Signs you need kitchen deep cleaning in Small Hythe

In Small Hythe and everywhere else, a working kitchen takes a hammering. Spills, splashes, steam and heat all leave their mark over time.

Clients typically contact us when they notice one of these:

  • Build-up behind fryers and ovens
  • Greasy, darkened kitchen ceilings
  • Signs of pests drawn by food debris
  • Floors with grease along the edges

Historic houses such as Smallhythe Place (about 0.2 miles south) are part of the area around Small Hythe, and if you run event catering at a venue like that, a deep clean between seasons helps.

How to choose an extract cleaning contractor

Kitchen deep cleaning in Small Hythe, done properly

Daily cleaning keeps a kitchen running but some areas never get touched. Behind and under equipment, and high up on walls and ceilings, grease quietly builds up. Our deep clean goes after every one of those areas in one planned visit. If you have cooking equipment caked in carbon and greasy, darkened kitchen ceilings, we can put it right.

In a village or hamlet like Small Hythe, commercial kitchens are few, perhaps a pub, a school or a care home. Wherever there is one, it needs its grease trap and hard-to-reach areas kept clean.

Good records are part of the job. Each visit is written up with photos, covering the work done, any areas we couldn’t access and a recommended next date. Keep it with your fire safety records so it’s to hand when an insurer or inspector asks.

Why deal with it now?

Grease on walls, ceilings and equipment is fuel close to the cooking. The longer it’s left, the more there is, alongside the grease in the extract. Deep cleaning removes it. A planned visit to Small Hythe is easier to arrange than an emergency callout.

Kitchens, offices, schools and hospitals are all priced the same way: the size of the job, access, condition and working hours. Call for a fixed quote and we will explain each part.

When something else is needed

We’d rather tell you now than book work that won’t help, so here are the limits:

  • Drainage problems beyond the kitchen
  • Equipment that is not working properly
  • An infestation that needs specialist treatment

If you are not sure, just phone us on 0345 646 2711 or email us and we’ll give you a straight answer before booking.

What the work covers

  • Floors and floor drains
  • Ranges and ovens
  • Fryers and grills
  • Stainless steel surfaces
  • Walls and ceilings
  • Behind and under equipment

How it works

Before we leave, we walk the area with whoever is on site. We point out anything that couldn’t be reached or needs a follow-up, and it goes on the report too. The visit takes anything from a few hours to a full night, depending on the size of the kitchen. If the van will struggle with a lane or gateway near Small Hythe, let us know and we’ll plan around it.

  1. We look round the kitchen and agree exactly what’s included.
  2. Equipment is turned off and allowed to cool before anything else happens.
  3. Ceilings, walls and high-level surfaces are cleaned first, working downwards.
  4. The equipment, and the floor and walls around it, are degreased and cleaned.
  5. We finish with the floors and leave the kitchen ready to use.

How to prepare

  • Mention any sign-in, permit or induction we need
  • Name a contact who can let us in at the agreed time
  • Clear loose items from the work area

Getting a quote

Some systems can be priced from photos; others need a survey. Big or complicated sites, and systems that are hard to see in pictures, get a survey first. Either way, you get a fixed price before any work starts.

Advice

What your team can do, and what needs us

Your own staff can handle the daily basics: wiping down canopy surfaces, cleaning filters and keeping a simple log. Inside the ducts, risers and fan is specialist work, which is where we come in.

Away from the kitchen, the in-house job is mainly checking: keeping grilles clear, noting unusual noise or smells and logging filter changes. The inside of ducts and units needs a specialist.

Looking after it afterwards

To keep the system working properly between visits:

  • Book deep cleans on a regular cycle
  • Write down what gets cleaned and when
  • Deal with spills straight away
  • Pull out equipment for cleaning where it’s safe to do so

It’s easy to set the next date while we’re there. A regular cycle means the kitchen never falls far behind all year round.

Small spills that bake on become hard deposits. Keeping on top of them with deep cleans saves effort and protects the surfaces.

Small Hythe questions

Can you work in Small Hythe outside opening hours?

Yes, out-of-hours work is a big part of what we do. It means the site in Small Hythe keeps running as normal. Let us know the hours you are closed and we’ll book within them.

Who carries out food hygiene inspections in Small Hythe?

Food hygiene inspections in Small Hythe are carried out by Ashford council. An officer may look behind equipment and at drains, so it pays to have the deep clean booked before those areas build up.

Do you have insurance?

Yes. We carry full insurance, and we’ve been trading since 2009.

Which sectors do you work in?

Any site with a kitchen or a ventilation system to look after, from a single café to a large school. Hotels, schools, care homes, offices, shops and leisure sites are all part of our work.

What happens to the waste?

It’s contained and taken away. We collect grease, debris and waste water as we go, so it doesn’t spread.

Is there anything we have to do beforehand?

Very little. Move food and loose items away from the areas being cleaned, and make sure we can get in at the agreed time.

Do you survey before quoting?

Yes. Photos often do the job, while bigger or harder-to-see systems are surveyed on site.

What does TR19 mean?

TR19® is BESA’s specification for ventilation hygiene. TR19® Grease, a standalone specification since 2019, covers grease in kitchen extract systems, and TR19® Air covers general supply and extract systems.

What affects the quote in Small Hythe

There’s no set price list, because sites vary so much. The quote depends on:

  • Site rules, permits and inductions
  • How easy every part is to reach
  • Where the site is and how we reach it
  • One-off work versus a regular cycle

Putting the work off seldom saves money. Problems in a system tend to grow, and a neglected system can mean more work. If you’re not sure what’s needed, call 0345 646 2711, or email photos for straight advice and a fixed quote.

What to send for a quote

There’s no need for technical detail. Just send:

  • A few general shots of the system
  • Where the site is and what kind of site it is
  • Any access panels or hatches you can see
  • The paperwork from the last visit, if you have it

Quotes are quick. Call or email with a few details and you will normally have a fixed price within one working day. If we need to see the system first, we book a survey around your hours.
