Kitchen extract cleaning in ME16

Our kitchen extract cleaning service in ME16

We have been trading since 2009, cleaning kitchen extracts across the South East and London. As a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, we clean to BESA TR19® Grease, and we are fully insured, with CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001. The work covers plenums and filters, extract fans and discharge points, and people most often call us about cleaning needed before an insurance renewal or survey and a smoky, hot kitchen with weak extraction.

We turn up at the time agreed with you, which is often after service, overnight or at a weekend. Anything that needs to be off for the work is switched off and left to cool first, and floors and nearby surfaces are sheeted. The work itself takes as long as the system needs, from a few hours to several planned visits.

  1. First the diagnosis: a survey of the whole system and its access points.
  2. Grease readings set the baseline, and a fixed quote follows.
  3. We arrive after close, protect the area and contain the waste.
  4. The treatment: heavy grease scraped out, then every part degreased to TR19® Grease.
  5. The sign-off: post-clean readings, a TR19 certificate and a photo report with the next clean date.

What affects the price in ME16

No two sites are the same, so each one gets its own fixed quote. Size, access, the condition of the system and when we can work all play a part.

Why book with us

  • Evenings, overnight and weekends, plus 24/7 emergency callout
  • Fixed quotes, typically within one working day
  • One number for every site across the South East and London
  • We’re fully insured

How to get a quote

Some systems can be priced from pictures; others need a survey. Larger sites, and anything hidden behind walls, ceilings or floors, are normally surveyed first. Either way, the quote is fixed before any work is booked.

Around Allington

Around Allington, our work takes us to kitchens and buildings near The Maplesden Noakes School, St. Nicholas' Church and St. Simon Stock Catholic School, among other places. You’ll also find Allington Primary School (less than half a mile north-west), Malta Inn (0.8 miles north-east) and Whatman Park (0.8 miles south-east). The closest station to Allington is Barming station, about 0.8 miles west. A little further out are Queen's Own Royal West Kent Regiment Museum (1.3 miles south-east) and Fremlin Walk (1.3 miles south-east). Green spaces nearby include Burham Down and Boxley Hills.

Where we work in ME16

In ME16, a busy kitchen in a place such as Maidstone, Foley Park and Allington and a quiet village kitchen need very different cleaning intervals. Grease readings and BESA’s minimum intervals set the schedule for each.

In England, the Fire Safety Order puts the duty on the responsible person to assess and reduce fire risk, and each certificate and photo report is a record you can keep in your log book.

Allington: Term dates shape school work: for a school like Allington Primary School, an extract clean fits neatly into a half-term or summer break. If you run a church or community hall kitchen, near St. Nicholas' Church or elsewhere in Allington, its extract still collects grease from every lunch and event.

Why it fails

We often find duct sections that haven’t been cleaned since they were installed. The usual reason is a lack of access panels, so those sections were never reached. That hidden grease keeps building where nobody looks.

The symptoms we’re asked about most are:

  • A smoky, hot kitchen with weak extraction
  • Stale cooking odours from the system
  • Missing paperwork after a change of operator
  • A kitchen with no current TR19 certificate

Different parts, different methods

Extract fan and discharge

Grease that reaches the fan coats the blades and the housing. We isolate it, open it up and degrease it.

Ductwork and risers

Long flat runs of duct are where grease collects. We open access panels along the route and clean each section, recording any that cannot be reached.

Landlords, agents and facilities managers

For anyone managing more than one site, we can schedule visits across all of them on one quote. Every building has its own written report, so each one has its own record.

Whether it’s one building or many, the standard is the same: diagnosis, a fixed price, work booked around your hours and a written report with pictures.

Aftercare tips

Results last longer with the right care. Here’s what we suggest:

  • Refit filters properly after cleaning
  • Keep the TR19 certificate and photo report in the maintenance log
  • Flag any change in how the extract sounds or works
  • Keep grease collection points emptied

The report gives a recommended date for the next clean, set from your daily cooking hours and the readings we took. A 3, 6 or 12-monthly maintenance plan keeps it on track, so the date isn’t missed.

Wipe the canopy down regularly and empty grease troughs or collection points. It will not replace a TR19 clean, but it slows what reaches the duct.

What affects the quote in ME16

We do not publish a price list, because sites vary so much. What we look at:

  • Parking and loading at the site
  • The condition of the system
  • The times the site is available
  • How many systems or sites are involved

The price reflects the work, not guesswork. That’s why we survey first, from pictures or on site, and why the quote is fixed before we start.

What to send for a quote

There’s no need for technical detail. It helps if you can send:

  • Your opening hours and when the area is out of use
  • Your last certificate, test record or report
  • Photos showing the whole system and its surroundings
  • Close-ups of filters, grilles, hatches or access panels

ME16: your questions answered

Can you come out in an emergency?

Yes, any time. If something urgent happens, like a fan failing or damage after a fire, call our 24/7 line, and we’ll advise on what to do next.

How long will the clean take?

Allow as long as the system needs, from a few hours to several planned visits. We will confirm the time when we quote.

Are you accredited for kitchen extract cleaning?

We clean to BESA TR19® Grease as a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, with certificates issued through the BESCA portal. We’ve been trading since 2009.

What do you do to protect the area?

With sheeting and covers, before anything else happens. We keep the work contained and clean down when we finish.

What types of premises do you cover?

We work for restaurants, pubs, hotels, schools, colleges, hospitals, care homes, offices and shops, plus food production and leisure sites.

How much does kitchen extract cleaning cost?

There’s no set price, as it depends on the job: how big it is, what state it’s in, how we reach it and the working hours. We fix the price before work begins.

What is TR19?

It’s BESA’s specification and the benchmark insurers, fire officers and EHOs look to. It covers how systems are inspected, cleaned and checked, and it takes a risk-based approach.
