AHU Cleaning in The Hangers
AHU cleaning for The Hangers, from a team that has been trading since 2009. Out-of-hours visits and 24/7 emergency callout.
- Plant that has been serviced but not cleaned
- Dust-coated heating and cooling coils
- Air handling units with blocked filters
How we price AHU cleaning
We quote each job individually. This is what makes a difference:
- The size of the system
- Working hours and out-of-hours timing
- Any permits to work or inductions
- The number of sites or systems
You will not find a price list here, because the cost depends on the site in front of us. Call for a fixed quote, and we will talk you through it.
Helping us quote
When you contact us, it’s useful to have:
- Any access panels or hatches you can see
- The paperwork from the last visit, if you have it
- Photos showing the whole system and its surroundings
- The site address and the type of premises
To get a fixed quote, call 0345 646 2711 or send us an email and tell us the type of site, your opening hours and roughly what the system looks like. A few photos and your last certificate or report help a lot. You will normally have a quote within one working day.
About our AHU cleaning in The Hangers
Heating and cooling coils trap dust that gets past the filters. A coated coil restricts airflow and makes the unit work harder. Coils are cleaned carefully, with methods chosen so the fins aren’t flattened. If you are dealing with air handling units never cleaned inside and dirty fans and fan housings, we can help, from filter sections, drain trays and internal panels onwards.
Work in a small place like The Hangers starts with agreeing access and timings.
We’ve been trading since 2009, as a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease. CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001 are in place too, and we carry full insurance.

Leave it or put it right?
Standing water in a drain tray does not clear itself. Leave it and you risk overflows, leaks into the space below and odours carried round the building. Clearing it now is a much smaller job. If the system at a site near The Hangers fails, there may be nowhere nearby to move to.
The cost depends on how big the system is, what state it’s in and access to every part of it. You get a fixed price before we start, so there are no surprises.

When something else is needed
Some problems need a different service or another trade:
- Leaking heating or cooling coils
- Airflow problems caused by the system’s design
- The supply and extract ducts, quoted separately
If in doubt, ring 0345 646 2711, or send details by email and we’ll say what we think.
Parts of the system we cover
- Drain trays
- Filter sections
- Heating and cooling coils
- Internal panels
- Supply and extract fans
- Dampers and louvres
Aftercare tips
So the system stays in good health:
- Keep filter changes on time and recorded
- Plan the next inspection before the last report gets filed away
- Clear leaves and litter away from the intake
- Note any water around the unit or leaks below it
We recommend when the unit should next be inspected or cleaned, based on what we found. Under TR19® Air the timing is set by inspection and risk, not a fixed calendar.
Make the drain tray part of every maintenance visit. Catching a slow drain early stops standing water building up.
What we do, step by step
We work around your opening hours, not the other way round. Most visits are booked for when the area is out of use, such as evenings, overnight, early mornings or weekends. Once we are in, the area is sheeted and anything that has to be off is turned off and cooled, and the work takes from a few hours for a compact unit to a day or more for a large one. Photos of the system and how to reach it help us plan a visit to The Hangers.
- First we agree when the unit can be switched off, including evenings or weekends.
- We take before photos of each section of the unit.
- We work through the unit from the intake to the outlet.
- The fan and drain tray are cleaned and the drain checked.
- We take after photos and issue the certificate and report.
Preparing for the visit
- Tell us about access, such as roof hatches, plant rooms, ceilings or locked areas
- Have your last certificate or report to hand
- Arrange a key holder or contact on site
How to get a quote
The quickest way to a quote is to send photos: wide shots of the system, close-ups of anything that worries you and how we’d get to it. Tell us what kind of site it is and when it’s open, and we can price many jobs without a visit.
Related advice
Different parts, different methods
Drain trays
Condensate from the coil drips into a tray beneath it. We clear standing water, clean out slime and check the outlet is draining.
Internal casing and panels
Loose or damaged linings inside a unit can break up into the airstream. We note any we find in the report.

Multi-site and managed buildings
Running several sites is easier with one contractor. We cover South East England and London, so visits at different addresses can be planned together and kept to a regular schedule.
We work for landlords, managing agents and facilities managers as well as the people running the site. Shared systems, like a riser serving several units, need a clear agreement on who books the work, and we can quote for the whole system.
