About our ductwork cleaning in Ifield
We have been trading since 2009, working across London and the South East. We are a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease, with each certificate issued through the BESCA portal. Common call-outs are for a rancid smell from the extract duct and readings above 200 microns from a grease thickness test, on vertical risers, bends and junctions and attenuators.
For a smaller kitchen near Ifield, a TR19® clean is the same job as anywhere: canopy, filters, plenum, duct, fan and discharge. We plan the visit around your hours, with the journey sorted in advance.
Nothing is signed off by word of mouth: a dated report with photos of the work, plus a certificate through the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal when the work is a TR19® Grease clean. Any parts we couldn’t reach are recorded on it too.

What we do, step by step
The visit has three parts: getting the area ready, doing the work and signing it off. Getting ready means protecting surfaces and switching off what needs to be off, and the sign-off is a written report with pictures. The middle part takes longest, and that takes from a few hours to more than one visit, depending on duct length and access. Tell us when your site near Ifield is quiet and the visit will be booked for then.
- First we diagnose: the route, the access and the grease levels.
- A fixed quote follows, based on what we found.
- Each section is cleaned in turn through its access panel.
- We take extra care at bends and at the foot of risers.
- The duct is signed off with readings, pictures and a next clean date.
Preparing for the visit
- Agree a time when the area can be out of use
- Name a contact who can let us in at the agreed time
- Allow time for equipment near the work to be turned off and cool down
Getting a quote
We don’t publish a price list, because every site is different. We look at your system first, from pictures or on a visit, and then give you a fixed quote. To start, call 0345 646 2711 or use the quote form.

What your team can do, and what needs us
Day-to-day cleaning is something your team can do: wiping canopies, washing grease filters and recording it in a log. Inside the ducts, risers and fan is specialist work, which is where we come in.
If your staff spot something between visits, such as dripping grease, a noisy fan, a smell or a filter that will not come clean, it’s best reported rather than tackled in-house. We’ll take a look and give you a fixed quote.
How we price ductwork cleaning
The survey tells us what the work involves. We look at:
- The condition we find in the survey
- The times the site is available
- Site rules, permits and inductions
- Parking and loading at the site
The cost depends on how big the system is, what state it’s in and access to every part of it. You get a fixed price before any work starts, so you know where you stand.
Helping us quote
A few details help us quote accurately. When you get in touch, it helps to send:
- Where the plant sits or the system leaves the building, such as a roof or outside wall
- Wide pictures of the system and the area around it
- Where the site is and what kind of site it is
- When the site is open and when it’s quiet
For ductwork cleaning in Ifield, call 0345 646 2711 or email us. Let us know the site type and the opening hours, plus photos or the previous report if they’re to hand. A fixed quote typically follows within one working day.
Your questions about ductwork cleaning in Ifield
Which fire service covers Ifield?
West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service is the fire and rescue service for Ifield. If a fire safety officer visits a commercial kitchen, they may ask about the fire risk assessment and how the extract is kept clean.
Will you come out to Ifield?
Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. Photos of the system and directions to the site help us plan the visit.
Do you work with multi-site operators?
Yes. Send the list of sites and the work at each and we’ll quote them together.
Is there a survey before the work?
Yes, every time. Diagnosis comes before treatment: the survey tells us what the system needs and how to reach it and the fixed quote is built on it.
Which kinds of sites do you work on?
We work for restaurants, pubs, hotels, schools, colleges, hospitals, care homes, offices and shops, as well as food production and leisure sites.
How often does extract ductwork need cleaning?
At least as often as BESA guidance sets for your cooking hours. Kitchens cooking 12 to 16 hours a day need it at least every 3 months, while lighter use can go longer.
Are you accredited?
We are a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease. CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001 are in place too, and we are fully insured.
Do you offer emergency callouts?
Yes, 24/7. Our office is open from 8am to 6pm on weekdays, with the emergency line covering every other hour.
What happens if it’s left?
Under BESA guidance, the mean grease level should stay at or below 200 microns between cleans. A reading of 500 microns or more at any point means a spot clean straight away. Leaving the duct makes those limits harder to keep to. Even a site near Ifield that is only busy part of the week needs its system checked on a schedule.
Whatever the type of site, the quote works the same way: the size of the job, access, condition and working hours. Ask for a fixed quote and we will go through it with you.

Landlords, agents and facilities managers
Whether it’s one building or many, you get the same standard: diagnosis, a fixed price, work booked around your hours and a written report with photos.
We also work for facilities teams across offices, schools and healthcare across West Sussex. Larger estates can be phased building by building around the people who use them.
When something else is needed
Not every problem is solved by ductwork cleaning, and we will tell you before we start. It won’t put right:
- A damper stuck open in the duct
- Ductwork that was poorly designed
- Sections that can’t be reached safely without new access (those are recorded, and panels can be fitted)
Not sure which it is? You can phone us on 0345 646 2711 or email us and we will tell you honestly before booking.

Ductwork cleaning around Ifield
The FSA’s food hygiene register shows about 68 restaurants, cafés and works canteens and about 35 sandwich bars and takeaways within roughly a mile and a half of the centre of Ifield. Where they cook under a canopy, grease doesn’t stop at the filters: it settles along the duct and up the riser. West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service covers Ifield. Grease in a kitchen extract is a recognised fire risk, and the fire authority enforces the law on managing it in most commercial premises. It’s Crawley council that sends environmental health officers to food businesses in Ifield. They look at how clean the premises and equipment are, and the kitchen extract is part of that. Before-and-after pictures from each clean are a simple way to show the extract is in hand.
Bursars and site managers at schools such as St Margaret's CofE Primary School tend to book extract cleaning for when the kitchen is empty. If you run catering at a healthcare site, such as a hospital like Crawley Hospital about 0.6 miles south-east, the extract may need cleaning more often than a part-time kitchen. Where a hall near St Margaret's Church, or anywhere in Ifield, hosts lunch clubs or events, its extract gathers grease just as a café’s does.

What the work involves, part by part
Vertical risers
Cleaning a riser needs access along its height. Any part that can’t be safely reached is recorded.
Access panels
Panels have to seal properly once they’re closed so the duct stays tight. We’ll tell you if any panel needs replacing.
