A simple log of filter washes, wipe-downs and checks helps show that the system is managed between specialist visits, alongside our reports.

When something else is needed

Not every problem is solved by TR19 inspection, and we’d rather say so up front. It doesn’t solve:

  • Ductwork that was designed or installed badly
  • Heavy deposits found on test, which still need cleaning
  • Fan breakdowns, which need a repair visit

Not sure which it is? You can phone us on 0345 646 2711, or email photos and we will tell you honestly before you book.
