Woolbeding TR19 inspection
Professional TR19 inspection in and around Woolbeding, booked around your opening hours and finished with a written report and photos.
- Kitchen extract systems with no recent grease readings
- Sites with gaps in their extract records
- Post-clean verification after another contractor’s clean
For landlords and multi-site operators
Keeping records across a portfolio is half the battle. Each visit produces a dated report with pictures, ready to show insurers, fire officers or EHOs.
Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, the responsible person must assess and reduce fire risk, and that can be the employer, the owner, a landlord, a facilities manager or a managing agent. With shared responsibility, good records help everyone.
About our TR19 inspection in Woolbeding
A grease test measures how thick the grease is inside a kitchen extract system. Readings are taken at set points using the Wet Film Thickness Test (WFTT) or the Deposit Thickness Test (DTT). The results show whether the system needs cleaning and how soon. We’re often asked to deal with sites with gaps in their extract records and systems that need surveying before cleaning, across access surveys, insurer audits and post-clean checks.
Work in a small place like Woolbeding starts with a call to agree access and timings, and the clean itself is the same full TR19® job as in any town: canopy to discharge, then a TR19® certificate and a photo report.
We’ve been trading since 2009, as a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease. CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001 are in place too, and we’re fully insured.

When to call us in Woolbeding
Not every section of a kitchen extract is easy to get to, so those sections can be skipped time and again. A survey finds the sections that cannot be reached, so the gaps can be closed.
Most sites get in touch when they notice one of these:
- Parts of the system left out of past cleans
- Cleaning intervals that may not suit the kitchen
- Insurers asking for TR19 evidence
- Extracts that have never been grease tested
Historic houses near Woolbeding, such as Cowdray House about 1.3 miles south-east, are a reminder that older buildings with event kitchens can have long, awkward duct routes.
What to look for in a quote
- Whether a written report and photos are included
- Whether inaccessible sections are listed on the report
- Whether the whole system is included, or only the parts that are easy to reach
- If they look at the system before pricing

Woolbeding questions
Can school kitchens in Woolbeding be cleaned in the holidays?
Yes, holiday work suits schools best. There are about 9 schools, colleges and universities on the FSA’s food hygiene register within about 1.5 miles of Woolbeding. Just phone us on 0345 646 2711, or send details by email with your term dates and we will plan around them.
Can you work in Woolbeding outside opening hours?
Yes, out-of-hours work is a big part of what we do. The work in Woolbeding can fit around your hours. Just phone us on 0345 646 2711 or use the quote form with your opening times and we will plan around them.
What information do you need?
Some photos and a quick description of the system plus the address and your hours. We’ll ask for anything else we need.
How much notice should we give?
Book as early as you can for planned work, especially if the next clean or test is due soon. For emergencies, we take calls 24/7.
Is there a survey before the work?
Yes, always. We diagnose before we treat: the survey tells us what the system needs and how to reach it, and the quote is based on that.
Do you offer maintenance contracts?
Yes. Send details of the systems and how they’re used and we will propose a schedule with a fixed quote.
How do you protect the area?
We start with protection: sheeting over floors, worktops and anything close to the work. The area is left tidy, with our waste taken away.
Which accreditations do you hold?
We hold CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001, alongside BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite membership, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease. Vent Hygiene Elite is run by BESCA and independently audited.
Why it’s worth doing now in Woolbeding

What the work involves, part by part
Horizontal duct runs
If a run has no access panel, we note it so panels can be added.
Schools, hospitals and care homes
In healthcare and care settings, kitchens may run from early until late. Readings show if cleaning is frequent enough.
How it works
We turn up at the time agreed with you, which is often after service, overnight or at a weekend. Equipment that has to be off is switched off and allowed to cool first, and floors and nearby surfaces are sheeted. The work itself takes an hour or two for a single kitchen, longer for a large or complex system. The timing of a visit to Woolbeding is set by you, and the travel is our side of the planning.
- Post-clean verification is booked once the clean is done.
- We open the access points used on the clean.
- We repeat the WFTT or DTT readings.
- Photos are taken to show the condition after the clean.
- The results are reported, with anything missed flagged.
Getting ready for the visit
- Find the previous report, if there is one
- Tell us where we can park and unload
- Move anything stored near the system
Getting a quote
Photos are enough for some jobs, while others need a look on site. Big or complicated sites, and systems that are hard to see in pictures, get a survey first. Either way, you get a fixed price before we start.

Aftercare tips
Looking after the system between visits is straightforward, and it helps at the next visit:
- Keep access panels clear and unpainted
- Clean grease off the canopy between professional cleans
- Store grease readings where your insurer can see them
- Keep to the recommended interval
Any access problems we found are listed with a suggested fix. Fitting them before the next clean means the whole system gets done.
Test grease regularly instead of relying on the calendar. It spots changes in how fast grease builds.
Kitchen extracts in Woolbeding
The FSA’s data shows about 7 pubs, bars and clubs registered in and around Woolbeding, up to about a mile and a half out. Breakfasts, bar meals and functions all put grease into the extract wherever they’re cooked. Fire safety in Woolbeding falls to West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service. Grease in a kitchen extract is a recognised fire risk, and the fire authority enforces the law on managing it in most commercial premises. Food hygiene inspections in Woolbeding are the job of Chichester council’s environmental health team. They look at how clean the premises and equipment are, and the kitchen extract is part of that. A TR19® certificate and photo report after each clean gives you a record to show an inspector.
If you run catering at a healthcare site, such as a hospital like Midhurst Community Hospital about 1 mile east, the extract may need cleaning more often than a part-time kitchen. Volunteers running a hall kitchen near The Parish Church of All Hollows, or anywhere in Woolbeding, may not know when the extract was last cleaned, and a grease test settles it.
