Kitchen extract cleaning in Cox Green

TR19 kitchen extract cleaning in Cox Green

A closed kitchen isn’t earning, so the timing of a clean matters. We work evenings, overnight and at weekends, or during holidays where a site closes for them. With the equipment off and cool and the area sheeted, we clean and hand the kitchen back ready for the next service. The work covers plenums and filters, extract fans and vertical risers, and people most often call us about a new tenancy or takeover with no cleaning history and stale cooking odours from the system. Kitchen extract cleaning, TR19 cleaning, extraction cleaning: whatever you call it, it’s the job we do every week across Windsor and Maidenhead.

Grease that collects out of sight, behind the filters and along the duct, is what insurers and fire officers worry about, which is why a TR19® clean in Cox Green goes well beyond the canopy.

For a smaller kitchen near Cox Green, a TR19® clean is the same job as anywhere: canopy, filters, plenum, duct, fan and discharge. The visit is booked around your opening hours, and the journey is planned ahead.

Nothing is signed off by word of mouth: a dated report with photos of the work, and for TR19® Grease cleans, a certificate issued through the BESCA VHE portal. It shows what was done and what, if anything, couldn’t be reached.

Cox Green: your questions answered

Do you work overnight in Cox Green?

Yes, we can come after you close and finish before you open. It means the site in Cox Green keeps running as normal. When you give us a ring on 0345 646 2711, or send details by email, mention when the site is quiet.

Can a school canteen extract in Cox Green be done out of term time?

Yes. The holidays are the usual time for school work. Around Cox Green, the Food Standards Agency lists about 27 schools and colleges with registered kitchens within a mile and a half or so. You can ring 0345 646 2711, or send details by email with the dates the site is empty.

What if parts of the system can’t be reached?

They’re marked on the report. Often the fix is extra access, such as new panels in ductwork, which we can install.

Do you clean the whole extract system or just the canopy?

Everything from canopy to discharge: canopy inside and out, plenum, grease filters, ductwork, risers, extract fan and discharge, plus attenuators where fitted. Any part without access is noted.

Which sectors do you work in?

Restaurants and pubs, hotels, schools and colleges, hospitals and care homes, offices and retail, as well as food production and leisure sites.

What do I get after the clean?

You receive a TR19 certificate and a photo report. Certificates are issued through the BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite portal, and the report shows before and after pictures, readings, any areas not reached and the next clean date.

Can you quote from pictures?

Usually, yes. Send a few wide pictures plus close-ups of panels, filters or grilles, and a fixed quote normally follows within one working day. If photos aren’t enough, we will survey first.

Is Cox Green in your area?

Yes. Cox Green is part of the area we cover, within the South East and London area we cover.

In-house cleaning or a specialist?

Day-to-day cleaning is something your team can do: wiping down canopy surfaces, cleaning filters and keeping a simple log. What they can’t safely do is clean inside the ductwork, the fan or the risers, and that is where we come in.

Logging matters as much as cleaning. A simple log of filter washes, wipe-downs and checks helps show that the system is managed between specialist visits, next to our reports.

Kitchen extract cleaning around Cox Green

Food Standards Agency records list about 89 cafés, restaurants and staff canteens and about 26 takeaways within about 1.5 miles of central Cox Green. Those that fry, grill or roast under a canopy need their extracts cleaned at intervals set by how long they cook. In Cox Green, food businesses are inspected by environmental health officers from Windsor and Maidenhead council. The cleanliness of the kitchen and its equipment, extraction included, is part of what they check. A dated certificate in the maintenance file answers the question before it’s asked. Cox Green is covered by Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service. The Fire Safety Order puts the duty on whoever runs a kitchen to control its fire risk, and a greasy duct is fuel.

A hospital like St Mark's Hospital, about 1.2 miles north, is the kind of site where a kitchen may cook for patients, staff and visitors all day. Term dates shape school work: for a school like Wessex Primary School, an extract clean fits neatly into a half-term or summer break. For landlords and multi-site operators

Running several sites is easier with one contractor. We work across London and the South East, so visits at different addresses can be planned together and kept to a regular schedule.

Facilities teams in offices, schools and healthcare sites book us too across Windsor and Maidenhead. Work can be phased by floor, building or site around the people who use them.

Fixed quotes for kitchen extract cleaning in Cox Green

The survey tells us what the work involves. The main factors are:

  • Site rules, permits and inductions
  • Whether it’s a one-off visit or part of a schedule
  • Access, including roofs, risers and ceiling voids
  • The number of sites or systems

Kitchens, offices, schools and hospitals are all priced the same way: how much there is, how we reach it, what state it’s in and when we can work. Ask for a fixed quote and we’ll go through it with you.

What to send for a quote

When you contact us, these details help:

  • The roof, plant room or outside wall the system runs to
  • Any access panels or hatches you can see
  • Problems your staff have spotted
  • The paperwork from the last visit, if you have it

Every quote begins with a look at the system, either from pictures and details you send or from a site visit. Then we send a fixed price so you know the cost before we start.

When it’s something else

Kitchen extract cleaning can’t fix everything, and we’d rather say so up front. It doesn’t solve:

  • An undersized canopy or fan
  • A fan motor or bearings that have failed (that needs a fan repair or replacement)
  • Faulty fire dampers in the duct

If in doubt, give us a ring on 0345 646 2711 or drop us a line and we’ll say what we think before you book.

Where we work

  • Canopies and hoods
  • Horizontal duct runs
  • Discharge points
  • Plenums and filters
  • Vertical risers
  • Extract fans

How the visit works

Every visit runs to the same pattern: sheeting and protection first, isolate whatever needs isolating, do the work, tidy up and hand over the paperwork. The visit itself takes anything from a few hours to a full night, depending on the size of the system. Around Cox Green, access is usually simpler than in a town centre, though gates and roof access are worth mentioning.

  1. Diagnosis comes first, with a survey of the system and how it’s reached.
  2. We record grease levels at set points, then fix the price.
  3. We arrive after close, protect the area and contain the waste.
  4. The treatment: heavy grease scraped out, then every part degreased to TR19® Grease.
  5. The sign-off: post-clean readings, a TR19 certificate and a photo report with the next clean date.

How to prepare

  • Let us know how we reach the system, including roofs, risers and plant rooms
  • Let us know about parking and loading
  • Plan for cooking equipment or plant to be off before we arrive

Advice

Different parts, different methods

Grease filters

Baffle filters are cleaned as part of every TR19 clean, and refitted so they sit properly in the housing. Damaged ones are noted on the report.

Ductwork and risers

Vertical risers carry the air up through the building, and grease often collects at the bottom of them. Access panels along the riser let us clean it in sections.

What happens if it’s left?

Putting it off simply moves the grease further down the duct. Fat that was soft and easy to remove hardens with heat and time, which is slower to clean. Regular cleans keep each visit shorter. It’s better to plan the work at a site near Cox Green than wait for a failure.

You will not find a price list here, because the cost depends on the site in front of us. Call for a fixed quote, and we will talk you through it.
