TR19 inspection in Broad Street

TR19 inspection in Broad Street

Think of a TR19 inspection as the diagnosis before the treatment. We look at the system, take grease readings and photograph what we find, so the clean can be planned properly. If you have heavy grease suspected in the plenum or ducts and pre-clean surveys before a first TR19 clean, we can put it right.

For a kitchen in or near Broad Street, the visit is planned around opening hours and the journey, and the clean itself is the same full TR19® job as in any town: canopy to discharge, then a TR19® certificate and a photo report.

We’re CHAS and SafeContractor accredited, we hold ISO 9001 and we are fully insured. On top of that, we’re a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease, trading since 2009.

Questions from Broad Street

Do you work in villages like Broad Street?

Yes, Broad Street is part of our area, however small the site. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.

Does the sea air around Broad Street make a difference to TR19 inspection?

It can. Broad Street is within about 3 miles of the coast, and salt air speeds up corrosion. We look at fans, cowls and fixings for rust as well as grease.

Which kinds of sites do you work on?

Any site with a kitchen or a ventilation system to look after, from a single café to a large school. Hotels, schools, care homes, offices, shops and leisure sites are all part of our work.

Can you inspect our extract for our insurance company?

Yes. We inspect the system and produce a report with grease readings, photos and any inaccessible areas. You can pass it straight to your insurer or broker.

What information do you need?

Only a few details: where it is, what kind of site, when it’s open and the access. Photos and the last report help too. Then phone us on 0345 646 2711 or use the quote form.

What grease levels does TR19 allow?

Between cleans, the mean should stay at 200 microns or below, with 500 microns or more anywhere needing immediate spot cleaning.

How much notice do you need?

Book as early as you can for planned work, particularly if your next visit is nearly due. For emergencies, we take calls 24/7.

Do you look at the system first?

Yes, every time. We diagnose before we treat: the survey tells us what the system needs and how to reach it and the fixed quote is built on it.

Broad Street kitchens: local notes

Sea air reaches Broad Street, which sits within about 3 miles of the coast. Near the sea, the fan and discharge at the top of a kitchen extract corrode faster than they would inland. East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service covers Broad Street. Its fire safety officers can audit commercial kitchens, and grease in the extract is part of a kitchen’s fire risk. Food hygiene inspections in Broad Street are the job of Rother council’s environmental health team. Extraction counts as kitchen equipment, so its condition can come up on the day. Before-and-after photos from each clean are a simple way to show the extract is in hand.

Church and community hall kitchens, near The Parish Church of St Nicholas or anywhere around Broad Street, are easy to forget, but their extracts collect grease like any other. Bursars and site managers at schools such as Icklesham Church of England Primary School tend to book extract cleaning for when the kitchen is empty. Historic houses near Broad Street, such as Lamb House about 4.1 miles north-east, are a reminder that older buildings with event kitchens can have long, awkward duct routes.

Leave it or put it right?

Catching heavy deposits early keeps the fix small. Ignored, the layer only gets thicker. Equipment tucked in a roof space or outbuilding near Broad Street rarely gets looked at unless someone books it.

You will not find a price list here, because each job is priced on what it involves. Call for a fixed quote, and we will explain what it covers.

How we price TR19 inspection

The diagnosis comes before the price. We look at:

  • Any permits to work or inductions
  • The condition we find in the survey
  • How big the system is
  • The times the site is available

Combining work into one visit or one programme often makes better use of the time. Mention every system or site you need covered and we will price it together.

Helping us quote

Before you ask for a quote, gather:

  • The postcode and the type of business
  • A few general shots of the system
  • Problems your staff have spotted
  • The times we could work without disrupting the site

For TR19 inspection in Broad Street, call 0345 646 2711, or send details by email. Let us know the site type and the opening hours, plus pictures or the previous report if they’re to hand. We usually send a fixed quote within one working day.

Landlords, agents and facilities managers

Facilities teams in offices, schools and healthcare sites book us too across East Sussex. Larger estates can be phased building by building around the people who use them.

Running several sites is easier with one contractor. We cover South East England and London, so visits at different addresses can be planned together and kept on a regular cycle.

When it’s something else

Some problems need a different service or another trade:

  • A faulty or failing extract fan
  • Ductwork that was designed or installed badly
  • Heavy deposits found on test, which still need cleaning

If in doubt, call us on 0345 646 2711 or email us and we will say what we think.

Where we work

  • Deposit thickness tests
  • Access surveys
  • Pre-clean surveys
  • Wet film thickness tests
  • Insurer audits
  • Post-clean checks

What we do, step by step

We are used to working while the site is closed. Evenings, nights and weekends are when much of our work happens, so the site can open as normal afterwards. The visit itself takes a morning or less for one kitchen, more where there are several systems. In a small place like Broad Street, the journey is planned ahead and the visit arranged around the site’s hours.

  1. First we book a time that won’t disrupt cooking.
  2. The system is checked from canopy to discharge.
  3. We take WFTT or DTT readings at set points along the system.
  4. Photos are taken at each point, and access gaps noted.
  5. The findings go into a report with readings, pictures and a recommended next clean.

Preparing for the visit

  • Have your last certificate or report to hand
  • Allow time for equipment near the work to be turned off and cool down
  • Tell us about site rules, permits or sign-in

Ask for a quote

We don’t publish a price list, because no two systems are the same. We look at your system first, from photos or on a visit, and then send you a fixed quote. To get going, call 0345 646 2711 or send us an email.

Extract fan and discharge

The extract fan and its housing collect grease too. We check and test them as part of the inspection.

Sections without access are recorded so panels can be added.

In-house cleaning or a specialist?

Staff cleaning and specialist work are not the same thing. Wiping filters daily and washing them weekly keeps the visible parts in order, but they do not reach the grease that builds up further in. That part needs specialist access and equipment.

Your own staff can handle the daily basics: wiping canopies, washing grease filters and recording it in a log. What they cannot safely do is clean inside the ductwork, the fan or the risers, and that is where we come in.
