Need AHU cleaning in Egham Wick?

How we price AHU cleaning

The diagnosis comes before the price. We look at:

  • The scale of the work
  • Any permits to work or inductions
  • Where the site is and how we reach it
  • Working hours and out-of-hours timing

Every site is different, so we price each one individually. The size of the job, how we reach it, its condition and the working hours all play a part.

Asking for a quote

The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote. With your enquiry, please include:

  • The postcode and the type of business
  • Problems your staff have spotted
  • Your last certificate, test record or report
  • Photos showing the whole system and its surroundings

Quoting starts with a diagnosis, either from photos and details you send or from a site visit. After that, you get a fixed price for the work so you know the cost before we start.

AHU cleaning for kitchens and businesses in Egham Wick

Every supply and extract system relies on the air handling unit at its centre: it draws air in, filters it, heats or cools it and pushes it round the ductwork. Anything that collects inside the unit can end up in the rooms it serves, which is why we clean the unit itself, not just the ducts. If you have blocked condensate drains and slimy trays and dirty filters cutting the airflow, we can put it right.

In rural areas, ventilation units are often in roof voids or outbuildings, where filters and drain trays get forgotten.

The sign-off is always in writing: a written report, dated and illustrated with pictures, and for TR19® Grease cleans, a certificate issued through the BESCA VHE portal. It shows what was done and what, if anything, couldn’t be reached.

What we do, step by step

The first job on site is protection: floors, worktops and anything near the work are covered. After that, the system is made safe and the work begins. The work on site takes half a day to a full day per unit, with large plant planned over several shifts, and the area is cleaned down before we leave. In a small place like Egham Wick, the journey is planned ahead and the visit arranged around the site’s hours.

  1. First we agree when the unit can be switched off, including evenings or weekends.
  2. Before cleaning, each section is photographed.
  3. We work through the unit from the intake to the outlet.
  4. We finish with the fan section and the drain tray.
  5. After photos are taken and the certificate issued.

Getting ready for the visit

  • Let us know when the site is closed or quiet
  • Tell us about access, such as roof hatches, plant rooms, ceilings or locked areas
  • Name a contact who can let us in at the agreed time

How to get a quote

The quickest way to a quote is to send pictures: the system from a couple of angles, plus any access panels or hatches. Add the site type and your opening hours, and we can price many jobs without a visit.

Healthcare ventilation is a good example of why supply ducts need inspecting: the air goes straight to patients.

Healthcare ventilation, from large hospitals like King Edward VII Hospital (about 3.8 miles north) to small clinics, depends on clean filters, coils and ducts. For schools like St Cuthbert's Catholic Primary School, the holidays are the usual time to inspect and clean ventilation.

How the job changes from site to site

Heating and cooling coils

A dirty coil holds back the air and makes heating and cooling less effective. A clean gets air moving through the coil properly again.

Rooftop and plant room units

Rooftop units take the weather, and intakes can collect leaves and debris. The intake section gets particular attention.

Egham Wick: your questions answered

Do you work overnight in Egham Wick?

Yes. We work evenings, overnight and at weekends. The site is handed back ready to open. Tell us your opening hours when you ask for a quote.

Can you get to a site in Egham Wick?

Yes. Villages and rural sites across the South East are part of our work, Egham Wick included. The journey is planned ahead, so a few details about the route help.

Can you look after several sites?

Yes. One number covers all your sites across London and the South East, with visits on a regular schedule.

Are you fully insured?

Yes. We carry full insurance and have been trading since 2009.

What happens to the waste?

We take it away at the end of the visit. While we work, it’s kept contained so the area stays clean.

Can we book visits on a schedule?

Yes. Regular plans can run on 3, 6 or 12-monthly cycles, depending on what the system needs.

Is there a survey before the work?

Yes. We always survey first, either from pictures and details you send or on a site visit. A fixed quote follows.

When should our AHU next be cleaned?

That’s set by inspection, in line with TR19® Air. A hard-working unit, or one serving a hospital or care home, may need cleaning more often.

Why deal with it now?

Standing water in a drain tray doesn’t clear itself. Leave it and you risk overflows, leaks into the space below and odours carried round the building. Clearing it now is a much smaller job. In a place like Egham Wick, ductwork and fans are easy to forget until something goes wrong.

A single site or a whole portfolio, we price it on the same basis: the work involved, the access and the timing. You will have a fixed price before work begins.

Multi-site and managed buildings

Managing agents often deal with us directly. Tell us the site, the work and the access arrangements and we will come back with a fixed quote.

Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, the responsible person must assess and reduce fire risk, which may be the employer, owner, landlord, FM or managing agent. Where responsibility is shared, records matter even more.

Honest limits

To be straight with you, some problems need a different fix:

  • Coils that are corroded or leaking and need replacing
  • Airflow problems caused by the system’s design
  • Problems with the unit’s controls or sensors

If you’re not sure, just call 0345 646 2711 or email us and we’ll give you a straight answer.

What the work covers

  • Heating and cooling coils
  • Dampers and louvres
  • Drain trays
  • Filter sections
  • Supply and extract fans
  • Internal panels

In-house cleaning or a specialist?

Day-to-day cleaning is something your team can do: wiping down canopy surfaces, cleaning filters and keeping a simple log. Inside the ducts, risers and fan is specialist work, which is where we come in.

In-house cleaning and specialist cleaning do different jobs. Wiping filters daily and washing them weekly keeps the visible parts in order, but they don’t reach the grease that builds up further in. That part needs specialist access and equipment.
