How we handle ductwork cleaning in Egypt
Not sure when the ductwork was last cleaned? A few details about the system are a good start when you call us on 0345 646 2711 or use the quote form, and a fixed price will follow, usually within one working day. If you’re dealing with duct runs with no cleaning record and grease leaking from duct joints, we can put it right, from multi-storey ducts, horizontal duct runs and vertical risers onwards.
In a village or hamlet like Egypt, the kitchens that need extract cleaning are usually a pub, a school, a care home or a hall kitchen, wherever there is one. Each still has a canopy and duct that collect grease, whatever the size of the place.
Duct Doctor has been trading since 2009, and we’re a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease. CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001 are in place too, and we carry full insurance.

Egypt questions
Do you work overnight in Egypt?
Yes, nights and weekends are routine for us. The work in Egypt can fit around your hours. Let us know the hours you are closed and we will book within them.
Is Egypt within the area you cover?
Yes. Egypt is within the area we cover across London and the South East. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.
Is a quote from photos possible?
Typically, yes. Send wide shots, close-ups of any access panels and anything that worries you, and we usually come back within one working day. Some sites still need a visit, and we will say so.
How long does it take to clean extract ducts?
Duct length, access and grease levels all affect it. As a guide, it takes a few hours for a short run, longer for long runs and tall risers.
What types of premises do you cover?
Any commercial site with kitchens or ventilation, from a single café to a large school. Hotels, schools, care homes, offices, shops and leisure sites are all part of our work.
Which accreditations do you hold?
BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite membership, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease, plus CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001. We have been trading since 2009 and we’re fully insured.
How much does ductwork cleaning cost in Egypt?
Size, condition, access and working hours all affect the cost. Ask us for a fixed quote and we will typically reply within one working day.
Are you insured?
Yes. Full insurance covers our work and have been trading since 2009.
How the job changes from site to site
Horizontal duct runs
Grease settles on the floor of a flat duct run. We scrape out the heavy layer first, then the walls and roof are cleaned too.
Attenuators and discharge
At the end of the duct is the discharge. Grease can collect there and stain the area around it, so it’s cleaned as far as safe access allows.
What a clean won’t put right
We won’t sell you work that doesn’t address the problem, so here are the limits:
- Ductwork that was poorly designed
- Parts of the duct with no way in
- Leaking duct joints that need repair
If in doubt, give us a ring on 0345 646 2711 or send us an email and we’ll say what we think before you book.

Kitchen extracts in Egypt
There are about 4 cafés, restaurants and staff canteens in Egypt and the streets around it, up to about 1.5 miles out, according to the Food Standards Agency’s register. Each kitchen that cooks under a canopy sends grease-laden air into a duct, where it cools and settles. Egypt sits within the area of Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service. Its fire safety officers can audit commercial kitchens, and grease in the extract is part of a kitchen’s fire risk. Environmental health officers from Winchester City council inspect food businesses in Egypt. A greasy canopy or dripping filters are the sort of thing an inspection can pick up. Before-and-after photos from each clean are a simple way to show the extract is in hand.
Whether the kitchen is in Egypt itself or nearby, a TR19® clean covers the whole system, canopy to discharge. Where a hall near Ebenezer Methodist Chapel, or anywhere in Egypt, hosts lunch clubs or events, its extract gathers grease just as a café’s does.

What affects the cost of ductwork cleaning
We do not publish a price list, because sites vary so much. What we look at:
- Whether we need access equipment or extra panels
- Any permits to work or inductions
- The times the site is available
- Whether several sites go on one quote
No two sites are the same, so each one gets its own fixed quote. The size of the job, how we reach it, its condition and the working hours all play a part.
What we need to know
We can often survey from photos. The most useful are:
- The site address and the type of premises
- The times we could work without disrupting the site
- Where the plant sits or the system leaves the building, such as a roof or outside wall
- The paperwork from the last visit, if you have it
If you need ductwork cleaning in Egypt, phone us on 0345 646 2711, or send details by email. Tell us what kind of premises it is and when it’s open, and send photos or your last report if you can. A fixed quote normally follows within one working day.
What your team can do, and what needs us
Away from the kitchen, the in-house job is mainly checking: clear grilles, a log of filter changes and reporting anything odd. Cleaning inside ducts and units is specialist work.
In-house cleaning and specialist cleaning do different jobs. A daily filter wipe and a weekly filter wash keep grease down at the front of the system, but grease that has passed the filters is out of reach. That part needs specialist access and equipment.
Looking after it afterwards
Once we have finished, these simple steps help:
- Store the certificate with the fire risk assessment
- Check readings when the menu changes
- Keep to the interval on the report
- Get panels fitted where the duct couldn’t be cleaned
You’ll have a recommended date for the next clean, worked out from the grease we found and how long you cook each day, in line with BESA guidance.
Keep to the cleaning interval on the report. A change in cooking hours may change the interval under BESA guidance, and grease thickness testing will show it.
Why it’s worth doing now in Egypt
A dirty duct is something insurers ask about. Many policies require TR19 cleaning, and a claim may be refused or reduced without evidence. A certificate that covers the ductwork is what they want to see. Out of sight is the usual reason a rural system goes too long without attention.
Kitchens, offices, schools and hospitals are all priced the same way: the size of the job, access, condition and working hours. Ask for a fixed quote and we will go through it with you.
Why book with us
- Work around your opening hours, with 24/7 emergency cover
- Fixed quotes, usually within one working day
- Every job surveyed first
- CHAS and SafeContractor accredited, with ISO 9001

How the visit works
Before we leave, we walk the area with whoever is on site. Anything we couldn’t reach or that needs attention is pointed out there and then, and it goes on the report too. All told, the work takes from a few hours to more than one visit, depending on duct length and access. Visits to a village like Egypt are booked in advance, at a time that suits whoever runs the site.
- Diagnosis: a survey of the duct’s route, size and access.
- You get a fixed price before work starts.
- Each section is cleaned in turn through its access panel.
- Bends, risers and the base of each riser get extra attention.
- The duct is signed off with readings, photos and a next clean date.
How to prepare
- Let us know about permits to work or site inductions
- Dig out any earlier paperwork for the system
- Tell us about access, such as roof hatches, plant rooms, ceilings or locked areas

Some systems can be priced from pictures; others need a survey. Larger sites, and anything hidden behind walls, ceilings or floors, are normally surveyed first. Either way, you get a fixed price before we start.
