Slough · Canopy and hood cleaning
Canopy and hood cleaning in Egypt, Slough
Canopy cleaning across Egypt and nearby, timed so the site keeps working and signed off in writing with photos.
- A filter housing caked in grease
- Greasy streaks across the canopy
- Grease channels that no longer drain
How we price canopy cleaning
A fixed price needs a few facts first. We check:
- The condition of the system
- How big the system is
- One-off work versus a regular cycle
- Any permits to work or inductions
Kitchens, offices, schools and hospitals are all priced the same way: how much there is, how we reach it, what state it’s in and when we can work. Call for a fixed quote and we will explain each part.
Helping us quote
To help us quote quickly, please include:
- How we’d reach plant on a roof or in a plant room
- The site address and the type of premises
- Detail shots of panels, filters and grilles
- The paperwork from the last visit, if you have it
Photos are enough for some jobs, while others need a look on site. Larger sites, and anything hidden behind walls, ceilings or floors, are normally surveyed first. Either way, the quote is fixed before any work is booked.
Canopy cleaning in Egypt, done properly
Canopy cleaning is part of every full TR19® Grease clean, but some sites need the canopy done between full cleans. Where that is the case, we’ll be clear that the ducts and fan aren’t included, so your records stay accurate. If you’re dealing with a sticky, discoloured canopy and overflowing grease troughs and gutters, we can put it right, from canopy light fittings, plenum chambers and baffle filters onwards.
For a kitchen in or near Egypt, the visit is planned around opening hours and the journey, and the clean itself is the same full TR19® job as in any town: canopy to discharge, then a TR19® certificate and a photo report.
Insurers, fire officers and environmental health officers all look at records. So every job comes with a written report and pictures, and grease extract cleans come with a TR19® certificate issued through the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal.

What we do, step by step
Your trading hours come first. We book the visit for a time the area is closed, whether that is an evening, overnight or a weekend. Once we’re in, the area is sheeted and anything that has to be off is turned off and cooled, and the job takes a few hours, depending on the size of the canopy and how much grease has built up. If you can send pictures, we can arrive in Egypt knowing what to expect.
- We look at the canopy, filters and troughs first.
- Out of hours, the range is switched off, cooled and covered.
- We lift out the filters and scrape the plenum and housing.
- Inside and out, the hood and its troughs are cleaned.
- We put the filters back, tidy up and photograph the finished canopy.
Before we arrive
- Mention any sign-in, permit or induction we need
- Let us know about parking and loading
- Dig out any earlier paperwork for the system
How to get a quote
There’s no standard price list, because no two systems are the same. Instead, we look at your site first, from pictures or a survey, then send a fixed quote. To get going, call 0345 646 2711 or email us.

Egypt questions
Who carries out food hygiene inspections in Egypt?
In Egypt, it’s Buckinghamshire council that carries out food hygiene inspections. An officer may look up into the canopy, so clean filters on the day and a recent certificate on file both help.
Do you work at weekends in Egypt?
Yes, evening, overnight and weekend work is normal for us. It means the site in Egypt keeps running as normal. Just ring 0345 646 2711, or email photos with your opening times and we will plan around them.
Do you work in Egypt?
Yes. We work across Greater London, Surrey, Kent, Sussex, Hampshire, the Isle of Wight, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire and Essex, Egypt included.
How far ahead should we book?
The more notice, the better, particularly for night and weekend visits. We typically quote within one working day, and emergencies are covered by our 24/7 line.
What happens to the waste?
It leaves the site with us at the end of the visit. During the work, it’s contained so the area stays clean.
What does canopy cleaning cost?
The cost depends on the size of the system, its condition, access and timing. Call for a fixed quote, usually ready within one working day.
Do you look at the system first?
Yes, always. We diagnose before we treat: the survey tells us what the system needs and how to reach it and the fixed quote is built on it.
Can I just have the canopy cleaned instead of the whole system?
TR19® Grease is about the whole extract, from canopy to discharge. Cleaning the canopy alone leaves the ducts, risers and fan untouched, and the report will say what was covered.
Multi-site and managed buildings
Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, the responsible person must assess and reduce fire risk, which may be the employer, owner, landlord, FM or managing agent. With shared responsibility, good records help everyone.
Records are where multi-site compliance often slips. Each visit ends with a dated report and pictures, so you can show an insurer or inspector what was done at each site.
Looking after it afterwards
Aftercare is simple, and it helps at the next visit:
- Keep every filter in place while cooking
- Run the extract the whole time you are cooking
- Keep grease cups and drawers emptied
- Report new drips or smells from the canopy
After the clean you get a photo report showing the canopy, plenum and housing before and after. It notes what was cleaned and anything we couldn’t reach, so the record is honest and complete.
Tell us if the canopy starts dripping or the filters clog sooner than usual. More drips or quicker clogging often mean the cleaning interval needs looking at, which a grease thickness test can confirm.
What staff can safely do
Day-to-day cleaning is something your team can do: wiping canopies, washing grease filters and recording it in a log. What they can’t safely do is clean inside the ductwork, the fan or the risers, and that is where we come in.
For ventilation and air handling systems, in-house care is mostly about checks: clear grilles, a log of filter changes and reporting anything odd. Cleaning inside ducts and units is specialist work.
Honest limits
An honest diagnosis matters more to us than a booking, so here’s what this work can’t put right:
- A canopy too small for the cooking under it (that is a design question)
- A light fitting that doesn’t work
- Grease in the duct runs and risers behind the canopy
Not sure which it is? You can call us on 0345 646 2711 or send us an email and we’ll tell you honestly.

What canopy cleaning looks like in Egypt
The FSA’s food hygiene register includes about 9 pubs and bars across Egypt and its immediate surroundings (about a mile and a half). Any of them serving cooked food has an extract to keep clean, from canopy to discharge. In Egypt, food businesses are inspected by environmental health officers from Buckinghamshire council. An officer looking round a kitchen will see the canopy, and grease there is hard to miss. A dated certificate in the maintenance file answers the question before it’s asked. Fire safety in Egypt falls to Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service. Fire and rescue authorities enforce the Fire Safety Order in most non-domestic premises, and in a kitchen that fire risk includes the grease in the extract.
Bursars and site managers at schools such as Farnham Common Infant School tend to book extract cleaning for when the kitchen is empty. A hall kitchen that only cooks for events, whether near St John the Evangelist or elsewhere in Egypt, still needs its extract cleaned, just less often. If you run catering at a historic house or estate in the area (Cliveden is about 3 miles west), event kitchens in older buildings often have awkward duct runs that need planning.

Work in SL2 is surveyed, quoted and booked the same way as anywhere else. You will find streets such as Cages Wood Drive, Hammond End and The Avenue, all of which we cover for canopy cleaning. Close by, we work in Farnham Common (1 mile south-east), Hedgerley (1 mile north-east), East Burnham (1 mile south), Farnham Royal (1 mile south) and Littleworth Corner (2 miles west). Around Egypt
Locally, jobs take us to businesses close to Beechwood School, The Royal Oak pub and Caldicott School, among other places. For rail, the closest station is Burnham station, roughly 2.9 miles south-west. Well-known places in the area include Wexham Park Hospital (2.7 miles south-east). For a walk, there’s Burnham Beeches and Taplow Lake.
Part by part
Island canopies
With filters on more than one side, an island canopy has more plenum to clean. Both sides are taken apart and cleaned.
School and staff canteen kitchens
Lighter cooking still leaves grease on the canopy. The whole system still needs cleaning at least every 12 months under BESA guidance, and the canopy is part of it.
