Kitchen extract cleaning for kitchens and businesses in Egypt

The part of the system nobody sees is often the dirtiest. We reach horizontal runs and vertical risers through access panels, scraping heavy deposits by hand before degreasing. Any section we can’t reach is recorded on the report, and new panels can be fitted. If you’re dealing with grease dripping from the canopy or filters and extraction mentioned at an environmental health visit, we can help. Searching for commercial kitchen extraction cleaning in Egypt? We have been cleaning kitchen extracts across the South East since 2009, as a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member.

A kitchen running fryers and chargrills all day builds up grease much faster than one that mostly steams and boils, so we look at the menu as well as the opening hours when we suggest the next date.

Rural kitchens often have long, low duct runs through a roof space or along an outside wall, and those horizontal sections are where grease settles. We agree access and timings in advance.

It’s worth checking any contractor’s accreditations. Ours are BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite membership, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease, plus CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001, with full insurance on top.

What staff can safely do

Good housekeeping makes our visits easier, not unnecessary. Regular in-house cleaning slows the build-up, but the parts you can’t see still need a specialist at the right interval.

Logging matters as much as cleaning. A simple log of filter washes, wipe-downs and checks helps show that the system is managed between specialist visits, next to our reports.

Kitchen extract cleaning in Egypt: the local picture

The FSA’s food hygiene register shows about 11 restaurants, cafés and works canteens within about 1.5 miles of central Egypt. Each one that cooks under a canopy has an extract system that collects grease and needs regular cleaning. Egypt sits within the area of Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service. The Fire Safety Order puts the duty on whoever runs a kitchen to control its fire risk, and a greasy duct is fuel. It’s Buckinghamshire council that sends environmental health officers to food businesses in Egypt. A greasy canopy or dripping filters are the sort of thing an inspection can pick up. A TR19® certificate and photo report after each clean gives you a record to show an inspector.

A hall kitchen that only cooks for events, whether near St John the Evangelist or elsewhere in Egypt, still needs its extract cleaned, just less often. Kitchens that cook twelve hours or more a day, as some healthcare kitchens do, fall into BESA’s three-monthly minimum; Wexham Park Hospital is the nearest hospital to Egypt, about 2.7 miles south-east. If you run catering at a historic house or estate in the area (Cliveden is about 3 miles west), event kitchens in older buildings often have awkward duct runs that need planning.

How we price kitchen extract cleaning

Your quote is based on your site. We take into account:

  • One-off work versus a regular cycle
  • The scale of the work
  • Where the site is and how we reach it
  • How many systems or sites are involved

We do not list prices on the website, because each job is priced on what it involves. For a fixed quote, give us a ring on 0345 646 2711 or drop us a line, and we will talk you through it.

What to send for a quote

Photos let us diagnose from a distance. Try to include:

  • Wide photos of the system and the area around it
  • Your opening hours and when the area is out of use
  • Close-ups of filters, grilles, hatches or access panels
  • Your last certificate, test record or report

To help us quote: where the site is, what it is and its opening hours, a few pictures and any previous report or certificate. Once you have those, ring 0345 646 2711, or send details by email.

Egypt questions

Can the work in Egypt be done at night or at weekends?

Yes, evening, overnight and weekend work is normal for us. It means the site in Egypt keeps running as normal. When you phone us on 0345 646 2711 or email us, mention when the site is quiet.

Who is the fire and rescue service for Egypt?

Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service is the fire and rescue service for Egypt. A recent cleaning certificate and a note of the next clean date show that grease in the extract is being managed.

Do insurers need proof of extract cleaning?

Grease-filled ducts can carry fire well beyond the kitchen. Many insurers require TR19 cleaning, and may refuse or reduce a claim without proof, so keep every certificate.

Do you offer maintenance contracts?

Yes. Scheduled maintenance plans are part of what we do, with visits at the interval your system needs. Each report recommends when the next visit should be.

What paperwork comes with a kitchen extract clean?

A TR19 certificate and a photo report. The certificate is issued through the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal, and the report includes before and after photos, grease readings and the recommended next clean date.

What do you do with what you remove?

It leaves the site with us at the end of the visit. During the work, it’s contained to keep the area clean.

Can you look after several sites?

Yes. Our area covers London and the South East, so sites at different addresses can be planned together on one programme. Each site gets its own report and pictures.

Do you clean the whole extract system or just the canopy?

All of it, from the canopy through to the discharge. Sections with no access are listed on the report, and extra panels can be fitted.

Honest limits

In fairness, there are a few things this work will not fix:

  • A fan motor or bearings that have failed (that needs a fan repair or replacement)
  • An undersized canopy or fan
  • Ductwork that’s corroded, split or leaking (that is for a ductwork contractor)

If in doubt, call us on 0345 646 2711 or send us an email and we will say what we think.

Where we work

  • Discharge points
  • Plenums and filters
  • Vertical risers
  • Horizontal duct runs
  • Canopies and hoods
  • Extract fans

The process

Everything the job needs comes with us, from protective sheeting to tools and access equipment. All we need from you is clear access and the right equipment switched off. The visit takes one visit for most kitchens, while large or complex systems may need more than one. Somewhere like Egypt, lanes, gates and parking are worth mentioning in advance.

  1. We survey the system, from your pictures or on site, canopy to discharge.
  2. We take grease readings at set points and give you a fixed quote.
  3. On the night, the equipment is off and cool and the kitchen is sheeted.
  4. We work through the system from the canopy to the fan and discharge.
  5. Readings are repeated, photos taken, and your TR19 certificate and photo report issued.

Preparing for the visit

  • Let us know about permits to work or site inductions
  • Clear loose items from the work area
  • Have your last certificate or report to hand

How to get a quote

To get a fixed quote, call us on 0345 646 2711, or send details by email and tell us the type of site, your opening hours and roughly what the system looks like. A few photos and your last certificate or report help a lot. We usually come back within one working day.

Landlords, agents and facilities managers

Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, the responsible person must assess and reduce fire risk, which may be the employer, owner, landlord, FM or managing agent. Where responsibility is shared, records matter even more.

Records are where multi-site compliance often slips. Every visit ends with a dated report and pictures, ready to show insurers, fire officers or EHOs.

Why it’s worth doing now in Egypt

Putting it off simply moves the grease further down the duct. Fat that was soft and easy to remove hardens with heat and time, and that takes more work to shift. Regular cleans keep each visit shorter. Systems in rural buildings are often out of sight and out of mind.

When the work has to happen, how we reach it and how big the site is can all change the price. Each of those is built into the quote, and the price is fixed before we start.

Different parts, different methods

Canopy and plenum

The plenum is out of sight behind the filters, so it’s easy to forget. With the filters out, the plenum is scraped and degreased.

Extract fan and discharge

At the end of the system is the discharge, and grease can collect there too. We clean it where it can be safely reached, and any limits are recorded.
