Dunton Green TR19 inspection
TR19 inspections and grease testing for businesses, landlords and public buildings in Dunton Green. CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001, and fully insured.
- Systems that need surveying before cleaning
- An insurer’s request for a TR19 audit
- Parts of the system left out of past cleans
For landlords and multi-site operators
Multi-site operators often want one contractor and one number. We work across London and the South East, so visits at different addresses can be planned together and kept to a regular schedule.
For anyone managing more than one site, we can plan visits across the whole estate and price them together. Every building has its own written report, so records stay tidy.
How we handle TR19 inspection in Dunton Green
Post-clean verification is a check carried out once the cleaning is done, with new readings and photos of the cleaned areas. It gives you evidence of how the system was actually left. Typical jobs include missing access panels found on survey and surveys needed before quoting a full clean, across wet film thickness tests, pre-clean surveys and deposit thickness tests.
For a kitchen in or near Dunton Green, the visit is planned around opening hours and the journey, and the clean covers the whole system, as it would anywhere: canopy to discharge, then a TR19® certificate and a photo report.
The sign-off is always in writing: a dated report with photos of the work, plus a certificate through the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal when the work is a TR19® Grease clean. Any parts we couldn’t reach are recorded on it too.

FAQs for Dunton Green
Which fire service covers Dunton Green?
That’s Kent Fire and Rescue Service. A recent cleaning certificate and a note of the next clean date show that grease in the extract is being managed.
Can you come to Dunton Green after we close?
Yes, we can come after you close and finish before you open. Your customers, staff or residents in Dunton Green needn’t be disturbed. Let us know the hours you’re closed and we will book within them.
How often should a kitchen extract be inspected?
That varies with the kitchen’s daily use. BESA’s minimum cleaning intervals are every 3, 6 or 12 months for heavy, moderate and light use, and testing shows if your kitchen needs more.
Are you accredited?
Duct Doctor is a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease. We also hold CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001, and we are fully insured.

We work for restaurants, pubs, hotels, schools, colleges, hospitals, care homes, offices and shops, plus food production and leisure sites.

Dunton Green kitchens: local notes
The Food Standards Agency lists about 10 bars, pubs and nightclubs as registered food businesses within roughly a mile and a half of the centre of Dunton Green. Wherever they cook, the canopy, duct and fan collect grease just as a restaurant’s do. Dunton Green sits within the area of Kent Fire and Rescue Service. Grease in a kitchen extract is a recognised fire risk, and the fire authority enforces the law on managing it in most commercial premises. Kitchens in Dunton Green get their food hygiene inspections from Sevenoaks council. They look at how clean the premises and equipment are, and the kitchen extract is part of that. A TR19® certificate and photo report after each clean gives you a record to show an inspector.
If you run catering at a healthcare site, such as a hospital like Sevenoaks Hospital about 1.2 miles east, the extract may need cleaning more often than a part-time kitchen. School kitchens, at schools like Dunton Green Primary School for example, are typically cleaned in the holidays so no lunches are lost.

When it’s something else
A few issues sit outside what this work can do:
- The grease itself, which needs a full or spot clean
- A faulty or failing extract fan
- Installation problems, which fall under design guidance such as DW172

When to call us in Dunton Green
As hot, greasy air travels up the duct, it cools and leaves a film behind. The thickest layers can sit out of sight in the plenum, at bends and along flat runs.
Clients normally contact us when they notice something like this:
- Surveys needed before quoting a full clean
- Post-clean verification after another contractor’s clean
- Systems cleaned on a calendar with no measurements
- Sections of duct that can’t be reached
Where a hall near St John's Church, or anywhere in Dunton Green, hosts lunch clubs or events, its extract gathers grease just as a café’s does.
Questions to ask before booking
- Whether they recommend a next date
- Whether a written report and pictures are included
- Whether the whole system is included, or only the parts that are easy to reach
- Whether the quote is based on a survey or pictures
The process
At the end of the visit, someone from your team can look over the work with us. We point out anything that couldn’t be reached or needs a follow-up, and the same goes into the written report. The visit takes anything from an hour for a small canopy and short duct to a good part of a day for a large site. Pictures of the system and its access let us plan the work in Dunton Green before we set off.
- The visit is arranged for when the kitchen is not busy.
- The system is checked from canopy to discharge.
- Grease readings are taken at set points using WFTT or DTT.
- We photograph the test points and record any sections we can’t reach.
- You get a report with readings, photos and recommendations.
How to prepare
- Agree a time when the area can be out of use
- Let us know about permits to work or site inductions
- Move anything stored near the system

Advice
Aftercare tips
No system stays clean for ever, but care slows the build-up. A few tips:
- Report grease dripping from the canopy
- Flag changes in how much frying the kitchen does
- Diary the next grease test and clean
- Clean or swap grease filters as often as the kitchen needs
Readings of 500 microns or more are highlighted as needing immediate spot cleaning, and we can arrange it.
Clean, correctly fitted filters stop more grease reaching the duct. Missing or damaged filters let grease straight into the plenum.
In-house cleaning or a specialist?
Good housekeeping makes our visits easier, not unnecessary. Regular in-house cleaning slows the build-up, but the parts you cannot see still need a specialist at the right interval.
For ventilation and air handling systems, in-house care is mostly about checks: keeping grilles clear, noting unusual noise or smells and logging filter changes. Cleaning inside ducts and units is specialist work.
Part by part
Schools, hospitals and care homes
We fit testing around service times and school holidays to avoid disruption.
Horizontal duct runs
Grease settles on the floor of horizontal ducts as the air cools. Readings are taken along each run through its access panels.
