Extract fan cleaning in Town Row

Extract fan cleaning for kitchens and businesses in Town Row

Is the extract fan louder than it used to be, or the airflow weaker? Tell us about it when you call us on 0345 646 2711 or email us, and we’ll send you a fixed quote for extract fan cleaning in Town Row, usually within one working day. The work covers discharge points, in-line fans and centrifugal fans, and the jobs we see most are burning smells from the fan area and a fan coated in grease inside its housing.

Rural kitchens often have long, low duct runs through a roof space or along an outside wall, where grease settles in the flat sections. We agree access and timings in advance.

Accreditations are easy to claim and worth checking. We’re a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease, and we hold CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001, with full insurance on top.

When to call us in Town Row

A fan on a roof or hidden in a ceiling void is easy to forget. A fan that has never been cleaned can be heavily coated, and the report will show it.

Signs it’s time to call us include:

  • A noisy fan that has got louder over time
  • A fan left out of previous cleans
  • Hot, greasy smells near the fan
  • Weak extraction at the canopy

A hall kitchen that only cooks for events, whether near The Parish Church of St Denys or elsewhere in Town Row, still needs its extract cleaned, just less often.

Before booking anyone

  • If the quote is a fixed price or an estimate
  • Whether the work can be done while the site is closed
  • When the next visit should be, and why

Choosing a duct cleaning contractor

How the job changes from site to site

Kitchens with long cooking hours

A long-hours kitchen can’t afford a fan failure. A clean fan is less likely to strain, and our 24/7 emergency callout is there if it happens anyway.

Impellers and blades

Coated blades move less air. We clean each blade back to its surface, so the fan can run as intended.

What a clean won’t put right

We’d rather tell you now than book work that won’t help, so here are the limits:

  • An undersized fan that cannot cope
  • A fan that will not start
  • A cracked or broken impeller (it needs replacing)

Not sure which it is? You can call 0345 646 2711 or send us an email and we’ll tell you honestly.

Fixed quotes for extract fan cleaning in Town Row

The price is fixed before any work begins. It takes into account:

  • How easy every part is to reach
  • One-off work versus a regular cycle
  • How big the system is
  • The number of sites or systems

We do not list prices on the website, because the cost depends on the site in front of us. Call for a fixed quote, and we’ll talk you through it.

Asking for a quote

To help us quote quickly, please include:

  • Problems your staff have spotted
  • Your last certificate, test record or report
  • Where the plant sits or the system leaves the building, such as a roof or outside wall
  • Where the site is and what kind of site it is

Photos are the quickest way to a quote: wide shots of the system, close-ups of anything that worries you and how we’d get to it. Add the site type and your opening hours, and many jobs can be priced from that alone.

What staff can safely do

Away from the kitchen, the in-house job is mainly checking: keeping grilles clear, noting unusual noise or smells and logging filter changes. Cleaning inside ducts and units is specialist work.

Some jobs should never be done in-house: entering ducts, working on fans, testing dampers and taking grease readings call for the right kit, training and safe access. Leave those to us.

How the visit works

Protection comes first: sheeting goes over floors and surfaces close to the work. Then we make the system safe and start. It takes an hour or two for one fan, longer when it’s hard to reach, and we clear up before we go. Somewhere as small as Town Row, the date and timings are agreed with you well before the day.

  1. The fan is found and its type, access and isolation checked.
  2. It’s isolated so it can’t run while we work.
  3. We scrape the heavy grease from the blades and housing.
  4. The fan is degreased, taking care around the motor.
  5. We reassemble, run and photograph the fan.

How to prepare

  • Make sure equipment near the work can be switched off and left to cool
  • Let us know about permits to work or site inductions
  • Agree a time when the area can be out of use

Ask for a quote

Getting a quote doesn’t take long. Send a few details and photos, and we normally reply with a fixed quote within one working day. Where a survey is needed, we arrange a time that suits the site.

For landlords and multi-site operators

Running several sites is easier with one contractor. We work across London and the South East, so a run of sites can go into one programme and kept on a regular cycle.

Landlords, managing agents and facilities managers book us, not only the businesses that use the systems. Shared systems, like a riser serving several units, need a clear agreement on who books the work, and we are happy to quote for all of it.

Town Row questions

Who is the fire and rescue service for Town Row?

Town Row is in the area of East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service. TR19® isn’t law, but it’s the benchmark many fire officers and insurers look to when they ask how often the extract is cleaned.

Do you work at weekends in Town Row?

Yes. We work evenings, overnight and at weekends. That way a site in Town Row doesn’t have to lose a day’s trading. When you phone us on 0345 646 2711 or drop us a line, mention when the site is quiet.

How much does extract fan cleaning cost in Town Row?

Every site is different, so each gets its own fixed quote. To get one, give us a ring on 0345 646 2711 or email us with the site type, opening hours and a few pictures.

Are you insured?

Yes. Full insurance covers our work, and we’ve been trading since 2009.

How much notice do you need?

It depends on the time you need and how big the job is. Mention your preferred dates with your enquiry, and for anything urgent, ring our 24/7 emergency line.

Where does the waste go?

We take it away at the end of the visit. While we work, it’s kept contained to keep the area clean.

How long does extract fan cleaning take?

It takes an hour or two for most single fans. We’ll confirm the time when we quote.

Do you repair extract fans as well as clean them?

A clean won’t mend wear. Where the fan needs repair or replacement, we can do that too, with a fixed quote first.

Grease, kitchens and Town Row

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service covers Town Row. Grease in a kitchen extract is a recognised fire risk, and the fire authority enforces the law on managing it in most commercial premises. Town Row, about 34 miles from central London, is within our usual area. The visit is fixed around your opening hours, not ours.

Term dates shape school work: for a school like Rotherfield Primary School, an extract clean fits neatly into a half-term or summer break. Older buildings often hide long, awkward duct runs, and if you run a kitchen at a historic venue in the area (Wadhurst Castle is about 4.4 miles east), access may need planning.

Town Row is about 3 miles east of Crowborough, in East Sussex. We carry out extract fan cleaning for commercial premises of every kind in Town Row and the rest of East Sussex. Our East Sussex coverage runs to 289 places, Town Row among them. For sites nearby, see our Maidstone page (20 miles or so).

Extract fan cleaning in TN6 follows the same survey, fixed quote and written report as everywhere else we cover. Local streets include Station Road, Station Close and Spout Hill, all of which we cover for extract fan cleaning. Other places close to Town Row include Rotherfield (1 mile south-west), High Cross (1 mile south), Argos Hill (1 mile south), Mark Cross (1 mile north-east) and Woolbridge (2 miles south). Within a short drive, we also cover Hailsham (13 miles south), Crowborough (3 miles west), Uckfield (8 miles south-west), South Malling (15 miles south-west), Heathfield (6 miles south) and Upper Horsebridge (12 miles south).
