AHU cleaning in Hale

Why it’s worth doing now in Hale

Dirty coils and fans make the unit strain to move the same air. That means more wear on the motor and rooms that feel less fresh, and a planned clean is far less disruptive than a breakdown. In a place like Hale, ductwork and fans are easy to forget until something goes wrong.

When the work has to happen, how we reach it and how big the site is can all change the price. We take each of them into account and give you a fixed price before work begins.

How we handle AHU cleaning in Hale

A cooling coil drips condensate into a tray that should drain away. When the drain blocks, water sits there and the tray turns slimy, in the airstream that feeds the building. Clearing and cleaning the tray is central to every AHU clean. If you have dirty coils holding back the airflow and debris and leaves in the fresh air intake, we can put it right, from supply and extract fans, drain trays and internal panels onwards.

In rural areas, ventilation units are often in roof voids or outbuildings, which makes them easy to overlook.

The report is your system’s health record: a dated account with pictures of everything we did. Grease extract cleans are also certificated to TR19® Grease through the BESCA VHE portal and sits alongside the report.

Hale: your questions answered

Is Hale within the area you cover?

Yes, smaller places are covered as well as towns. Just mention lanes, gates or anything else about the site when you book.

Can you come to Hale after we close?

Yes. We work evenings, overnight and at weekends. It means the site in Hale keeps running as normal. When you give us a ring on 0345 646 2711, or email photos, mention when the site is quiet.

What do you do with what you remove?

Anything we remove is contained as we work and taken away with us, including grease, debris and dirty water. None of it is left on site.

What do you need from me for a quote?

The site address, the type of premises and your opening hours, plus pictures of the system and your last certificate or report if you have one.

Do you do ventilation duct cleaning too?

Yes, supply and extract ducts, grilles and diffusers. We will tell you after the survey whether the ducts need it.

Are you fully insured?

Yes. We carry full insurance and have been trading since 2009.

Do you survey before quoting?

Yes. We always survey first, either from photos and details you send or on a site visit. Then you get a fixed quote.

What types of premises do you cover?

Any commercial site with kitchens or ventilation, from a single café to a large school. We work with hotels, schools, care homes, offices, retail and leisure sites.

How the job changes from site to site

Internal casing and panels

Access doors and panels are opened in turn and closed properly afterwards before the unit is handed back.

Filters

Every AHU relies on its filters to catch dust before it reaches the coils. We check them, and clean or change them as agreed in the quote, and the housing around them is cleaned too.

What affects the quote in Hale

We quote each job individually. This is what makes a difference:

  • Any permits to work or inductions
  • Access, including roofs, risers and ceiling voids
  • The condition we find in the survey
  • The size of the system

What you pay depends on the size of the system, the condition it’s in and how easy it is to reach. You get a fixed price before any work starts, so you know where you stand.

Helping us quote

Photos let us diagnose from a distance. The most useful are:

  • When the site is open and when it’s quiet
  • Where the plant sits or the system leaves the building, such as a roof or outside wall
  • The site address and the type of premises
  • Photos showing the whole system and its surroundings

Photos are the quickest way to a quote: wide shots of the system, close-ups of anything that worries you and how we’d get to it. Tell us what kind of site it is and when it’s open, and many jobs can be priced from that alone.

In-house cleaning or a specialist?

In-house cleaning and specialist cleaning do different jobs. A daily filter wipe and a weekly filter wash keep grease down at the front of the system, but grease that has passed the filters is out of reach. That part needs specialist access and equipment.

Good housekeeping makes our visits easier, not unnecessary. Regular in-house cleaning slows the build-up, but the parts you cannot see still need a specialist at the right interval.

What happens on the day

We turn up at the time agreed with you, often in the evening, overnight or at the weekend so the site keeps working. Anything that needs to be off for the work is switched off and left to cool before work begins, and floors and nearby surfaces are sheeted. On site, it takes one overnight shift for many single units, with bigger plant phased. Visits to a village like Hale are booked in advance, at a time that suits whoever runs the site.

  1. The survey covers the unit, its access and how it can be shut down.
  2. The area is protected and the unit made safe.
  3. Dirt and debris are removed from each section.
  4. Coils and trays are cleaned and the condensate drain cleared.
  5. The unit is closed up and handed back, with a report to follow.

Before we arrive

  • Find the previous report, if there is one
  • Make sure equipment near the work can be switched off and left to cool
  • Tell us about site rules, permits or sign-in

Ask for a quote

Every quote begins with a look at the system, from your pictures and details or, where that is not enough, a survey on site. After that, you get a fixed price for the work, before we start.

Honest limits

An honest diagnosis matters more to us than a booking, so here’s what this work cannot put right:

  • Coils that are corroded or leaking and need replacing
  • Ventilation that was badly designed in the first place
  • Mechanical faults with motors, belts or bearings

Not sure which it is? You can give us a ring on 0345 646 2711 or send us an email and we will tell you honestly before booking.

Between visits

Simple habits between visits make a real difference. We recommend:

  • Make sure the unit’s access doors open easily
  • Book the next check in line with the report
  • Keep filter changes on time and recorded
  • Clear leaves and litter away from the intake

The report suggests a date for the next inspection or clean, based on what we found. Under TR19® Air the timing is set by inspection and risk, not a fixed calendar.

Regular inspection under TR19® Air shows when cleaning is due instead of leaving it to guesswork.
