How kitchen extract cleaning works in TN15
We’ve been trading since 2009, cleaning kitchen extracts across the South East and London. We are a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease, and we hold CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001 and are fully insured. Typical jobs include an inspection that picked up a dirty extract and grease drips onto cooking equipment, across horizontal duct runs, vertical risers and canopies and hoods.
Everything the job needs comes with us, from protective sheeting to tools and access equipment. All we need from you is clear access and the right equipment switched off. On site, the work takes anything from a few hours to a full night, depending on the size of the system.
- You send photos or we visit, and the system is surveyed from canopy to discharge.
- Grease thickness is measured and the price is fixed before work starts.
- On the night, the equipment is off and cool and the kitchen is sheeted.
- Filters, canopy and plenum are cleaned, then the ducts, risers, fan and discharge.
- Readings are repeated, photos taken, and your TR19 certificate and photo report issued.
What affects the price in TN15
The price reflects the work, not guesswork. That is why every job is surveyed first, and why the quote is fixed before any work starts.
Why choose Duct Doctor
- A fixed price before any work starts
- Each visit written up, with photos
- One number for every site across the South East and London
- Accredited under CHAS and SafeContractor, with ISO 9001
Get a fixed quote
Some systems can be priced from pictures; others need a survey. Larger sites, and anything hidden behind walls, ceilings or floors, are normally surveyed first. Either way, the quote is fixed before any work is booked.

Where we work in TN15
Our kitchen extract cleaning work across TN15 takes in places such as Sevenoaks, West Kingsdown and Borough Green and the villages in between. We cover every place we list for TN15, 41 in all, and kitchens are cleaned around their opening hours, overnight and at weekends included.
Much of our work across London and the South East happens in the evening, overnight or at weekends, so sites in TN15 can keep trading.
West Kingsdown: Kitchens that cook twelve hours or more a day, as some healthcare kitchens do, fall into BESA’s three-monthly minimum; Sevenoaks Hospital is the nearest hospital to West Kingsdown, about 4.9 miles south-west. If you look after a school kitchen, at a school such as West Kingsdown CofE VC Primary School or anywhere near West Kingsdown, the holidays are the usual time for a TR19® clean.
Between visits
To keep the system working properly between visits:
- Run the extract fan throughout cooking
- Keep grease collection points emptied
- Keep to the recommended cleaning interval
- Report grease drips, smells or fan noise right away
When the clean is finished, grease readings are taken again at the same points, giving you before and after readings alongside the pictures. A TR19 certificate follows, issued through the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal.
Run the extract whenever the kitchen is cooking. Cooking with the extract off lets grease and heat settle in the canopy, and the next clean has more to do.
What kitchen extract cleaning can’t fix
An honest diagnosis matters more to us than a booking, so here’s what this work can’t put right:
- A fan motor or bearings that have failed (that needs a fan repair or replacement)
- A damper that sticks or has a damaged link
- Ductwork that’s corroded, split or leaking (that is for a ductwork contractor)
Part by part
Restaurant and pub kitchens
Losing a service is not an option for most restaurants and pubs. We work overnight and at weekends where that suits, and hand back a clean kitchen ready to cook.
Extract fan and discharge
Some systems have attenuators to cut noise, and they hold grease. Where they can be cleaned, they are, and the report notes anything that can’t.
For landlords and multi-site operators
Running several sites is easier with one contractor. We cover South East England and London, so a run of sites can go into one programme and kept to a regular schedule.
We also work for facilities teams across offices, schools and healthcare across Kent. Larger estates can be phased building by building around the people who use them.
Fixed quotes for kitchen extract cleaning in TN15
The price is fixed before any work begins. It takes into account:
- Parking and loading at the site
- The condition of the system
- The scale of the work
- Access, including roofs, risers and ceiling voids
A single site or a whole portfolio, the quote is built the same way: the work involved, the access and the timing. The price is fixed before any work starts.
What to send for a quote
When you call or email, these details help:
- Any symptoms, from odd noises to smells or leaks
- Detail shots of panels, filters and grilles
- Where the site is and what kind of site it is
- How we’d reach plant on a roof or in a plant room
We don’t publish a price list, because no two systems are the same. Instead, we look at your site first, from photos or a survey, and then send you a fixed quote. To start, phone us on 0345 646 2711 or email us.
Common questions in TN15
Do you offer maintenance contracts?
Yes, of course. Tell us what you have and how it’s used and we’ll propose a schedule with a fixed quote.
Do you offer emergency callouts?
Yes. For anything urgent, such as a fan failure or damage after a fire, ring the 24/7 line and we will talk you through the next steps.
When do you clean the extract?
We clean while the kitchen is closed, so evenings, overnight, early mornings and weekends are all options. Equipment needs to be off and cool before we start.
Which sectors do you work in?
Any commercial site with kitchens or ventilation, from a small pub to a hospital. Hotels, schools, care homes, offices, shops and leisure sites are all part of our work.
What if parts of the system can’t be reached?
They’re marked on the report. In ductwork, new access panels are often the answer, which we can install.
Will I get a certificate after the clean?
A TR19 certificate and a photo report. Certificates are issued through the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal, and the report includes before and after photos, grease readings and the recommended next clean date.
Why do insurers care about extract cleaning?
Many insurers ask for proof of regular cleaning to TR19, and many policies require it. Without proof, a claim can be refused or reduced, so it’s worth checking your policy wording.
