Kitchen extract cleaning across Albany Park

In-house cleaning or a specialist?

Day-to-day cleaning is something your team can do: wiping down canopy surfaces, cleaning filters and keeping a simple log. Inside the ducts, risers and fan is specialist work, which is where we come in.

Some jobs should never be done in-house: opening up ductwork, cleaning fans, drop testing fire dampers and measuring grease call for the right kit, training and safe access. Leave those to us.

Commercial kitchen extraction cleaning in Albany Park

The part of the system nobody sees is often the dirtiest. Access panels let us into the duct runs and risers, scraping heavy deposits by hand before degreasing. Any section we cannot reach is recorded on the report and extra access panels can be added. If you have heavy grease build-up inside the duct runs and a new tenancy or takeover with no cleaning history, we can help. Whether you call it kitchen extract cleaning, TR19 cleaning or kitchen duct cleaning, in Albany Park it means the same thing to us: the whole system, cleaned and certificated.

Most kitchens in Albany Park fall into one of BESA’s three bands: 3-monthly for heavy use, 6-monthly for moderate use and yearly for light use, adjusted by what the grease readings show.

London kitchens tend to trade late and open early, so work in Albany Park is normally booked for the night or the early hours. Before the clean, we agree loading, parking and roof access with whoever manages the building.

We have been trading since 2009, as a BESCA Vent Hygiene Elite member, cleaning to BESA TR19® Grease. We also hold CHAS, SafeContractor and ISO 9001, and we’re fully insured.

Part by part

Grease filters

We clean the grease filters as part of the job, and refitted so they sit properly in the housing. Damaged ones are noted on the report.

Extract fan and discharge

The fan pulls the air through the whole system, and grease that gets past everything else ends up on its blades. It’s isolated, opened and cleaned as part of the TR19 clean.

Honest limits

Kitchen extract cleaning cannot fix everything, and we’d rather say so up front. It will not put right:

  • A fan motor or bearings that have failed (that needs a fan repair or replacement)
  • A duct that is holed or coming apart
  • A grease trap that needs emptying

Not sure which it is? You can ring 0345 646 2711 or email us and we will tell you honestly before you book.

What the work covers

  • Discharge points
  • Canopies and hoods
  • Extract fans
  • Plenums and filters
  • Vertical risers
  • Horizontal duct runs

What we do, step by step

At the end of the visit, someone from your team can look over the work with us. Anything we couldn’t reach or that needs attention is pointed out there and then, and the same goes into the written report. The visit takes as long as the system needs, from a few hours to several planned visits. Most London sites cannot stop for the day, so work in Albany Park is usually done overnight, early in the morning or at weekends.

  1. We start with a survey, so we know every part of the system before we quote.
  2. Grease readings are taken at set points and you get a fixed quote.
  3. On the day, cooking equipment is switched off and left to cool, and everything nearby is sheeted.
  4. We clean the canopy, plenum, filters, ducts, risers, fan and discharge.
  5. Readings and photos are taken again, and you receive a TR19 certificate and photo report.

Before we arrive

  • Find the previous report, if there is one
  • Clear loose items from the work area
  • Mention any sign-in, permit or induction we need

Questions from Albany Park

How do you handle parking and loading in Albany Park?

We plan it in advance, so let us know about loading bays, permits and access rules at the building. Where restrictions apply in the day, an evening or overnight visit normally gets round them.

Can you come to Albany Park after we close?

Yes. We work evenings, overnight and at weekends. The work in Albany Park can fit around your hours. Tell us your opening hours when you ask for a quote.

Will my insurer ask for a TR19 certificate?

Grease in an extract is a known fire risk, which is why many insurers require TR19 cleaning. Our certificate and photo report give you that evidence.

What do you do with what you remove?

We take it away at the end of the visit. During the work, it’s contained so the area stays clean.

How often does a kitchen extract system need cleaning?

It depends on how many hours a day the kitchen cooks. Heavy use of 12 to 16 hours a day calls for a clean at least every 3 months under BESA guidance, and lighter use less often. Your report gives a recommended next clean date.

Do you look at the system first?

Yes, always. We diagnose before we treat: the survey shows what needs doing and what access we need, and the quote is based on that.

Do you work in Albany Park?

Yes. We work in Albany Park and across Greater London, as part of our work across South East England and London. To book, ring 0345 646 2711 or use the quote form.

How long will the clean take?

A small kitchen with a short duct can be done in a few hours, but large systems may be spread over more than one visit. We will tell you how long when we quote.

For landlords and multi-site operators

Where a tenant occupies the premises but the landlord owns the building, it’s worth checking the lease for who maintains the systems. We can quote either party, and the report can go to both.

We also work for facilities teams across offices, schools and healthcare in Albany Park and across Greater London. Larger estates can be phased building by building around the people who use them.

Common problems we fix in Albany Park

How fast grease builds up depends mostly on how long the kitchen cooks each day. Under BESA guidance, heavy use of 12 to 16 hours a day means a clean at least every 3 months, moderate use every 6 months and light use every 12. They are minimums: measured grease levels set the real interval.

Common reasons sites call us are:

  • Missing paperwork after a change of operator
  • Stale cooking odours from the system
  • Extraction mentioned at an environmental health visit
  • Poor airflow at the canopy

Kitchens that cook twelve hours or more a day, as some healthcare kitchens do, fall into BESA’s three-monthly minimum; Queen Mary's Hospital is the nearest hospital to Albany Park, about 0.5 miles south.

What your quote should include

  • What paperwork you get at the end
  • Whether the whole system is included, or only the parts that are easy to reach
  • Whether VAT is included
  • Which accreditations they hold, and whether you can check them

Questions to ask before booking

What affects the cost of kitchen extract cleaning

The quote reflects the site in front of us. We consider:

  • Where the site is and how we reach it
  • The scale of the work
  • The number of sites or systems
  • What state the system is in

No two sites are the same, so we price each one individually. Size, access, the condition of the system and when we can work all play a part.

Asking for a quote

The more you tell us, the more accurate the quote. When you get in touch, it helps to send:

  • When the site is open and when it’s quiet
  • Where the site is and what kind of site it is
  • The paperwork from the last visit, if you have it
  • Any access panels or hatches you can see

Need a price for kitchen extract cleaning? Please phone us on 0345 646 2711 or email us and tell us about the site. We’ll talk you through the work and send you a fixed quote before anything is booked.
