AHU cleaning across Egypt

What affects the cost of AHU cleaning

The price is fixed before any work begins. It takes into account:

  • Whether several sites go on one quote
  • Access, including roofs, risers and ceiling voids
  • The condition of the system
  • Whether it’s a one-off visit or part of a schedule

Combining work into one visit or one programme often makes better use of the time. Tell us about everything you’d like looked at, and you will get one fixed quote.

Asking for a quote

When you call or email, it’s useful to have:

  • A few general shots of the system
  • Your opening hours and when the area is out of use
  • The roof, plant room or outside wall the system runs to
  • Any previous report or certificate

Every quote begins with a look at the system, from your pictures and details or, where that is not enough, a survey on site. After that, you get a fixed price for the work so you know the cost before we start.

AHU cleaning for kitchens and businesses in Egypt

Drain trays under cooling coils are meant to empty. If the outlet blocks, standing water and slime build up, in the airstream that feeds the building. Cleaning and clearing it is a key part of the job. The work covers internal panels, dampers and louvres and heating and cooling coils, and common reasons people get in touch are fan sections that haven’t been cleaned in years and air handling units due a clean after building work.

In a village or hamlet like Egypt, few buildings have mechanical ventilation, but those that do need it inspected and cleaned like any other.

The report is your system’s health record: dated, with pictures, and showing what was done. Grease extract cleans are also certificated to TR19® Grease through the BESCA VHE portal, ready for your insurer.

How the visit works

Your trading hours come first. We book the visit for a time the area is closed, whether that is an evening, overnight or a weekend. Once we’re in, the area is sheeted and anything that has to be off is turned off and cooled, and the work takes one overnight shift for many single units, with bigger plant phased. If the van will struggle with a lane or gateway near Egypt, let us know and we’ll plan around it.

  1. First the unit is surveyed, from photos or a visit, and the scope agreed.
  2. With your site team, the unit is switched off and isolated, then the area around it protected.
  3. We clean or change the filters as agreed, then clean the coils, fan and internal panels.
  4. Standing water and slime come out of the tray and the drain is checked.
  5. We close up the unit and send the certificate and before and after pictures.

Preparing for the visit

  • Mention any locked doors, roof access or ceiling voids
  • Mention any sign-in, permit or induction we need
  • Tell us the best time to work, such as after service or at a weekend

Getting a quote

To get a fixed quote, call 0345 646 2711 or email us with the site type, your trading hours and a short description of the system. Photos and the last report, if you have one, make the quote quicker. You’ll typically have a quote within one working day.

Honest limits

We’d rather tell you now than book work that won’t help, so here are the limits:

  • Breakdowns that need a mechanical engineer
  • Controls and BMS settings that run the unit
  • A system that is undersized for the building

Not sure which it is? You can call 0345 646 2711 or drop us a line and we’ll tell you honestly before you book.

From a single site to a large estate, the standard is the same: a survey first, a fixed quote, the work timed around the site and a report with photos.

Where a tenant occupies the premises but the landlord owns the building, it’s worth checking the lease for who maintains the systems. We’re happy to deal with either side and send the paperwork to whoever needs it.

In-house cleaning or a specialist?

Good housekeeping makes our visits easier, not unnecessary. Regular in-house cleaning slows the build-up, but hidden parts of the system still need specialist attention.

Day-to-day cleaning is something your team can do: wiping canopies, washing grease filters and recording it in a log. What they can’t safely do is clean inside the ductwork, the fan or the risers, and that’s where we come in.

What the work involves, part by part

Rooftop and plant room units

Many AHUs sit on roofs or in plant rooms with limited access. We plan safe access as part of the survey so the quote reflects it.

Fans and fan sections

Before the fan is touched, the unit is shut down and made safe in agreement with the site.

What happens if it’s left?

Dirty coils and fans make the unit strain to move the same air. The result is extra wear and a building that doesn’t feel as comfortable, and a clean on your terms beats a breakdown on nobody’s. Equipment tucked in a roof space or outbuilding near Egypt rarely gets looked at unless someone books it.

Every site is different, so we price each one individually. Size, access, the condition of the system and when we can work all make a difference.

Is Egypt within the area you cover?

Yes. Villages and rural sites across the South East are part of our work, Egypt included. Let us know about access, parking and anything unusual about getting there when you book.

Can you clean without disrupting the building?

Yes. We work evenings, overnight and weekends, so offices, schools and shops can carry on.

Is there a report after cleaning?

Yes, both a certificate and a report with pictures. The report also suggests when the unit should next be inspected.
