TR19 inspection for sites in Egypt

About our TR19 inspection in Egypt

Not every kitchen fits neatly into a calendar. Some kitchens build up grease faster than the minimum intervals assume, and only measurement shows it. We give your risk assessment measured figures rather than guesses. The work covers access surveys, post-clean checks and deposit thickness tests, and common reasons people get in touch are parts of the system left out of past cleans and pre-clean surveys before a first TR19 clean.

In a small place like Egypt, kitchens are often in older or extended buildings, with long single-storey duct runs, and those horizontal sections are where grease settles. We agree access and timings in advance.

We’re CHAS and SafeContractor accredited, we hold ISO 9001 and we are fully insured. On top of that, we’re a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease, and we’ve been trading since 2009.

When it’s something else

It’s worth knowing the limits before booking:

  • Parts of the duct nobody can reach yet
  • Installation problems, which fall under design guidance such as DW172
  • Removing the grease, which is a separate clean

If you are not sure, just ring 0345 646 2711 or drop us a line and we’ll give you a straight answer before you book.

How it works

We are used to working while the site is closed. A lot of visits happen overnight or at weekends, so a kitchen or building can carry on as usual the next day. On site, the work takes a couple of hours for a typical kitchen extract system. If the van will struggle with a lane or gateway near Egypt, let us know and we’ll plan around it.

  1. First we look at the system’s cleaning history, if there is one.
  2. We follow the extract from canopy to discharge.
  3. Access panels are located and any missing ones noted.
  4. We measure the grease and photograph each point.
  5. We report back with readings and a fixed quote.

Preparing for the visit

  • Dig out any earlier paperwork for the system
  • Move anything stored near the system
  • Agree a time when the area can be out of use

We fit testing around service times and school holidays so meals are not affected.

Extract fan and discharge

The extract fan and its housing collect grease too. We check and test them as part of the inspection.

Why act early in Egypt

If there’s a fire or a claim, your insurer may ask for TR19 records. Missing records can put a claim at risk. Getting an inspection done now starts that paper trail. In a place like Egypt, ductwork and fans are easy to forget until something goes wrong.

Several systems or sites on one quote can make for a more efficient booking. Mention every system or site you need covered, and you will get one fixed quote.

Keeping the system healthy

So the system stays in good health:

  • File every inspection report with your certificates
  • Tell us if menus or opening hours change
  • Keep the route to access panels clear
  • Share inspection reports with your insurer or broker when asked

You get a report with the grease readings, where they were taken and photos of each point. File it alongside your TR19 certificates.

Keep all TR19 records together so the history is easy to show.

Your questions about TR19 inspection in Egypt

Which fire authority looks after Egypt?

Egypt is in the area of Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service. Records of extract cleaning are a sensible thing to have ready if a fire safety officer carries out an audit.

Do you do school kitchen extract cleaning in Egypt in the summer holidays?

Yes, and it’s the easiest time to do it. There are about 4 schools, colleges and universities on the FSA’s food hygiene register within about 1.5 miles of Egypt. Tell us your holiday dates and we’ll book the visit for when the site is empty.

Do you offer maintenance contracts?

Yes. We run scheduled maintenance contracts, set at the interval the system needs. Each report recommends when the next visit should be.

Is TR19 cleaning the law?

No, TR19® is not legislation. The Fire Safety Order 2005 still requires the responsible person to manage fire risk, and grease in the extract is part of that. Many insurers also expect TR19 cleaning.

What do you need from me for a quote?

Where the site is, what it is and when it’s open, along with a few photos and any previous report.

What happens to the waste?

It leaves the site with us at the end of the visit. While we work, it’s kept contained so the area stays clean.

How often should a kitchen extract be inspected?

That varies with the kitchen’s daily use. BESA’s minimum cleaning intervals are every 3, 6 or 12 months for heavy, moderate and light use, and testing shows if your kitchen needs more.

Why survey before a clean?

We look at the system from canopy to discharge, take grease readings and check access. It lets us plan the clean and send you a fixed quote.

Multi-site and managed buildings

We work for landlords, managing agents and facilities managers as well as the people running the site. Where a system serves more than one tenant, such as a shared riser, it helps to agree who arranges the work, and we can quote for the whole system.

When the building owner and the occupier are different, it’s worth checking the lease for who maintains the systems. We are happy to deal with either side, and the report can go to both.

Grease, kitchens and Egypt

Food Standards Agency records list about 11 restaurants, cafés and canteens within about 1.5 miles of central Egypt. Kitchens like these cook for very different hours, and grease testing shows which extracts need cleaning soonest. Egypt sits within the area of Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service. Grease in a kitchen extract is a recognised fire risk, and the fire authority enforces the law on managing it in most commercial premises. In Egypt, food businesses are inspected by environmental health officers from Buckinghamshire council. A greasy canopy or dripping filters are the sort of thing an inspection can pick up. A TR19® certificate and photo report after each clean gives you a record to show an inspector.

Bursars and site managers at schools such as Farnham Common Infant School tend to book extract cleaning for when the kitchen is empty. If you run catering at a healthcare site, such as a hospital like Wexham Park Hospital about 2.7 miles south-east, the extract may need cleaning more often than a part-time kitchen. Cliveden, about 3 miles west, is one of the historic houses near Egypt; if you run event catering at a venue like that, cleans can be booked between functions.

We work in commercial kitchens and buildings around Beechwood School, The Royal Oak pub and Caldicott School, among other places. The nearest railway station is Burnham station, roughly 2.9 miles south-west of the centre. Well-known places in the area include Wexham Park Hospital (2.7 miles south-east). For a walk, there’s Burnham Beeches and Taplow Lake.

How we price TR19 inspection

The diagnosis comes before the price. We look at:

  • Any permits to work or inductions
  • Whether it’s a one-off visit or part of a schedule
  • The scale of the work
  • How easy every part is to reach

We don’t list prices on the website, because each job is priced on what it involves. For a fixed quote, call 0345 646 2711, or send details by email, and we’ll talk you through it.

Helping us quote

To speed up the quote, please include:

  • Problems your staff have spotted
  • Where the site is and what kind of site it is
  • Where the plant sits or the system leaves the building, such as a roof or outside wall
  • Detail shots of panels, filters and grilles

To help us quote: where the site is, what it is and its opening hours, a few photos and the last certificate or report, if there is one. Once you have those, call us on 0345 646 2711 or send us an email.
