Grease filter exchange in Ware, Kent
A scheduled grease filter exchange, swapping dirty canopy filters for clean ones for Ware, with a survey first and a report with pictures at the end. Ask us for a fixed quote.
- Drips falling from the filters onto equipment
- Grease collecting in the filter channels
- A canopy running with filters missing
Grease filter exchange in Ware, done properly
Whether your canopy has baffle or mesh filters, they load up with grease. Once they’re clogged, airflow drops and the extract struggles. Regular exchange keeps the air moving. If you are dealing with a canopy running with filters missing and blocked baffle filters, we can help, from mesh filters, restaurants and pubs and island canopies onwards.
For a kitchen in or near Ware, the visit is planned around opening hours and the journey, and the clean itself is the same full TR19® job as in any town: canopy to discharge, then a TR19® certificate and a photo report.
Insurers, fire officers and environmental health officers all look at records. That is why every job is written up in a report with pictures, and grease extract cleans come with a TR19® certificate issued through the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal.

What affects the cost of grease filter exchange
Every site gets its own quote. These are the things that affect it:
- What state the system is in
- Access, including roofs, risers and ceiling voids
- One-off work versus a regular cycle
- When the work can happen, such as evenings, overnight or weekends
No two sites are the same, so we price each one individually. The size of the job, how we reach it, its condition and the working hours all make a difference.
Asking for a quote
Many jobs can be priced from pictures and some basics. Send what you can of the following:
- The site address and the type of premises
- When the site is open and when it’s quiet
- Detail shots of panels, filters and grilles
- Your last certificate, test record or report
Getting a quote doesn’t take long. Send a few details and pictures, and we typically reply with a fixed quote within one working day. If we need to see the system first, we book a survey around your hours.
FAQs for Ware
Do you work in villages like Ware?
Yes. Villages and rural sites across the South East are part of our work, Ware included. Just mention lanes, gates or anything else about the site when you book.
Who inspects food businesses in Ware?
Kitchens in Ware are inspected by Dover council’s environmental health officers. It helps to keep the extract cleaning records with your food safety paperwork, so they’re ready if asked for.
What paperwork should we keep on file?
Every certificate and report from each visit, kept together in your maintenance log with your in-house cleaning records. BESA advises that certificates record the date, location and technician.
Can you set up regular visits?
Yes. Plans on a 3, 6 or 12-monthly cycle are available, depending on what the system needs.
Do you offer emergency callouts?
Yes. If something urgent happens, like a fan failing or damage after a fire, call our 24/7 line, and we will advise on what to do next.
What happens to the dirty filters?
Yes. The dirty filters are taken away for cleaning and the clean set stays in the canopy.
Can we skip TR19 cleans if the filters are changed regularly?
It does not. Some grease passes the filters as vapour and settles in the ducts, so the full system still needs cleaning to TR19.
Which kinds of sites do you work on?
Commercial premises of every kind: kitchens, offices, schools, healthcare, retail, leisure and food production. Work is timed around how each site runs.
What happens on the day
On the day, we arrive at the time agreed with you, often in the evening, overnight or at the weekend so the site keeps working. Equipment that has to be off is switched off and allowed to cool first, and floors and nearby surfaces are sheeted. The work itself takes well under an hour for most canopies. Rural roads and tight entrances are worth telling us about before a visit to Ware.
- We look at the canopies and the condition of the filters.
- Any damaged or missing filters are noted.
- We exchange the dirty filters for a clean set.
- The filters are checked for fit before we go.
- Anything that needs attention, such as a greasy plenum, is pointed out.
Before we arrive
- Mention any sign-in, permit or induction we need
- Name a contact who can let us in at the agreed time
- Let us know how we reach the system, including roofs, risers and plant rooms
Getting a quote
For a fixed quote, ring 0345 646 2711 or send us an email with the site type, your trading hours and a short description of the system. Photos and the last report, if you have one, make the quote quicker. We normally come back within one working day.
Advice
Managing agents and facilities teams in Ware
Keeping records across a portfolio is half the battle. Each visit produces a dated report with photos, so you can show an insurer or inspector what was done at each site.
The Fire Safety Order 2005 puts the duty to manage fire risk on the responsible person, and that can be the employer, the owner, a landlord, a facilities manager or a managing agent. With shared responsibility, good records help everyone.
Grease, kitchens and Ware
The FSA’s food hygiene register includes about 4 pubs, bars and clubs in Ware and the streets around it, up to about 1.5 miles out. Any of them serving cooked food has an extract to keep clean, from canopy to discharge. Kent Fire and Rescue Service covers Ware. Grease in a kitchen extract is a recognised fire risk, and the fire authority enforces the law on managing it in most commercial premises. Food hygiene inspections in Ware are the job of Dover council’s environmental health team. A greasy canopy or dripping filters are the sort of thing an inspection can pick up. A TR19® certificate and photo report after each clean gives you a record to show an inspector.
A TR19® clean in Ware doesn’t stop at the filters: the plenum, ductwork, fan and discharge are cleaned too. Older buildings often hide long, awkward duct runs, and if you run a kitchen at a historic venue in the area (Goodnestone Park is about 4.3 miles south-west), access may need planning.

Why it’s worth doing now in Ware
Filters full of grease are fuel sitting right above the cooking. Flames from the range can be drawn up into the canopy, and from there into the duct. Keeping filters clean takes some of that fuel away. Systems in rural buildings are often out of sight and out of mind.
A single site or a whole portfolio, the quote is built the same way: the work involved, the access and the timing. You will have a fixed price before we start.

Looking after it afterwards
No system stays clean for ever, but care slows the build-up. A few tips:
- Make sure we can reach the canopy on exchange day
- Keep every filter in place during service
- Watch for grease drips between visits
- Keep the extract on whenever the range is in use
The next exchange is already in the diary. If the kitchen gets busier, the interval can be shortened to keep up.
Damaged filters leave gaps in the defence. Replacing them early protects the plenum and ductwork.

Visits can be planned around holidays and quieter periods, keeping the filters ready for the busy weeks.
The plenum
Clean filters reduce the grease reaching the plenum, but it’s still cleaned during a full TR19 clean.
Honest limits
In fairness, some problems need a different fix:
- A canopy too small for the cooking beneath it
- Odours from the discharge that filters will not stop
- A fan that’s failing or too weak for the system
If in doubt, call 0345 646 2711 or email us and we’ll say what we think before booking.
