Kitchen deep cleaning in Islip, done properly
For kitchens in Islip, we plan deep cleans around service. We work evenings, overnight and at weekends, so the kitchen is ready for the next service. Schools can book during the holidays. If you are dealing with grease built up on walls and ceilings and a clean-up ahead of an inspection, we can help, from walls and ceilings, ranges and ovens and floors and floor drains onwards.
In a village or hamlet like Islip, commercial kitchens are few, perhaps a pub, a school or a care home. Wherever there is one, it needs its grease trap and hard-to-reach areas kept clean.
Duct Doctor has been trading since 2009, and we are a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease. We also hold CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001, and we carry full insurance.

Aftercare tips
Here’s the after-treatment advice, short and simple:
- Clean spills while they’re fresh, before they bake on
- Keep a cleaning log up to date
- Repair worn surfaces that trap grime
- Pay attention to corners and edges when mopping
The kitchen is handed back ready for the next service. We go round the kitchen with you to check everything is as agreed.
Old grease hardens with every service. Booking one sooner keeps the work manageable, and keeps the kitchen ready for an inspection.
Multi-site and managed buildings
We also work for facilities teams across offices, schools and healthcare across Oxfordshire. Larger estates can be phased building by building to keep disruption down.
Managing agents often deal with us directly. Tell us the site, the work and the access arrangements, and we’ll send a fixed quote.
Honest limits
An honest diagnosis matters more to us than a booking, so here’s what kitchen deep cleaning will not do:
- Grease inside the canopy, plenum and ductwork, which needs a TR19 clean
- Equipment that is not working properly
- Worn or broken surfaces that cleaning can’t restore
If in doubt, ring 0345 646 2711, or email photos and we’ll say what we think before you book.
What the work covers
- Floors and floor drains
- Behind and under equipment
- Stainless steel surfaces
- Walls and ceilings
- Fryers and grills
- Ranges and ovens
In-house cleaning or a specialist?
If your staff spot something between visits, such as dripping grease, a noisy fan, a smell or a filter that won’t come clean, it’s best reported rather than tackled in-house. We can diagnose it and quote.
Staff cleaning and specialist work aren’t the same thing. A daily filter wipe and a weekly filter wash keep grease down at the front of the system, but they do not reach the grease that builds up further in. Reaching it takes a specialist with the right equipment.

Common questions in Islip
Who would carry out a food hygiene inspection at a kitchen in Islip?
Kitchens in Islip are inspected by Cherwell council’s environmental health officers. Keep the dates of your last deep clean and grease trap visit with your food safety records, ready if an officer asks.
Can you come to Islip after we close?
Yes. We work evenings, overnight and at weekends. Your customers, staff or residents in Islip needn’t be disturbed. When you give us a ring on 0345 646 2711 or email us, mention when the site is quiet.
Do you look at the system first?
Yes. We always survey first, either from pictures and details you send or on a site visit. Then you get a fixed quote.
Do you work with multi-site operators?
Yes. You deal with one contact for every site in our area, and visits can be set on a regular cycle.
Should we deep clean before an environmental health visit?
Yes, inspectors look at the whole kitchen. We cannot promise a particular rating but a deep clean gives you a clean starting point.
What should we do before the deep clean?
Not much. Clear food and loose items from surfaces, and make sure we can get in at the agreed time.
Can you give me a price for a deep clean?
After a look at the kitchen, from photos or on site, we send you a fixed quote. Just give us a ring on 0345 646 2711 or drop us a line and we will arrange it, and it’s normally back within one working day.
What is TR19?
A BESA specification in two main parts: TR19® Grease for kitchen extracts and TR19® Air for supply and extract systems. It isn’t law, but it’s the benchmark.
How the visit works
Everything the job needs comes with us, from protective sheeting to tools and access equipment. You only need to give us clear access and switch off what needs to be off. The visit takes anything from a single evening to more than one visit, depending on the kitchen. Visits to a village like Islip are booked in advance, at a time that suits whoever runs the site.
- We look round the kitchen and agree exactly what’s included.
- Equipment is turned off and allowed to cool before anything else happens.
- Ceilings, walls and high-level surfaces are cleaned first, working downwards.
- Equipment is cleaned inside and out, along with the areas behind and underneath it.
- We finish with the floors and leave the kitchen ready to use.
Before we arrive
- Have your last certificate or report to hand
- Clear loose items from the work area
- Let us know about permits to work or site inductions
How to get a quote
Photos are the quickest way to a quote: the system from a couple of angles, plus any access panels or hatches. Add the site type and your opening hours, and many jobs can be priced from that alone.

Every service sends grease into the air. Some is caught by the extract but the rest lands on nearby surfaces. In time, it forms a tacky film that daily cleaning struggles with.

- A kitchen that needs a clean start
- Grime in corners that pests could exploit
- Cooking equipment caked in carbon
- A kitchen getting ready for an environmental health visit
School kitchens, at schools like Dr South's Church of England Primary School for example, typically have their deep cleans and grease trap work done while the canteen is closed.
Before you book anyone

- If they look at the system before pricing
- When they can work, and whether that is outside your opening hours
- Whether a written report and pictures are included
What the work involves, part by part
Walls and ceilings
Wall cladding and tiles around the cooking line get greasy fast. They get a thorough degrease including the corners.
Floors
Greasy floors are a slip hazard. We clean them last, including under and behind equipment where it can be moved safely.
