What we’re called out for in Egham
Some parts of a system are hard to reach, so those sections can be skipped time and again. A survey finds the sections that can’t be reached, so the gaps can be closed.
Signs it’s time to call us include:
- Kitchen extract systems with no recent grease readings
- Kitchens whose menu or hours have changed
- Missing TR19 certificates or history
- An insurer’s request for a TR19 audit
Healthcare kitchens can’t easily close, so their extracts are cleaned overnight or between meal services; the nearest hospital to Egham is Ashford Hospital, about 3.5 miles east.

About our TR19 inspection in Egham
Post-clean verification is a check carried out once the cleaning is done, with fresh grease readings, photos and a look at the areas that were cleaned. It gives you evidence of how the system was actually left. Typical jobs include insurance renewals needing proof of TR19 cleaning and kitchens taken over with no cleaning records, on insurer audits, deposit thickness tests and post-clean checks.
For a pub, café or restaurant in a town like Egham, losing a day’s trade to cleaning isn’t an option, so cleans are booked after closing, early in the morning or on a quiet day. The kitchen is handed back clean and ready to cook.
Our accreditations include CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001, and we are fully insured. We are also a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease, trading since 2009.

Looking after it afterwards
Results last longer with the right care. Here’s what we suggest:
- Keep the route to access panels clear
- Mention new equipment or longer hours at the next test
- Store grease readings where your insurer can see them
- Keep canopy edges and gutters wiped down
After the inspection, we send a report showing each reading, its location and photos. File it alongside your TR19 certificates.
Keep filters clean and in place. Missing or damaged filters let grease straight into the plenum.
For landlords and multi-site operators
Multi-site operators often want one contractor and one number. We work across London and the South East, so a run of sites can go into one programme and kept to a regular schedule.
Keeping records across a portfolio is half the battle. Each visit produces a dated report with pictures, ready to show insurers, fire officers or EHOs.
Questions from Egham
Which council inspects kitchens in Egham?
That is Runnymede council, whose environmental health officers carry out food hygiene inspections in Egham. How often a business is inspected depends on the risk rating the council gives it, so it’s worth staying ready all year.
Do you work overnight in Egham?
Yes, we can come after you close and finish before you open. The site is handed back ready to open. Tell us your opening hours when you ask for a quote.
Which kinds of sites do you work on?
Restaurants and pubs, hotels, schools and colleges, hospitals and care homes, offices and retail, plus food production and leisure sites.
What about areas you can’t get to?
The report shows them clearly. Often the fix is extra access, such as new panels in ductwork, and we can fit those.
What is grease thickness testing?
It’s a measurement of how much grease is coating the inside of the extract, by WFTT or DTT. The results are given in microns.
Is TR19 cleaning the law?
No. TR19® is BESA’s specification and the industry benchmark, not legislation. The law is the Fire Safety Order 2005, under which the responsible person must manage fire risk, and insurers, fire officers and EHOs look to TR19® as the benchmark.
What should I send you?
Only a few details: where it is, what kind of site, when it’s open and the access. Photos and the last report help too. After that, simply phone us on 0345 646 2711 or use the quote form.
Do you offer maintenance contracts?
Yes, of course. Tell us what you have and how it’s used, and we’ll suggest a schedule and quote for it.
Part by part
Canopy and plenum
The canopy itself is checked inside and out, and note where grease has gathered.
Schools, hospitals and care homes
School and college kitchens still need their extract checked. Testing shows whether the interval suits.
How we price TR19 inspection
There’s no set price list, because sites vary so much. The quote depends on:
- Whether it’s a one-off visit or part of a schedule
- Whether we need access equipment or extra panels
- Any permits to work or inductions
- The condition of the system
Putting the work off seldom saves money. Problems in a system tend to grow, and a neglected system can mean more work. If you are unsure, call 0345 646 2711 or use the quote form and we will give you an honest view and a fixed quote.
What we need to know
We can often survey from pictures. The most useful are:
- How we’d reach plant on a roof or in a plant room
- Detail shots of panels, filters and grilles
- Where the site is and what kind of site it is
- Any symptoms, from odd noises to smells or leaks
For a fixed quote, ring 0345 646 2711 or drop us a line with the site type, your trading hours and a short description of the system. A few photos and your last certificate or report help a lot. You will typically have a quote within one working day.
When something else is needed
Some problems need a different service or another trade:
- The grease itself, which needs a full or spot clean
- Design faults in the extract system
- A faulty or failing extract fan
If in doubt, call 0345 646 2711, or email photos and we’ll say what we think.

How the visit works
At the end of the visit, someone from your team can look over the work with us. We point out anything that couldn’t be reached or needs a follow-up, and the same goes into the written report. All told, the work takes an hour or two for a single kitchen, longer for a large or complex system. For a site in a town like Egham, tell us your opening hours, where we can park and how we reach the roof or plant.
- First we book a time that will not disrupt cooking.
- We look over the canopy, plenum, ducts, fan and discharge.
- Grease readings are taken at set points using WFTT or DTT.
- Photos are taken at each point, and access gaps noted.
- You get a report with readings, photos and recommendations.
Preparing for the visit
- Allow time for equipment near the work to be turned off and cool down
- Dig out any earlier paperwork for the system
- Clear loose items from the work area
Getting a quote
Photos are enough for some jobs, while others need a look on site. Larger sites, and anything hidden behind walls, ceilings or floors, are normally surveyed first. Either way, you get a fixed price before work begins.
