Cooling kitchen deep cleaning
Kitchen deep cleaning for Cooling, from a team that has been trading since 2009. Out-of-hours visits and 24/7 emergency callout.
- A kitchen clean booked with the extract clean
- A kitchen that needs a clean start
- A floor that daily mopping no longer gets clean
What we’re called out for in Cooling
Ovens, ranges, grills and fryers build up baked-on deposits. Daily wiping only deals with the surface, so it builds up underneath.
Clients usually contact us after spotting one of these:
- A floor that daily mopping no longer gets clean
- Grime in corners that pests could exploit
- Cooking equipment caked in carbon
- A kitchen taken over in poor condition
Where a church or community hall near St James' Church, or anywhere in Cooling, has a kitchen used by volunteers, a periodic deep clean keeps it ready for the next event.

How we handle kitchen deep cleaning in Cooling
A deep clean pairs well with a TR19® clean of the extract. We clean the extract system and the room it serves, so the whole space is done in one go. It can also be booked on its own, between extract cleans. If you’re dealing with food debris that could attract pests and a deep clean to go alongside a TR19 extract clean, we can put it right.
In rural areas, a kitchen may drain to a private system rather than a public sewer, and fat getting past a grease trap can cause real trouble there.
For insurers and inspectors, the record counts. That is why every job is written up in a report with pictures, and grease extract cleans come with a TR19® certificate issued through the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal.

What else we do in Cooling
Multi-site and managed buildings
From a single site to a large estate, you get the same standard: diagnosis, a fixed price, work booked around your hours and a written report with pictures.
Keeping records across a portfolio is half the battle. Every visit ends with a dated report and photos, so you can show an insurer or inspector what was done at each site.
Leave it or put it right?
In Cooling, as elsewhere, grease doesn’t stay in one place. Cleaning the extract but not the room, or the other way round, only does half the job and that’s why many kitchens plan the two together. Out of sight is the usual reason a rural system goes too long without attention.
No two sites are the same, so we price each one individually. Size, access, the condition of the system and when we can work all make a difference.

Staff cleaning versus specialist work
For ventilation and air handling systems, in-house care is mostly about checks: clear grilles, a log of filter changes and reporting anything odd. The inside of ducts and units needs a specialist.
In-house cleaning and specialist cleaning do different jobs. A daily filter wipe and a weekly filter wash keep grease down at the front of the system, but they don’t reach the grease that builds up further in. That part needs specialist access and equipment.
What happens on the day
When we arrive, we check the system against the survey or the pictures you sent. Anything unexpected is raised with you before we go further. After that, the work takes several hours, depending on the kitchen and the equipment in it. Rural roads and tight entrances are worth telling us about before a visit to Cooling.
- We look round the kitchen and agree exactly what’s included.
- Cooking equipment is switched off and left to cool, and the area is prepared.
- High surfaces are cleaned first so dirt does not fall on clean areas.
- Equipment is cleaned inside and out, along with the areas behind and underneath it.
- We finish with the floors and leave the kitchen ready to use.
Before we arrive
- Let us know about permits to work or site inductions
- Find the previous report, if there is one
- Tell us where we can park and unload
How to get a quote
Some systems can be priced from pictures; others need a survey. Big or complicated sites, and systems that are hard to see in pictures, get a survey first. Either way, you get a fixed price before work begins.

Different parts, different methods
Cooking equipment
We clean the cooking equipment itself, inside and out once it’s switched off and cooled.
Canopy exteriors
The outside of the canopy collects grease and dust. The outside of the canopy is cleaned with the rest of the kitchen.
Cooling kitchens: local notes
Look up Cooling on the FSA’s food hygiene register and you’ll find about 3 cafés, restaurants and staff canteens across Cooling and its immediate surroundings (about a mile and a half). Grease settles behind fryers, under ranges and on high surfaces in kitchens like these. In Cooling, food businesses are inspected by environmental health officers from Medway council. Grease behind equipment or on a ceiling is the kind of thing an inspection can note. A cleaning log that includes deep cleans and grease trap visits shows the work is planned.
If you run catering at a healthcare site, such as a hospital like French Hospital about 4.8 miles south, deep cleans and grease trap visits are planned so meals still go out. If you cater for weddings or events at a historic house in the area (Restoration House is about 4.9 miles south), deep cleans can be fitted between bookings.

Cooling: your questions answered
Can a school kitchen in Cooling be done out of term time?
Yes, out-of-term visits are normal for schools. The FSA’s register shows about 3 schools and colleges with food registrations within roughly a mile and a half of Cooling. Send us your term dates when you call us on 0345 646 2711 or email us, and we will fit the work in.
Can you work in Cooling outside opening hours?
Yes, out-of-hours work is a big part of what we do. It means the site in Cooling keeps running as normal. Your opening times are the first thing we ask for.
Do you move heavy equipment to clean behind it?
That’s often where it’s dirtiest, so we reach it wherever it’s safe to do so. We check what can be moved safely at the start.
How much notice do you need?
For planned work, earlier is better, especially if the next clean or test is due soon. Emergencies are different, because our line is open 24/7.
Does the report say when we need you again?
Yes. Every report includes a recommended date for the next visit, based on what we found and how the system is used.
Are you accredited?
Duct Doctor is a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease. We also hold CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001, and we’re fully insured.
Do you offer emergency callouts?
Yes. If something urgent happens, like a fan failing or damage after a fire, call our 24/7 line, and we’ll advise on what to do next.
Which areas does a deep clean cover?
We clean the whole kitchen from top to bottom. The exact list is agreed when we quote and it’s all in the fixed quote.
