Egypt buildings and their air
Going by the FSA’s register, there are about 4 schools, colleges and universities and about 4 care, childcare and hospital premises serving food within about 1.5 miles of central Egypt. Buildings like these often rely on mechanical ventilation, which TR19® Air covers. Egypt is about 23 miles from central London, well within the area we cover across London and the South East. We work evenings, overnight and at weekends, so the visit fits around the site. Egypt’s nearest hospital, Wexham Park Hospital, is about 2.7 miles south-east. Clean air matters most where people are unwell, and that’s as true in a care home as in a hospital.
If you manage a school such as Farnham Common Infant School, ventilation cleaning is best booked for the holidays.
Egypt is about 3 miles north of Slough, in Slough. Egypt gets the same approach as every site we work on: a survey first, a fixed quote, work timed around your hours and a report with photos. Egypt is one of 31 places in Slough where we work for AHU cleaning. We also work in Reading, about 17 miles from Egypt.
All of SL2 is within our area for AHU cleaning, from busy streets to back roads. You will find streets such as Cages Wood Drive, Hammond End and The Avenue, all of which we cover for AHU cleaning. Other places close to Egypt include Farnham Common (1 mile south-east), Hedgerley (1 mile north-east), East Burnham (1 mile south), Farnham Royal (1 mile south) and Littleworth Corner (2 miles west). Within a short drive, we also cover Slough (3 miles south), Cippenham (3 miles south), Chalvey (4 miles south), Langley (5 miles south-east), Upton (4 miles south) and Burnham (3 miles south-west).
Around Egypt
Typical jobs here are in premises near Beechwood School, The Royal Oak pub and Caldicott School. Egypt’s nearest station is Burnham station, roughly 2.9 miles south-west of the centre. Other landmarks nearby include Wexham Park Hospital (2.7 miles south-east). The countryside around Egypt includes Burnham Beeches and Taplow Lake.
AHU cleaning for kitchens and businesses in Egypt
The fan pushes every bit of air in the system, so dust on its blades and housing ends up in the airstream. Fan, housing and the surrounding panels are cleaned as part of the job, once the unit has been shut down and isolated. The work covers heating and cooling coils, internal panels and supply and extract fans, and the jobs we see most are dirty fans and fan housings and dirty filters cutting the airflow.
In a village or hamlet like Egypt, few buildings have mechanical ventilation, but where it’s fitted, it needs the same inspection and cleaning as anywhere.
The report is your system’s health record: a dated account with photos of everything we did. For TR19® Grease cleans, the certificate comes through the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal, ready for your insurer.

Signs you need AHU cleaning in Egypt
Air handling units are usually tucked away on roofs, in plant rooms or above ceilings and are rarely seen by anyone but maintenance staff. Months can pass without anyone looking inside.
Clients normally contact us when they notice one of these:
- Dust-coated heating and cooling coils
- Dirty fans and fan housings
- Plant that has been serviced but not cleaned
- Intake sections clogged with outdoor debris
Healthcare buildings such as Wexham Park Hospital, about 2.7 miles south-east, depend on their ventilation; if you manage a surgery, clinic or care home near Egypt, yours matters too.
What to look for in a quote
- If the quote is a fixed price or an estimate
- Their accreditations, such as BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite, CHAS or SafeContractor
- Proof of insurance
- When they can work, and whether that’s outside your opening hours
Fixed quotes for AHU cleaning in Egypt
We do not publish a price list, because sites vary so much. The quote depends on:
- Site rules, permits and inductions
- A single visit or a regular plan
- The size of the system
- Where the site is and how we reach it
A single site or a whole portfolio, we price it on the same basis: what needs doing, how we get to it and when. The price is fixed before any work starts.
Helping us quote
Photos let us diagnose from a distance. Try to include:
- When the site is open and when it’s quiet
- Your last certificate, test record or report
- Detail shots of panels, filters and grilles
- Problems your staff have spotted
Photos are enough for some jobs, while others need a look on site. Big or complicated sites, and systems that are hard to see in pictures, get a survey first. Either way, you get a fixed price before work begins.
What your team can do, and what needs us
Your own staff can handle the daily basics: wiping canopies, washing grease filters and recording it in a log. What they cannot safely do is clean inside the ductwork, the fan or the risers, and that is where we come in.
For ventilation and air handling systems, in-house care is mostly about checks: clear grilles, a log of filter changes and reporting anything odd. The inside of ducts and units needs a specialist.
Multi-site and managed buildings
Running several sites is easier with one contractor. We cover South East England and London, so visits at different addresses can be planned together and kept on a regular cycle.
We regularly work with managing agents. Tell us the site, the work and the access arrangements and we will come back with a fixed quote.
Egypt questions
Can you work in Egypt outside opening hours?
Yes. We work evenings, overnight and at weekends. Your customers, staff or residents in Egypt needn’t be disturbed. Your opening times are the first thing we ask for.
Do you cover smaller places like Egypt?
Yes. Egypt is within the area we cover across London and the South East. A survey first, from photos or a visit, means we arrive with the right kit.
Which kinds of sites do you work on?
We work for restaurants, pubs, hotels, schools, colleges, hospitals, care homes, offices and shops, plus food production and leisure sites.
What accreditations do you have?
CHAS, SafeContractor, ISO 9001 and BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite membership, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease. We’re fully insured and have been trading since 2009.
Do you survey before quoting?
Yes. For many sites, photos and a few details are enough, while bigger or harder-to-see systems are surveyed on site.
Do you repair air handling units?
We clean the unit and flag faults rather than repair them, with the details in the report.
Which parts of an air handling unit do you clean?
The main parts are the filters, coils, drain tray, fan and inside of the casing. We confirm the scope after looking at the unit.
How do you keep the site clean during the work?
With sheeting and covers, before anything else happens. We keep the work contained and clean down when we finish.
The process
A visit follows the same order every time: protect the area, isolate whatever needs isolating, do the work, tidy up and hand over the paperwork. The visit itself takes anything from half a day for one small unit to several shifts for a plant room full of them. The timing of a visit to Egypt is set by you, and the travel is our side of the planning.
- We survey the unit from pictures or on site and agree what’s included.
- The unit is shut down with your site team and the area protected.
- Filters, coils, fan section and casing are cleaned in turn.
- Drain trays are cleared and cleaned and the outlet checked.
- A TR19® certificate and photo report follow the clean.
How to prepare
- Make sure equipment near the work can be switched off and left to cool
- Move anything stored near the system
- Mention any locked doors, roof access or ceiling voids
Get a fixed quote
Quotes are quick. Send a few details and photos, and we normally reply with a fixed quote within one working day. Where a survey is needed, we arrange a time that suits the site.

When something else is needed
AHU cleaning can’t fix everything, and we’ll tell you before any work starts. It does not solve:
- Problems with the unit’s controls or sensors
- The supply and extract ducts, quoted separately
- Airflow problems caused by the system’s design
If in doubt, phone us on 0345 646 2711 or email us and we will say what we think.
What the work covers
- Heating and cooling coils
- Supply and extract fans
- Dampers and louvres
- Drain trays
- Filter sections
- Internal panels
Aftercare tips
A little care between visits keeps the system in better shape. Our advice:
- Keep inspection doors on the unit in good order
- Report musty smells from the vents straight away
- Plan the next inspection before the last report gets filed away
- Clear leaves and litter away from the intake
The report suggests a date for the next inspection or clean, based on what we found. TR19® Air is risk-based, so the interval depends on the unit and how the building is used.
Change or clean filters on time. Once filters clog, dirt starts getting past them.
